Chapter 397 Final Preparations
Chapter 397 Final Preparations
Elder Ana?lle, upon meeting Alex, immediately disclosed that she could evolve into the World Tree by consuming the core of her brother, the tree of darkness.
In the process, she would lose all or most of who she was and evolve into a higher yet different being, but she was fully content in making this sacrifice.
She believed that as Elves were responsible for killing her brother, they must also hold his core as using it as an ingredient or consuming it would be near impossible, and instead using it as an energy core or in a smiler use would give them more benefits.
Alex believed her words could be true, but chances were very low, and the reason he believed was because if the core was in the Elven Empress's possession, then Boras stealing it from her in his previous life made sense.
Boras being declared a wanted criminal with a massive reward on his head by the elves and being hunted by the various big organizations also strengthens the fact that he stole something that held significant importance to the Empress and was not just done out of pride.
The reason Alex didn't believe that Elves possessed the core was because saving the Emperor from the Elves and curing him in seven months was only the initial stage of the quest.
Beyond that, he still had to provide additional assistance to fulfill the quest, which was still categorized as a continental- grade mission.
The tasks to find the eleven Monarch legacy Ring, find the hidden place that was keeping the Tree of Light, and then find a suitable legacy candidate were all challenging tasks, but for Alex, even without his future knowledge, these tasks didn't hold the same difficulty.
Alex received the quest because he already had the legacy ring, and the information about the Dryad Empire was just the trigger for him to gain the quest.
So acquiring the legacy Ring, which was the most difficult task, was already completed, and completing the following wouldn't pose too much of a challenge.
Considering all this, Zero would be feeling truly generous to hand him such a quest and categorize it as a world-grade quest with grand rewards.
Alex could be wrong and just overthinking the situation, but even if the core was in the possession of the elves, and as much as the core of darkness possessed importance because it would bring back a near-extinct race, he needed Boras to take him to the secure place to save the Emperor.
After he gets away with the Emperor, Boras would be lucky not to get hunted throughout every continent, like he was in his previous life, and acquiring the core without stealing it would also be a near-impossible task if it was even the possession of the elves.
"I comprehend your predicament, so that is why I am going to wait until you save the Human Emperor, then pay a visit to the elven Empress and demand the core of my brother," Elder Ana?lle said, with a smile like the issue was of no concern.
"Elder, I do not want to dishearten you, but I have strong reasons to believe that either the Elves don't have the core, or if they do, it is not going to be as easy as forcing them to give it up," Alex said, his reasoning being the world grade quest.
"I comprehend your concerns," Elder Ana?lle replied, keeping her kind smile and saying nothing further.
"Now, let me tell you what I think we should do to make Boras get close to the Empress and not be forced into her slave or outright get executed by her,"
"The Elven Empress would know about her history, and knowing that I will find out about it sooner or later and could cause them trouble, she would either come clean and blame her ancestors or try to eliminate me,"
"As we can't take this risk, Boras will reveal the concealed space, and about his legacy, and as for how his bloodline was changed, it would be through this pool of rebirth," Elder Ana?lle said, and like waiting for her command, the ground surrounding her began to shift.
The ground was elevated in a circle around the pearlescent tree, establishing a boundary with six intricate pillars with designs to hold orbs above them.
The pillars and boundary began exhibiting signs of aging as cracks, moss, dirt, and corrosion manifested, giving the impression that the structure had been present for centuries.
"The Elves will discover me in a state of vegetative unconsciousness, subtly enhancing the bloodlines of individuals with significant Light element talent."
"Even if they are unaware of my agreement with Monarch Selfok, they will assume that, out of boredom and loneliness of staying in this confined space for centuries, I have entered a profound slumber, fulfilling my duty unconsciously."
"After they confirm my condition, they will want to control Boras, and he could use that as leverage to not only get you to the Emperor but also see if he could get any info on the core,"
"I have also given Boras the means to not be affected by law oaths or get caught in anything," Elder Ana?lle said, making Alex smile, knowing the same events would have played out in his previous life.
"Thanks for everything," Alex said, happy with how things were developing.
As there was nothing else to discuss with Elder Ana?lle, Alex talked with Boras, telling him how they needed to save the Emperor but kept the consequences of the Emperor's death to himself.
Because Boras was still a child and had never seen true violence, even in the Ancient world, so knowing about the complete truth would affect him mentally.
Alex displayed Boras his Dark elf persona and told him that once he was in Elven Palace, he should find him in the training area of the Royal guards and, from there, keep him by his side with the excuse of training and as a personal guide.
Alex went over all the small and big details of what he could and could not do and how he needed to deal with various guilds, public or hidden, making sure his identity stayed a secret.
After making sure that Boras understood the mission, they both made their way out of the concealed space and while Alex swiftly left the area, Boras made his way to the entrances, only hiding his name to protect his identity.
Boras stirred quite a commotion with his presence, and all the higher-ups in the vicinity gathered around him, bombarding him with questions about his origin, as they could sense his noble and pure bloodline and also that he was an immortal adventurer.
Boras did as planned, announcing that he was the chosen of an Ancient Elven Emperor, Monarch of Light, and the following few minutes were of pure chaos, as even if an Elf wanted to deny it, he was forced to reconsider seeing what was before his eyes.
It didn't take long for the Royal Warden, who was always present in the Eldoria Vale, to arrive and take control of the situation.
In a matter of moments, after he laid eyes on Boras, the Warden left with him, vanishing in the folds of space, leaving behind hundreds of baffled individuals who were trying to comprehend what they just saw.
Alex left the area, knowing it wouldn't take long for the news to spread like wildfire and unlike the last time, every major clan would fight to get Boras to their side, and while he would not be joining any clan other than the Aelthion clan, he would be treated much more nicely this way.
Boras was taken to a Royal Elder, an uncle to the Elven Empress, and after he shared that he had a big secret that he would only share with the Empress, he was taken to her.
After making sure they were in private, Boras shared about the Hidden Space and told her about the Pool of Rebirth, and the whole story of how he was teleported to the place, and how the pool transformed his bloodline.
Alex understood that the elves would want to keep the concealed place and even Boras's identity a secret as they did in his previous life.
Showing that he trusted the Empress would make it clear to her that she could manipulate and mold him into a loyal servant to her clan, in turn showering him more favors.
Alex returned to his daily life as a Royal guard, not putting any focus on the ongoing event, knowing that just clearing a single continental task would give him enough Event points to place first, but it was not like he cared about it for the time being.
As Alex had expected, all major clan heads arrived in the Elven Royal capital on that very day, even those that had no chance of securing Boras, and their trip was not wasted as they got to be the first ones to learn about the concealed place.
