Chapter 95: Yang Khan— The promoted pawn.
...
Yang Khan returned to his courtyard with a gloomy expression clouding his face, he was angry, devastated, and his mind was crumbling... His Dao heart, vital for cultivators was shattered.
And now, he was a mortal.
Bai Lung's words and actions had greatly humiliated him.
He, the one, who should be the supreme being, ruler of all, the one, who should reign supreme from East to West, is now a cripple, a trash.
He had never imagined even in his imagination that he would suffer such extreme humiliation.
Even women looked down on him now.
With a sad feeling in his heart, he jumped into bed, in hopes of never waking up, after all, he had become a shame.
However, just then, a small sound occurred.
'Thud!'
A small black stone had dropped into the floor, from a wooden table.
'Oh! The glowing stone...' Yang Khan thought looking at the black stone.
He doesn't know much about it, but he randomly found this stone long ago, however, he decided to keep it as this stone magically used to glow at night.
In the next instance, he turned his face down, having no energy or motivation to do anything, he still feels pain, be it physically, mentally, emotionally, or psychologically.
However, he couldn't fall asleep.
Thus,
Yang Khan stared back at the glowing black stone on the floor, its gentle light flickering in the dimly lit room.
A spark of intrigue momentarily interrupted his despair. He got up from bed, reached down and picked up the peculiar stone, turning it over in his palm.
As he did so, the stone began to pulsate with a faint energy casting some ancient runes, almost as if it were alive.
Yang Khan's eyes widened in surprise. This was no ordinary rock - it possessed some kind of mystical power.
In his current state of humiliation and hopelessness, anything that hinted at the supernatural was a welcome distraction.
Clutching the stone tightly, Yang Khan brought it closer to his face, studying it intently.
Perhaps this was a sign that all was not lost. The heavens had not completely abandoned him.
With a renewed sense of purpose, he stood straight, his mind racing with possibilities.
If this stone contained hidden abilities, maybe he could use it to regain his lost power and reclaim his rightful place.
A small flicker of hope began to rekindle within him.
His Dao heart is shattered, but he can always walk on other paths, it's just he possesses no talent in other fields
...
Yang Khan's fingers traced the smooth edges of the mysterious stone, his mind buzzing with intrigue.
What secrets did this unassuming rock hold to emit ancient runes? Gripping it tightly, he closed his eyes and focused, attempting to discern any hidden powers it possessed.
Suddenly, a jolt of energy surged through his body, causing him to gasp. It felt as though the stone was infusing him with a strange, newfound vitality.
His sea of consciousness, which had dried due to Dao Heart shattering, began to slowly recover, not just that, but a magical tree was growing at the center of his consciousness.
'B-Bodhi tree...' he said in his mind, heart pounding with excitement.
Yang Khan's eyes flew open in astonishment as he felt his cultivational abilities slowly returning to him... He was now a mind cultivator.
He has awakened profound consciousness.
"This...this can't be possible," he murmured, staring at the stone in wonder. "How is this happening?"
Mind cultivation opens up the path for alchemy, array making, rune mastery, and weapon forging ( celestial ), and possesses profound spiritual Qi compared to plain spiritual Qi.
A spark of hope ignited within him, chasing away the overwhelming despair that had consumed him just moments ago.
His hands and legs were shaking, at such a turn of events.
Perhaps all was not lost after all.
If this stone could help him walk in the path of Mind Cultivation, then maybe there was a way for him to regain the power and status he had so suddenly lost.
Filled with renewed determination, Yang Khan made his way to the center of the courtyard, the glowing stone clutched tightly in his hand.
He took a deep breath, focusing his mind, and began to slowly unleash his cultivational techniques, testing the limits of his revitalized abilities.
The familiar sensation of energy flowing through his blood filled him with a sense of euphoria.
His dazzling golden Qi, now, Profound Blue.
"Yes!" he exclaimed, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.
"I can feel it... This stone, it's the key to restoring my power!" not just previous power but more, mind cultivators are rare, not to mention, be it array master or alchemy master, you are destined to be respected.
He stared at the pulsating black stone, his mind thinking of multiple possibilities.
There was clearly more to this magical rock than met the eye.
He recalled the ancient texts he had studied, searching his memory for any clues about similar mystical artifacts.
Suddenly, a realization dawned on him. "Could this be...a Heaven-Defying Treasure?" he murmured, his eyes widening.
Such rare and powerful objects were the stuff of legends, said to have the ability to defy the very laws of the heavens.
If he could harness its true power, he might just be able to reach the pinnacle.
Holding the stone reverently, Yang Khan began to carefully examine it, searching for any inscriptions or markings that could provide a clue to its origins.
His goal was to let this stone emit the runes that it had previously shone.
As he ran his fingers over the smooth surface, he detected the faintest of engravings - a series of ancient characters that seemed to shimmer and dance inside his sea of consciousness.
"Fascinating..." he breathed, squinting to make out the words.
"This stone... it's not of this world. It must have been forged in the celestial realms themselves," A surge of excitement coursed through him, chasing away the lingering traces of despair.
He lost soul cultivation but got a chance to walk in the path of Mind cultivation, not to mention, that he just obtained an inheritance.
[ Yang Khan's luck value: 5000 ]
With renewed vigor, Yang Khan quickened his pace to visit the library, looking over the extensive collection of esoteric texts and scrolls.
Right now, he was feeling more than just happy, and if he could learn more, he would truly ascend.
