Chapter 285 - Sunrises And New Beginnings
Thus, Sam began in a way like this , "Sunset reminds me of promises. A promise that there will be a new beginning one after sunset. Every night we sleep peacefully in darkness because we know that we will open our eyes to see the light." He seemed to have paused for a moment and Zhenyi placed her head on his shoulder, her eyes still on the pinkish sky. " In life, we experience good and bad times but just like the sun never forget to rise each morning, we should never forget that one day our sufferings, misery and pain will end and a new beginning will be waiting for us," Sam said while looking at the now entirely risen sun. "The sunrise is waiting for you, Zhenyi. Embrace the new beginning that life has to give you and leave behind your past. I still remember the broken girl Ryuu brought home fifteen years ago. That day, you asked me \'Sam, I\'m the reason my momma and little sister left this world, will you still be my best friend?\' I never get to answer that question. Let me ask you a question today, if instead of Aunt Reine, it was you and your kid, who would you protect? Yourself or the kid?"
Zhenyi turned to look at him with blinking eyes.
"You have your answer, Zhenyi. You were never to be blamed. You did nothing wrong. You were not at fault. And as for being your friend, even if people call you a monster, I\'ll still be your best friend."

"Where are we going?" Zhenyi asked Sam when they finally reached the road.
She truly enjoyed this morning with Sam, and so she wouldn\'t be refusing what he had planned for the day. It wouldn\'t be a lie to say that she was looking forward to living her day just as Zhenyi. When was the last time she took a break to enjoy the money she had earned with her blood and sweat? Maybe never.
"Oh, I know an amazing place and we are going there to have the best pancakes in the whole wide world," Sam announced, tossing his car keys in the air.
Zhenyi looked into the car mirror and caught a glimpse of her face. She didn\'t look bad if you would ask. Instead, she looked quite young today. She was wearing a simple pastel too and jean shorts along with pink sneakers. How badly she wanted to smack Sam for choosing pink!
She opened the door, and sat on the passenger seat. Of course, Sam wasn\'t a bit chivalrous as her husband. About thirty minutes later, they entered a village. She was mesmerized by the beauty of the place. It was far from the hustle bustle of the city. He parked outside a small and ancient restaurant. They went inside, and sat on the only empty table available there.
An elderly woman came, and Sam behaved quite cheekily with her. Zhenyi had a hard time suppressing a smile. As the woman\'s gaze fell on Zhenyi, she exclaimed,"My, my who we have here? Xiao Xian, is she your girlfriend? Aiyoo! Although she is quite beautiful, you look more like siblings than a couple!"
Hearing elderly lady\'s blunt words and looking at Sam\'s sour expression, Zhenyi ended up laughing. "Auntie, this young man proposed to me to marry him a few months back, and I beated his ass for that!"
"Look at her, Auntie. Tell her no one will like her. Men these days love gentle and delicate women like Auntie," Sam flirted with the old woman."We men like delicate and gentle beauties like Auntie."
The elderly woman patted his shoulder and said," Young man, there is nothing wrong with a woman being strong and tough. Delicate or tough, they both are women. And where is it written that men only like delicate and gentle women? What\'s wrong with a woman who can fight boldly rather than acting all coy?" She then turned to Zhenyi and scrutinized her. She had to say the girl was pretty in a very unusual way. Then her gaze fell on something. "Look at her hand, she is already married, isn\'t she?"
Sam pursed his lips and said nothing. Was it necessary to rub salt on his fresh wounds?
The elderly woman left soon after noting down the order and later a young man came with their order, and as Zhenyi took a bite, the heavenly pancakes dissolved in his mouth. Sam was so right about this place.
"Brother Qiang," the young man greeted Sam. Qiang seemed to be Sam\'s new alias. Zhenyi saw that the young boy\'s cheeks were red. Was he blushing?
"Brother Qiang, why didn\'t sister Xixi come with you?" He asked again with red cheeks.
"Oh, she is busy with some work but she promised to visit you all soon," Sam told him and the boy ran inside with red cheeks.
"Your roommate\'s name is Xixi?" Zhenyi asked him.
"It\'s just an alias just like Qiang," Sam informed. "Her identity is quite sensitive."
"Really?" Zhenyi raised her brows.
"She is a superwoman," Sam said casually.
Zhenyi perked up at his words, "Sam, do you perhaps like her?"
Sam froze as he heard Zhenyi\'s words. He took a deep breath and said,"Yeah. I like her. I think I like her a lot. I really admire her. I haven\'t met someone as amazing as before. She is a genius, Zhenyi. Can you believe that her medicine worked on me like a miracle? Apart from you, if I can call someone a friend that will be her. But that proud peacock will never accept."
Zhenyi nodded. "Where is she now?"
"Probably nursing her broken heart over a bottle of wine in some corner of the world," Sam said in a worried tone.
"Why would someone as amazing as her cry over a mere man?" Zhenyi asked him.
"Because not every man can be Ryuu," Sam muttered in annoyance and Zhenyi turned towards him in shock.

I wanted to write a romantic book but this one turned out to be a melodramatic(if it\'s a genre). And hopefully, we will be taking a leap as the new characters are finally here. And...and....ummm...yeah, send me some gifts coz I feel like crying and beatings someone at the same time.
[I really think we need some relaxed chapters as mysteries are getting too much for me to write ?. ]
