Chapter 1032: 16.78 First Red Star - The Past of the Twins.
At this point in time, the Templar Temple is regarded as one of the world's greatest contenders, even surpassing the other two races. The distinction between having a leader and not having one is significant. At the same time, the human race had persecuted the other two races so viciously that several minor clans had become extinct. Regrettably, these events were carried out without Keylan Light's knowledge or consent. He had no idea why such things were happening, and he had to protect the temple from the other races' assaults.
Most of those that came out to hint were under the directions of the Founder's immediate disciple, Kenan Light, at the time. Once his and Luciel's whole clan was slaughtered, he simply despised the other two races. Just the two of them managed to escape and were rescued by Keylan Light. In truth, the Keylan Light desired Luciel as his direct disciple rather than Kenan. Sadly, Luciel is an independent youth who was born with the capacity to regulate his strength. Kenan and Luciel were brothers, however unlike Luciel, Kenan was born as an ordinary person, whilst Luciel was born as a special human with the ability to naturally wield light elements. Kenan Light was envious of his brother.
As Kenan Light became a direct student of Keylan Light, he was elevated beyond the Temple's elders. People also pay attention to his commands since he is the holy son. Luciel, on the other hand, rose to the position of youngest cardinal only by his strength and contribution. This makes Kenan Light despise his brother even more, and he sends him on most hunting excursions, the more risk the better. Even though Luciel Dawn was aware of his brother's mental state, he was unconcerned. Life is uninteresting for him, and he doesn't care what he does as long as he isn't bored.
On one of the missions, Luciel Dawn was tasked with ambushing a party of noble vampires on their way home. This mission was assigned to Luciel, and its hazard level is red. It was a death mission since the aristocratic class vampires were stronger than any human ought to be. Luciel Dawn accepted this mission on his own and ambushed the vampires.
It just so happens that this group was led by Thana Daybreak in her teens. She was a bit wild when she was younger and didn't get along with her peers. They tormented and ostracized her, and she escaped the traps Luciel Dawn had set along the route. They battled until both were severely injured. Thana Daybreak was the first to die, and just as Luciel Dawn was ready to deliver the last blow, another group of aristocratic vampires appeared. These are the descendants of those slaughtered by Luciel Dawn.
They dealt with Luciel Dawn, but in their grief at having their young masters and young ladies slaughtered while Thana Daybreak was not, they considered her as a traitor and intended to kill her as well. Thana Dawn no longer fights for her life and instead prepares to die. Who would have guessed Luciel Dawn would save her and accompany her on their escape? Thana Daybreak survived, but her clan was labeled as traitors to the Blood Race and was massacred, leaving Thana as the solitary survivor of the Daybreak Clan.
Thana Daybreak despised Luciel Dawn for this, but she was happy that he had spared her life. She had lost her family, tribe, and even her house. She had nowhere to go and it was hazardous for her to be outside alone. In the end, Luciel Dawn let her reside in his apartment, and they live their own lives together. It didn't take them long to fall in love. Yet, love between two races is considered forbidden regardless of race. Luciel Dawn departed the Templar Temple, but the temple would not let go of its most powerful cardinal.
As a result, Luciel Dawn may only flee and hide with Thana Daybreak. They called their firstborn son Esther Dawn when they ultimately had children. The twin who hasn't yet been born comes next. They were concerned about the child because having twins is risky in this world. Infants require as much energy as possible not just from their mother but also from the outside environment. Twins who remain in one location can only be eaten. At one of the Dawn Family twins' check-ups, the doctor delivered some bad news.
"I'm sorry. One of the twins is too weak while the other is too strong. As expected the youngest one cannot hold on. I wish for the parents to get ready. Only one of the twins can live," The doctor said.
Upon hearing this Thana Daybreak was already in tears even Luciel Dawn felt forlorn by the bad news. The Young Esther Dawn didn't know anything at that time but when he saw his parents crying, he couldn't help but feel that something must have gone wrong for his younger siblings.
Luciel Dawn asked, "Is there... Is there really no other way to save the little one?"
The doctor could only shake his head sadly and said, "Unfortunately, our medicine in this era isn't enough. I don't know why the big twin devours so much energy, even the one that was meant for the other twin was taken by it. To save the other one, we can only pray to Gods. But... I hope you get ready of the other one losing and disappearing in the womb."
"I can't... Both are my babies. Why do I have to lose one?" Thana Daybreak said her mood has become sardonic ever since she became pregnant.
Luciel Dawn comforted his wife and said, "Don't cry, sweetheart. Think of our babies. You shouldn't cry too much, it's bad for your health. It's okay. I will think of a way. There must be a way, I promise you."
He kissed his wife on the forehead, but the doctor next to them opened and closed his lips as if he wanted to say anything, but the doctor realized it was better to calm the pregnant lady first than rebut about the husband's statements.
Once the Dawn Family had left the hospital, someone approached the doctor and inquired about Thana Daybreak and the family who had just dropped by. The doctor was professional and had no intention of disclosing his patient's details. Finally, after being intimidated by his own family, the doctor revealed everything. But the shame was too much for him, and he quit as a doctor and returned home to his family.
Kenan Light was the one who researched the Dawn Family in the facility. When his brother departed the Templar Temple without alerting anybody, all tasks in the temple have stalled, including the top-level mission that only Luciel Dawn could complete. He will not allow his brother go now that he has discovered signs of him.
Kenan Light mumbles, "Found you, brother~"
That night, I stayed at the Dawn Family's home. They purchased a mansion near the Central Region but distant from the Templar Temple's territory. Thana Dawn was exhausted from sobbing as well as despair. No mother would be pleased to find that she can only keep one of her two children. She does, after all, adore all of her children.
In the middle of the night, Luciel Dawn awoke and went to his office, where he drew a magic circle on the floor. This is one of the circle summonings for Gods found in the Templar Temple's Forbidden Library. After growing up in the Templar Temple, he spent his time reading literature and even discovered a secret entry to the prohibited section. He read every book imaginable and remembered all he had read.
One of them was God summoning. To summon a God, one must first offer a piece of his soul. Luciel Dawn begs the skies to preserve his kid, and they agree on one condition. The other child can only exist in a world that is not theirs. It is up to fate if he may return home in the future. Luciel Dawn paused for a time, telling God that he needed to consult with his wife first before making a choice. The Heavens agreed and granted him a day to make his decision.
Luciel Dawn told his wife, Thana Daybreak, about what God had advised the next morning. Thana Daybreak was initially dismayed and grieved, but ultimately consented. After all, being alive is preferable to being dead. What she didn't realize was that her child would have to face poverty, misery, and death in a world where she is the only one who lives, with no friends or relatives to depend on.
Their choice was transmitted to the skies, and God approved. The heavens guarded the twins' spirits until their physical bodies were finished. The Heavenly Laws imparted consciousness to two souls: one weak, which is Athan's soul, and one powerful, which is Amber's soul.
The Heavenly Laws said, "Only one of you can stay. The weak one can come with me and I will help you be reborn in another world as your parents wish."
"A-Alone? C-Can I... not go? Afraid. I'm afraid." The soul of Athan Vladimir said.
Amber Dawn said, "I will take my sibling's place. He is too weak and too timid. It would be dangerous for him to live alone."
"Are you sure? It would be almost impossible to return here once you live. Your abilities can only be used here and only your strong physical body remains in that world." The Heavenly Laws said.
Amber Dawn said, "I don't care. I will be okay!"
"No! No... I will go. I can leave. It's my fault I'm weak but... You cannot leave, it will be lonely there. I will go instead. I-I... not afraid."
Despite his strong words the fear from his voice cannot be hidden. Amber noticed that and said,
"You are scared. I will go alright. Protect brother, Mom and Dad while I am away. I will be back." Amber Dawn said.
Athan Vladimir said, "Use my vessel then. So that even if that body broke or dies you can still return to your original body. I will agree to take your place if you agree to this condition. If you agree I will be the one to go."
"Hah~ okay. I agreed."
"Since you guys are done talking we can go now. Amber Dawn, I shall now bring you to another world. Only when the time is right can you return. To avoid you from going mad, I shall seal your memories of this world. Until the day you come back here in our world." The Heavenly Laws said.
On that day one of the twins disappeared in the womb but the Dawn Family wasn't surprised yet their tears couldn't help but fall. After all, it was still their own family who was leaving. Going to a place far away from them.
