Chapter 293 - Wars Begin When You Will, And Donnot End When You Please
Shock registered on Nash\'s face before he could hide it. Does she want evidence? This woman has slapped right in front of him and now questioning the evidence? Little did the dunderhead know, Leena was trying to prove evidence exhausts the truth.
Leena kept her anger in check when the barking dog sitting in front of her mocked her. Kick a barking dog, and it will only bark more. Leena pretended not to notice, assuming it would shut its mouth eventually. But it made a mistake. A grave mistake! It touched her bottom line degrading Devin, arousing every nerve in her body like molten lava, and before she reflected, her hand raised, denting Nash\'s face. \'\'Glad that my husband hasn\'t come here. Otherwise, you will end up with nothing to lose.\'\'
In Nash\'s perspective, Enger is the most ruthless monster, but the man always takes a step back to confront Devin face to face. He doesn\'t understand why, but this is alone enough to know Devin\'s power and command. Nash knew Devin\'s capability, but anger caused him to speak out of his thoughts, and in turn, got slapped by Leena. If not for Enger, he would have dealt with this woman in his own way. \'\'Raising a hand on a journalist is a serious offense. I can take you to the court of law.\'\'
\'\'You need to step out of this house alive first.\'\' There was a firmness in Kurt\'s tone that threatened to drive Nash\'s fear at the edge. Nash clenched his fists. Enger might not have known that Leena and Kurt brought him here for investigation. He has to deal with them carefully and get out of this place soon. \'\'I am telling the fact, I don\'t have anything to do with your husband\'s accident.\'\' His tone was stern.
\'\'Then why did you ask about his company affairs?\'\' Leena probed again.
\'\'I work in a reporting company, and it\'s our job to pull information about celebrities. That\'s how we work.\'\'
\'\'If that was the case, why didn\'t I see any news posting about him in your channel?\'\' Leena\'s voice mounted to the peeks. When she first entered the building, she wanted to interrogate Lidiya first, but her legs brought her here, and now she is getting a hunch that Nash definitely has a hand in Devin\'s accident.
Nash was taken back by the sudden question. He didnot think Leena would twist the questions to trap him into the web. When Enger asked about Devin\'s business trip, he tried all the possible ways, but his efforts turned futile. Planting a mole in Devin\'s company is the dumbest thought Nash could think because the tracks would eventually lead to the mole. But luckily, he stumbled upon Lidiya\'s secret, and he used it to his advantage.
Yes! He planned and seduced Andrea to know about Devin\'s business trips. Although Nash was disgusted, he still suggested a fivesome and made her spill the secrets at the peak of her orgasm. When Nash thought he had cleared all the evidence, this woman caught a single thread and brought the case until here. If he is not careful with his words, Leena will find out about Enger. Leena is close! Very close. He can\'t let that happen. \'\'I don\'t understand why am I the prime suspect when three more people were along with Andrea on that night,\'\' Nash asked. \'\'Why can\'t it be Lidiya, Charles, or James?\'\'
.....
In a crummy room, Nick was sitting in front of Lidiya. \'\'So you are telling Nash asked you to introduce Andrea?\'\'
\'\'Yes,\'\' Lidiya replied in a calm voice. \'\'Please understand me, sir. Nash and I work in the same company. I don\'t have a hand in the accident. I asked about CEO\'s personal stuff because I am a fan of him. Other than that, I didnot talk about any CEO\'s business trips.\'\'
The mouth might lie, but never the eyes. Nick could feel the honesty in Lidiya\'s eyes. He texted Leena and rose from his seat to check upon Charles and James. Before going out, he signaled the guards to look after Lidiya.
...
\'\'Instead of shifting your concentration on me, focus on catching the actual criminal,\'\' Nash said in a pretended solemnity. Even if these people torture him, he will not reveal Enger\'s name. His loyalty belongs to him alone.
When Leena was trying to pull out more information from Nash, she received a text message from Nick. Her lips curved up into a smile before her gaze fell on Nash. \'\'You can leave, Mr. Rivett.\'\'
\'\'W_hat?\'\' For a second, Nash thought he was hallucinating.
Even Kurt was astonished hearing Leena\'s thoughts. \'\'What are you talking_\'\'
Raising her hand, Leena stopped Kurt from further speaking. She then turned to Nash and spoke up. \'\'You can leave. I am done with your interrogation.\'\'
Nash was confused as well. One moment Leena was so adamant about knowing the truth, and when she was almost close, she let him slip out of her hands like a grain of sand. Not that he is going to reveal Enger\'s name. Even if they are going to torture him, his loyalty belongs to Enger.
Nash got up from the seat and warily took a forward step looking back and forth. Before he crossed the exit of the door, Leena\'s calm voice plunged through him.
\'\'Tell him or her. Wars begin when you will, but they donnot end when you please. The game is not over, it is just the beginning. You started. I will end it. I will pay back with interest ten folds."
Her tone was calm, but Nash felt the intensity. His hands went clammy. So, she has figured it out, after all. What plan did this woman is thinking now? Why hasn\'t she captured him? But one thing he understood about Leena. She is dangerous and wicked, a raging fire that cannot be put out.
Goosebumps raised over Kurt\'s skin as Leena\'s words pierced into his heart. Until now, he thought Leena was a crazy nut; of course, he can\'t deny the fact, but he has seen another shade of her.
Nash turned around, but what he saw was a calm expression in Leena\'s eyes.
\'\'Leave.\'\' Ordered Leena.
Swallowing hard, Nash left without looking back.
Pulling his thoughts together, Kurt glanced at Leena. "One round of third-degree interrogation, that bastard would spill out everything.\'\'
Shrugging her shoulders, Leena looked at Kurt. Gone was the dangerous vibe around her, and a cheerful face replaced it. \'\'What if Nash gives the false information? Let\'s say Nash revealed the truth. Can we find the person?\'\'
\'\'It\'s a cakewalk for the FBI_\'\'
\'\'That\'s where you are wrong. Think about it. If the person had planned Devin\'s murder perfectly without flaws, do you think he or she is an easy catch? He or she got some better backup. Before we overhaul, the person will slip out of our hands.\'\'
\'\'So, you are telling_\'\'
\'\'We have to find the person\'s identity first, and bring them out from darkness. So we need this scapegoat to execute the plan.\'\'
\'\'By now, he will raise his guards high,\'\' Kurt said.
\'\'I know, but for how long? Two Days? Two Weeks? Even an intelligent is bound to make a mistake at some point in time. We suffocate them to death, and make their hopes die."
Kurt nodded his in head in approval. Indeed, Leena is right.
\'\'I am missing my Devin already.\'\' She pouted. \'\'If he were here, I wouldn\'t have to use my brain to think.\'\'
\'\'What did you say?\'\' Kurt gnashed his teeth. Did she mean he was of no use sitting here?
\'\'I mean what I said, Mr. Swedish Butler.\'\' Leena dashed out of place with glee.
....
When the three emerged out of the house, Kurt suddenly remembered an important thing to talk about with Leena. \'\'Did you really hack into the police department.\'\' Initially, when he got wind of it, his thoughts went to Elysian. But then again, another idea hit his brain. Elysian targets are only big.
\'\'Are you asking as an FBI agent?\'\' Leena questioned.
\'\'What if I say no?\'\'
\'\'I don\'t care because you will never find I was the one who hacked it.\'\' Pressing her lips, Leena suppressed her laugh. \'\'If you can find my code name, knock on my house door with handcuffs.\'\' Having said that, Leena stepped into the car along with Nick.
The nerve of this woman! She has got features of that rascal Elysian.
....
Without making a noise, Leena slowly pushed open the door and walked towards the bed. Her smile broadened, watching Devin\'s sleeping face. Ah! The pills must have caused his drowsiness. \'\'I am back.\'\' Sitting at the edge of the bed, leaning forward, Leena pressing her lips on his.
\'\'It\'s nice to be back. I am excited,\'\' Devin whispered back and opened his eyes. With one tug, he pulled her into his embrace, causing Leena to fall on his chest.
\'\'Devin! No! you are not healed.\'\' Leena tried hard to get up, but his grip was too tight.
\'\'I am fine, Sweetheart.\'\' He said. \'\'How did it go_\'\'
\'\'I don\'t want to talk about it now\'\' Sleeping next to him, Leena glanced at his eyes with a smile. \'\'I want to spend time with you.\'\'
\'\'Am I tiring you with everything?\'\' Never, Devin felt helpless in his life. Instead of protecting Leena, he is making her run alone with his affairs.
\'\'You know what is the best relationship?\'\' She asked.
\'\'Enlighten me?\'\'
\'\'Talk like best friends, play like kids, argue like husband and wife, protect each other like siblings.\'\'
\'\'You are wrong, Sweetheart.\'\'
\'\'Why?\'\' She pouted.
\'\'We play like adults.\'\'
Blushing hard, she sank her face beside Devin\'s body. A while later, Leena called him. \'\'Devin. Are you sleepy?\'\'
\'\'Tell me, Sweetheart.\'\'
\'\'For a change, let\'s shift.\'\'
\'\'I was planning to ask already.\'\' He was thinking of asking Leena, but she voiced her opinion. Devin also wanted to tell her about the stalker but was scared of her reaction. For now, he will keep quiet.. Little did he know, sometimes nature was bound to take a course of action.
