Chapter 129 - When Leena Meets Devin
"You are as badass as I was in my twenties, lass. Only you are eligible to become my granddaughter in law." He slapped his thigh and turned to the woman behind him.
"Hey, frog faced ugly nurse. Do I have to remind you again? Take me to my granddaughter in law." He verbalized with a mocking tone.
With gritted teeth, the nurse wheeled him in the direction of the women.
"Let me take revenge on behalf of you." He winked at Leena and turned to the woman lying on the ground. "Wipe your mouth, bummer! There is still a tiny bit of bullshit around your lips."
"You dare to insult me, old hat!!!!" The woman screamed like a madwoman.
"I still haven't insulted yet. It's just that I am trying to describe your ghastly face." He threw back his head and roared in laughter.
All the time, Leena was looking at him stupefied with the way he was talking on behalf of her.
"How can he call me granddaughter in law without my permission." She whispered in a low voice.
With no intention to look at the ugly woman, he turned to Leena and straightaway moved to the point. "I have a grandson and he is very handsome."
"Sorry, aged fossil. I am already taken and no handsome man can beat my man." With a wink, Leena carried the kid and dragged Reese along with her.
"Aged fossil? I am still as strong as an Ox." He quickly pulled out his mobile and clicked a picture of Leena and when he got the clear portrait of her, with a victorious smile, he turned back facing the nurse. "Hey, fugly nurse, take me to my room. I don't want to see that disgusting woman's face."
"Grandpa, if you call me ugly again, I am going to leave you here." With gritted teeth, she pushed the wheelchair.
"You dare!" He threatened her.
...
With all the commotion happenings, the woman on the ground did not get up biting her stiletto painted nails. Her blood was boiling when the insults of two people were booming in her brain.
"How dare that bitch and old rag to humiliate me?"
"What happened to you, Regina!!" A man's voice came out loudly, a little away from her. His voice had a concern when he saw her pitiful state.
"Brother, Blake." Regina cried changing her entire facade and put on a pitiful act. "A woman pushed me onto the ground when I was trying to save a kid."
But internally, Regina was seething in outrage.
'That bitch dared to insult my face. I will make her life living hell.'
"I will check on her. For now, let's go home. You have to get this cleaned up." Blake grabbed his handkerchief and began dusting the grass out of her dress.
"But we are here to meet Sir's grandfather, right?" Regina asked in confusion. She took the time to select a traditional dress to impress Devin's grandfather and she was fretting in irritation that some stupid kid has spoiled it.
"We have to call it for a day, Regina. He is not willing to see anyone other than his family." Having said that, Blake took her out of the hospital.
"Oh!! All right. He must be resting. We will visit him next time." She plastered a sweet smile but internally her rage heightened when she heard the old man doesn't want to meet anyone.
'He wants to see only his family!! Fine! Soon I am going to become one in the family.'
...
The day has finally come and Devin was somewhat excited, at the same time scared if Leena would accept the sudden verity. He was sure, she would throw tantrums but he has an intuition that she would not get upset by it for a long time.
His thoughts broke when the office door was pushed open and entered a woman in full changeover. If Devin has not been with her from the days they were being children, he would have a hard time recognizing the woman in front of him.
"A_re you Harley?" He felt a sense of incredulity watching her turned into into a different person which he had never witnessed before. Her hair was painted in lilac color, the wavy curls at the edges foamed luxuriously. She was looking like a senorita in a black short sleeve wrap slim dress which she paired with the black pointed-toe heeled pumps.
"Yes, it's Harley for you, brother." With a wink, she asked him. "Do I look gorgeous?"
Devin simply nodded his head in a trance.
Taking a deep breath, she glanced at her wristwatch and added. "It's time. I have to receive our guest. Wish me luck."
Even after Harley left the place, Devin was still in confusion about her sudden shift.
"Now she started targeting my sweetheart leaving that pervert blogger? I will kill her if she comes near her premise." He tightly gripped his fists to control his outrage.
...
"It's time to go, Reese." With a frown, Leena looked away from the woman who was busy retouching her make up. Reese bargained for a dress from Leena paying half the price of the original dress since she is meeting her prince and wanted to wear it for the big day. Gladly, Leena offered it as she stopped wearing the dress for a long time. When she is getting half the fortune, she gave it to her right away.
"I am done." Reese glanced at Leena and scowled when she saw Leena was wearing an ordinary dress. "Why didn't you doll up, Leena? We are meeting the mighty CEO today."
"This dress is more than enough for that chickenshit." With a lazy tone, Leena put on her goggles and stepped out of the car.
It was the first time, Leena stepped into WD and she was impressed by the sleek sexy parabolic glass structure. Just when she entered the building along with Reese, a woman appeared to receive them.
"Hello, Leena! I am Harley. Executive Assistant of the CEO." With a nervous smile, Harley lent a handshake. When she glanced at her goddess, she wished she didn't. A breathtakingly beautiful, compared to the pictures she has seen. Harley was on cloud nine when the black dress she was wearing matched with Leena's way oddly.
"Pleased to meet you, Harley." Leena returned the handshake and introduced Reese to her. After the pleasantries, Leena was escorted to the topmost floor of the conference room.
...
Conference room...
The clock was ticking and time was passing. Leena was getting impatient when she has to wait for a longer time than she anticipated. She knew she was early by an hour but still, Leena was getting irritated to wait for that chickenshit. She wondered if he is making it deliberate for spreading rumors on him but she was least bothered. When she glanced at the count of employees sitting in the conference room, she sneered.
"Very well. The more the people, the more he will feel humiliated when I reject him." Leena whispered with a smile and her eyes scooted to the door when a woman strode into the room.
Dressed in a high waist pencil body con dress that stopped above her knees, the employees in the room gaped when she walked into the room, her amazing figure captivated the employees again and again. With a shy demeanor, she greeted the employees politely and strolled towards her seat while her eyes darted to the new woman when she heard that she has to become the designer for the new model.
A shock was plastered on her face when she saw the same woman from the hospital. All through her blood was boiling, she kept a smile throughout to maintain professionalism.
Leena stared at her with apathy thinking of the act she is putting up. It was no wonder that she has been masking the employees with her impeccable dramas.
"It's the nail-biting girl, Leena!" Reese whispered in ambush.
"What do you expect from that chickenshit CEO. He would have dozed off while interviewing that bummer." She whispered back to Reese while glancing at Regina in disdain. Leena wished to get out of this room as early as possible unable to tolerate her perfume odor.
"Where is your CEO? If I am not wrong, the meeting should have started by now." Leena spoke up, her eyes dropping on Harley demanding an answer.
Everybody was stunned when Leena voiced out her thoughts. The employees speculated that Leena should be happy about getting a pact with the mighty WD but she was arrogantly demanding. Little did they knew, it was the reverse case and only a few of them were aware of it.
Even before Harley could reply to Leena's question, the faint rugged footsteps sharply echoed the entire building like the booming heartbeat of a condemned prisoner. The commanding presence and confidence were speaking of his aura even from a distance.
"It can't be him. It must be my hallucination again." Leena deceived herself squeezing her heart when she heard the familiar footsteps.
The glass door was eventually pushed open and the man strolled into the enormous conference room, his custom suit embraced the sturdy build bestowing a kingly aura upon him.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I hope, you are not bothered by the little delay. With that being said, we will commence the meeting in five minutes, and before that, I want to introduce someone to you." His voice had a rough edge when he spoke and the entire conference room turned to a deafening silence in his presence. When he saw the shocking look on Leena's face, with a satisfying smile, he strolled to the chair.
From the time, he entered the conference room, Leena's brain was clogged, and only when the realization hit her, she came out of her trance and her heartbeat started drumming repeatedly
