Building a Gaming Empire From Scratch

Chapter 515: 497: What I give you is truly yours!

“@All members! Veteran rallying order! Everyone who is still alive come out and make some noise!”

Months have passed, and “Assassins’ Alliance” in Daxia has a sense of being yesterday’s news, not to mention, the [Whirlpool Forum Player Alliance] has been quiet for a long time as well.

In fact, most of the players have already set this group chat to “DO NOT DISTURB” mode.

Not only the [Whirlpool Forum Player Alliance] but most other player alliances do the same.

Only the anchors, due to the nature of their profession which requires them to put effort into maintaining their fan communities, managed to keep their alliance’s group chat active.

But even those with the highest activity levels can’t compare to the popularity they enjoyed during the [Freedom Day] era.

This is the main reason why no one responded when the player nicknamed [Pumpkin Man] requested help.

But now, with the group owner’s order, all members received a special reminder, and this massive group of 3,000 people…

Is alive!

“Who dares to mess with our people? Hold on! I’m going to buy the game right now!”

“Forming a group! I’m on my way!”

“I’ve just been killed off too, we can’t do this without others, let’s stick together!”

“The group owner truly is as vigorous as ever!”

“Getting stronger with age!”

“An old warhorse!”

“Immortal oldbies!”

After a short tangent, the group chat started to flatter the group owner.

Regrettably, the group owner didn’t appreciate it—

“Bugger off! Who the hell is old? I’m only 18 this year!”

“Enough with the idle chatter, let’s do a headcount, how many people bought “My World”? I’ll post a vote, those who bought it cast a one, let me see how many we can gather.”

“Oh, wrong! Cast a one if you bought “My World” and plan to join us in the Public World. If you don’t like crowds, fights, and prefer to play with a few of your friends, then don’t vote.”

Ignoring the ensuing jokes like “The group owner has found the fountain of youth!”, “18 years old this year, 17 next year!”, “Immortal!”, the group owner quickly set up a vote with two simple and brutal options—

[Option One: Bought the game, let’s play together!]

[Option Two: Next time for sure.]

The instructions were clear, and then the number of members voting for [Option One] soared rapidly.

Some even voted while saying in the chat: “I’m in! I’m going to place an order right away!”

“Me too! I thought it was a boring building game, who knew it could be so exciting!”

“Awesome! Let’s start a world war!”

Despite both being groups formed because of “Assassins’ Alliance”, in our group, the number of players who purchased “My World” is far less than in Super Tomato’s group.

Probably because the Whirlpool Forum is such an old gaming forum—its players are known for being hardcore, heavy-duty gamers, and when Cloud Dream only had two games, “Traveler of the Wind” and “Assassins’ Alliance”, most people in the group were hardcore gamers.

They typically weren’t very interested in casual games.

After watching the “My World” trailer and realizing it was a casual game with a distinct building style, and that its weapons seemed childlike, many weren’t interested and didn’t buy it immediately.

Even Yi, who was usually keen, wasn’t interested. You can imagine the attitudes of these die-hard gamers.

But now, as soon as they noticed this game differed from their imagination and predicting future wars and disputes, their enthusiasm was immediately ignited.

Moreover, they would be playing together with their brothers. So why not?

Let’s go for it!

The count for [Option One: Bought the game, let’s play together!] skyrocketed, and in the end, an absurd 2831 votes were cast.

Even if some people were just joining the bandwagon, it’s a very striking proportion.

Then, the group owner [Second Injury] didn’t hesitate any longer: “@ Pumpkin Man, report your ID, start pulling people in!”

“How many should I pull?” Pumpkin Man asked.

“As many as you can!” The group owner responded with overflowing confidence, “I’ll send out a collaborative document, those who can participate fill in their IDs.”

“Okay, start pulling!”

“Great!” Pumpkin Man was overjoyed. “My friends are still chasing those ten or so people!”

“Perfect!” The group owner responded swiftly and precisely.

Obviously, those ten or so people are about to face a massive retaliation!

Despite the numerous anchors being surrounded, the location where Super Tomato was located remained exceptionally calm.

Even if Masked Men appeared, they just took a few distant glances and then disappeared.

Sharing some aesthetic commonality, they too chose to halt at the edge of a lake, stopping the extensive land-straightening operation. Instead, they started to diligently build a base.

Step one: flatten the terrain.

Super Tomato set a unified goal for everyone from the start: to build the Heaven Hall!

At this current stage, most people thought that this was nonsense, it was too outrageous, and virtually impossible.

How can they possibly use some cubes to build a solemn, dignified, and exquisite hall like the Heaven Hall?

It didn’t seem possible.

But Super Tomato kept encouraging everyone, “Absolutely possible, I have one hundred percent confidence!”

“There is really hope, I have already started designing the blueprints.”

“Give it a try, we won’t know if we don’t try”.

At his earnest persuasion, everyone accepted this goal, whether it worked or not, they would deal with it when the time came.

It’s just a game!

According to the blueprints – well, they could hardly be considered blueprints, that Super Tomato posted in the group chat, everybody started earthworks, flattening the large area of land and hills by the lake, and replacing them with a stone foundation.

Then came the walls and pillars.

The scale of this building was truly astonishing. Just the walls alone exhausted all the stones they had collected along the way.

As a natural course of action, people began to spread out and collect building materials from the surroundings.

Only about twenty players remained on site, continuing to build the architectural details.

Since their arrival in the Public World, this had been the lowest number of members Super Tomato’s team had.

Then, the ambush – still came!

Super Tomato, as a premier anchor, his location and movement were naturally under the spotlight.

Other anchors had been ambushed. How could he possibly avoid it?

The attackers just hadn’t found the opportunity because he had previously had over a hundred people together.

However, the attackers were not content – they did indeed disappear, not by leaving but by digging down on the spot.

They didn’t all dig down though; they left one or two people on the edge to watch out for opportunities.

In this way, the cluster of players looking to cause trouble around Super Tomato’s team grew bigger. Even initiating communication, they joined forces. By the time Super Tomato’s team members scattered to collect supplies, there were already more than seventy people on edge.

If they waited any longer, they would likely gather more people than Super Tomato did.

However, now, Super Tomato’s team had let their guard down, and in order to collect materials separately, the base’s defense was unprecedently vulnerable. This provided them with an excellent opportunity to attack!

And so

“Brothers! Charge!!!”

A loud voice suddenly echoed through the sky.

Players decked in full armor and iron helmets popped out from all directions underground like groundhogs, charging straight towards the Heaven Hall without any hesitation!

The defending players were shocked and rushed forward to defend.

The problem was: they had only about twenty people, the other side had more than seventy!

Even if it were one against two, the opposition would still have thirty more people!

There was no way they could fight them!

In just three short minutes, all the beds for respawning and the remaining players, including “chief designer” Super Tomato, were all killed.

Then, these people began to dismantle the place.

As they dismantled, someone yelled: “Don’t be too anxious, they are scattered out! Reinforcements won’t come all at once, we can take out these groups one by one! As many as there are, as many will die!”

Another person had already taken action, placing a few square blocks under his feet, climbing the highest pillar, observing the distance and reporting to everyone.

“There is reinforcement from the south, a team of seven! Prepare for the enemy!”

But just as his voice fell, suddenly ten 4×4 big holes appeared on the base of the hall, and numerous armored players kept pouring up from underground!

They rushed towards the scattered attackers who had been dismantling the base’s foundation, walls, and pillars.

“What the hell?” The lookout player on the pillar was shocked, “Beware! There’s an ambush… shit!”

Before he could finish his warning, an arrow flew straight into his forehead – he had just taken off his helmet to keep watch.

He was quite frightened!

But luckily, he quickly reacted: in this game, a headshot wasn’t fatal, he was still very much alive.

However, in the next moment, another eight consecutive arrows hit his chest, easily piercing through his body as if the iron armor didn’t exist.

Actually, the iron armor did reduce some of the damage, but the remaining damage was still enough to kill him.

At the same time, the troops from the ambush soon counter-surrounded the troublemakers, charged, and randomly wielded their swords, ready to kill them all!

In the blink of an eye, the dozens of attackers were divided by the troops who had been waiting in ambush, found themselves at a disadvantage, and dropped like flies, their dropped items scattered everywhere.

The resurrected Super Tomato, wearing his iron armor and golden helmet, stood in the center of the Heaven Hall’s foundation, stepped onto a block, and looked around the battlefield.

Looking grand and imposing as he observed the enemies who were on the verge of collapse, he said-

“Only what I give you is yours! If I don’t give it, you can’t take it!”
