Chapter 9 - 9 With the System in Hand, No Worries About Food and Clothing
After the sales manager finished speaking, her gaze fell on Lin Yi, filled with inquiry.
“Thank you, sales manager; we’ll be fine on our own, please don’t mind us, and go ahead with your work!”
Lin Yi said politely.
The sales manager escorted them to the door of the house and notified the relevant staff members. She gave them a polite smile, turned around, and left to attend to her own business.
“Vivi, I think we should move in first! Your belly is getting bigger day by day, and I’m really worried about you living in the dormitory alone.”
“If we live together, I can take care of you all the time, which is much more convenient.”
Lin Yi looked at Han Xuewei and said.
Han Xuewei turned her head to look at her parents, then at Lin Yi’s parents, trying to gauge their reaction.
Both sets of parents, feeling her gaze, smiled knowingly but remained noncommittal.
Han Xuewei immediately made up her mind and spoke, “You make the decision; I have no objections.”
Han Xuewei felt very sweet inside; she always liked Lin Yi. What happened was just an accident.
Unexpectedly, Lin Yi was not only mild-tempered and purposeful in his actions, but also particularly responsible. Regardless of the level of affection, he took great care of her.
Lin Yi’s performance made Han Xuewei very satisfied.
Their parents, walking behind them, kept an eye on the two young people from the corners of their eyes. Seeing that they negotiated and agreed with each other, they were completely relieved.
As parents, they didn’t ask for much; they just hoped their children could live safely and well, which was sufficient.
After a while, Lin Yi’s mother found the right moment to pull him aside and asked with concern, “My good boy, please tell your mom honestly, where did all this money come from?”
“Don’t try to fob me off, kid. Even a year ago, the real estate prices there were definitely not cheap. I know how much money you have.”
Lin Yi looked at his mother and smiled a little, patted her hand, and assured, “Mom, you can relax; your son is not a scoundrel.”
“I can assure you, this money is absolutely clean, and there isn’t the slightest illegal thing involved. Your son wouldn’t touch that with even a ten-foot pole.”
“There’s no point in hiding it from you now. Over the years, the pocket money you and dad have given me wasn’t a small amount, I guess you also don’t keep much track of it.”
“I’ve been frugal and saved up, and I learned to invest in stocks and made quite a bit of money, only I never dared to tell you.”
“The money for this villa comes from there. But after buying this villa, there isn’t much left. I’ll need you and dad to worry and take care when I get married.”
Upon hearing the money was legally earned, Lin Yi’s mother’s anxiety eased and she said, “Regarding the wedding, be completely reassured. Your father and I have been saving for it.”
“The only thing I’m worried about is that you two have just graduated from college and have no jobs yet, and there are three children to support. As parents, we will definitely help whenever we can.”
As for the future life, Lin Yi didn’t worry at all. After all, his phone still had a full 2 million lying in it.
Besides, with the system at hand, food and clothing are the least of his concerns.
He was determined not to let his wife and children suffer even the slightest grievance.
Thinking of this, he turned his head and said to his mother, “Mom, don’t worry about this, your son isn’t a lazy man. As soon as I get my diploma, I’ll start working right away.”
“I will absolutely not let Vivi and the child suffer even a tiny bit. My wife is beautiful as a flower, and even if she wanted to endure hardships, I wouldn’t have the heart to let her do so.”
Han’s mother, walking not far away, heard Lin Yi’s words and felt very satisfied.
She silently praised him, It seems this young man is quite responsible. My daughter has good judgment. Having a man like him to accompany her for life is indeed a fortunate thing.
But her own daughter hadn’t finished university yet and her career was not settled, and now at such a young age, she was becoming a mother, which filled her with regret.
It seemed that she needed to take her annual leave soon and come over to help out.
Han’s mother explored the villa, which was quite large. She was happy in her heart, thinking that her daughter had finally married into a good family. With a house and a child, she could still find work later on, and life would gradually get better.
Now, with the help of both sets of parents, they probably wouldn’t suffer too much.
Thinking of this, Han’s mother pulled Han Xuewei aside and said, “Vivi, marriage is no trifling matter. You need to think it through carefully.”
“Mom, don’t worry, I’ve thought it through. I like him, and spending a lifetime with him wouldn’t be bad,” said Han Xuewei as she looked seriously at Lin Yi.
Han’s mother sighed softly and said, “Since you’ve decided, I won’t say more. I can see that your in-laws are quite easy to get along with.”
“But now, with the situation as it is, your studies can only be put aside. After all, you’re carrying triplets. The further along you get, the more difficult it will be. You must be mentally prepared.”
“In terms of finances, both parents can lend a hand, but in daily life, we shouldn’t get too involved. It’s entirely up to you. From now on, you should prioritize your family and live your life well.”
“All those little tempers and impetuousness from before, it’s time to curb them as well. Becoming a mother means your life isn’t just about romance and beauty, but countless heavy responsibilities.”
Han Xuewei, moved by her mother’s words, lowered her head, not wanting her mom to see her emotions, and could only reply softly, “Please rest assured, Mom. I understand.”
She looked up slightly and saw Lin Yi ahead, and breathed a sigh of relief.
The man before her was the one she loved. To be able to walk through life together, and to have each other’s children, was truly one of life’s great blessings.
It was definitely better than forming a family with someone incompatible.
After the parents toured the villa, they decided on the spot that the marriage of the two kids would be handled after the birth of the child.
Lin Yi’s parents were very reasonable and immediately set the dowry at 288,000.
They promised to prepare everything and decided not to let Han Xuewei suffer any grievances.
As Han Xuewei’s body became increasingly heavy – though she was only three months pregnant with triplets, her belly was comparable to someone five months into a single pregnancy.
That night, led by Lin Yi and Han Xuewei, both sets of parents rushed to the dormitory, hastily packed up their belongings, and moved them to the villa.
A pregnant woman needed many things, and as mothers themselves, they had ample experience.
They instructed Han Xuewei to rest well and hurried to the necessary places to prepare everything needed.
Before long, the living room was filled with all sorts of items.
Everything prepared, the parents finally left.
