Chapter 716

Chapter 716

The flying ship kept shaking as Yun Xiajie was in a rage. His aura continued to spread making his surroundings shake even Zhi Yue felt instinctive fear whenever the Lord God was angry. But his eyes accidentally wander to the shaking bed which made him realize the only way to curb Lord God Ye’s anger.

Zhi Yue said urgently, “My lord! Lord Yun! Calm down, please! Lord Hei is still sleeping!!”

Yun Xiajie immediately took back his aura and looked at his beloved on the bed. The shaking made the blanket covering his Jing’er fall down to his legs even though his arm was out of place. He stood and helped his beloved return to his usual position even pulling up the blanket that fell to his legs.

He keeps looking at his lover as he helps him swipe the stray hair that covers his cheeks. Then look guilty that he had disturbed his beloved’s slumber.

Yun Xiajie spoke, “Are you telling me, Jing’er was in purgatory for ten years and just recently got out of it?”

“Yes. Lord Hei was in Purgatory all this time. Just recently, the Immortal Empress had gotten the imperial court to get her son out of that place. Together with the eldest king and his other half, they brought out Lord Hei.”

.....

“Please don’t take it wrong. Though it was the order of the Immortal Emperor that Lord Hei ended up in Purgatory, the hall of righteousness originally wanted him to get punished with banishment and destroy his divinity. By doing so, Lord Hei would perish beyond what this world has. To protect Lord Hei he could only punish him by entering purgatory and this is something Lord Hei had suggested himself. Because banishment means he would be forced to leave this star and live a life as a Stray God.”

“Lord Hei did not want to leave this star and choose to enter the purgatory itself.”

Yun Xiajie asked, “If he was stripped of his divinity and left this star would he be able to survive?”

“Yes. After all, Lord Hei is a God unrestricted by anything in this world unless he allows them to restrain him,” answered Zhi Yue.

Yun Xiajie as if knowing the reason why his beloved chose to stay in this world made his heart uncomfortable. If there is one being that tied him up in this star then it can only be him. The oath bearer whom he had promised to.

Seeing that the Lord God had stopped asking Zhi Yue to tell him what he knows about Lord Hei’s life in the Upper Realm because he knows that the latter is still listening.

“Before Lord Hei descended the lands of mortals as Bai Wuan, he and the god of punishment were summoned to the Imperial Palace. In which the two had received their duties which can only be fulfilled when they enter the mortal realm.”

“As the God of Punishment and God of Judgement, their role is to keep the peace between the three realms. They had to descend because of the news of the Devil Race wanting to invade the Mortal Realm. But in order to do that without wasting time for their bodies to be converted they were reincarnated as a mortal. King Wuan was reborn as Bai Wuan of the (White Frozen Water Sect) Bai Lengshui Sect.”

“Of course, they were reborn without their memories as immortals. Only their mission was left imprinted in their souls. So their mission is to kill the vessel of any Devils who would come to the mortal realm. Lord Hei had been killing the vessels of the lesser devils who entered your world. Only...”

Yun Xiajie knew the following words after what Zhi Yue would say next and said, “He felt that the devil race had trapped him and used the person who is the most important to him in this world, which is me. The Devil Race targets the humans in the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect and among all the humans the devils seduced, my father was the one who ended up getting bewitched and Jing’er couldn’t just kill him because of me.”

“In the end, to complete his mission, he absorbed the devil’s soul into his body and asked me to kill him. This way he would be able to complete his mission without harming my father.”

“If this is the case, why did he still get punished? Didn’t he complete his mission?” asked Yun Xiajie.

Zhi Yue said, “He did complete his mission, but the first thing he did after returning to the Heavenly Realm is to steal all the souls of the mortals from the underworld of those who died because of him and threw them all to the reincarnation pool and helped them resume their life before they’ve died. He broke the rules of the heavens and destroyed the book of life and death so those whom he revived wouldn’t get pulled back to the underworld as their names were all removed from the list of dead souls. Immortals who get involved with mortals for self-justification is a taboo. He got punished because he did this and was thrown to Purgatory as punishment for 10 years in accordance with the time of the mortal realm.”

“The reason my uncle, my sect members, and his foster clan all come back to life is that he went against heaven. There is no need for him to do this! I never blame him for my uncle’s death. That was done by the demon cultivators who sided with the devils,” said Yun Xiajie.

Zhi Yue said, “That’s Lord Hei’s decision. He has never been one to change his decision because of others. It wouldn’t change even if Lord Yun got involved.”

“You weren’t able to stop him when he decided to absorb the devil’s soul from Lord Yun’s father. Stopping him from reviving the family who took good care of him and the people whom Lord Yun cares for, is also impossible.”

A helpless expression appeared on Yun Xiajie’s face because he knew that every word Zhi Yue had said was all fact.

Chun Hongyun-Jun said, “You are right, Yue. Jing’er is a very decisive person especially when it comes to his family and me.”

Zhi Yue said, “Lord Yun had nothing to worry about this time. Because after what happened the Imperial Empress had given those who are connected to Lord Hei and to Lord Yun a blessing that prevents the devil’s from getting involved with them. They wouldn’t be able to use the same plan as what they did in the past.”

“Though... If Lord Yun is planning to ascend back with Lord Hei, I hope the Lord would be prepared. The Imperial Emperor, Imperial Empress, Imperial King, and Imperial Queen were all quite well... Disappointed... No, it is more correct to say that they hate Lord Yun a bit because of what happened with Lord Hei. I hope you become a bit stronger than you planned to be before you ascended. The Imperial King and Imperial Queen wanted to beat you up. Do your best, my Lord! GANBATTE!” said Zhi Yue.

Yun Xiajie was a bit dazed. Before he could meet his in-laws he had longed to make them upset especially his brothers-in-law, he would need to get prepared to be beaten if he ever ascended to the upper realm.

“Hm. I need... to thicken my skin for a bit,” mumbled Yun Xiajie.

The flying boat was quite fast but Zhi Yang still controlled it at a speed that would allow Lord Hei to sleep peacefully. It still took half a day to get back to the territory of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect.

Arriving at the mountain ranges in the Western Lands...

The disciples of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect were quite startled to see a flying boat appear above their heads. The flying boat itself was quite large and was enough to cover a whole mountain peak.

Their arrival caused commotion among the disciples.

“What is that? Something is flying over?”

“Intruders? Let’s report to the elders!”

“Stop! Didn’t the elders announce the return of Chun Hongyun-Jun and his Dao Companion!? Prepare to accept the guests!”

“But the ship is flying away... Towards the direction where the Red Cloud Peak is located.”

“Then it must be Chun Hongyun-Jun as expected!”

Suddenly, they heard familiar voices coming from above them. Leaning at the edge of the ship looking down on the mountain are Yun Fan and the other young disciples.

Yun Fan shouted, “Guys! Look up! Look up, we are here!!! Hehehe~”f??e???????????????l. c????

“Stop! Don’t lean too much! You’re going to fall off!!” said Yun Anye.

“Ah!! It’s Yun Fan!”

“So enviable. I wanted to try riding a flying ship too!!”

“A’Fan!! Senior Brother Anye!! Everyone, Welcome Back!!!”

“Hey! Go report to the elders! Chun Hongyun-Jun and the rest had returned!”

Yun Xiajie told Zhi Yang which mountain to stop. They’ve decided to stop at his peak first and allow his beloved to properly rest.

Zhi Yang followed his order and went to the red cloud peak which is owned by Yun Xiajie. On this mountain, only a few disciples live. Among the young disciples who were on the ship with them, Yun Anjie and Yun Fan were disciples of this peak. The others were disciples of the other peak and went to night hunt with Yun Anjie as the mission requirements.

Zhi Yang conjured a cloud and helped the ones on the ship to get down. They couldn’t land the flying ship as there are no flat surfaces on the mountain. Once everyone had gotten off the ship, Zhi Yue minimized its size to a size he could hold in his hand and gave it to Lord Ye. This is a flying ship shared by the couple. It is natural to give it to Lord Ye for possession.

As soon as the clouds landed on the ground they disappeared in thin air. What welcomed them is a wooden courtyard made simple yet made up of the most expensive wood in the cultivation world even in the upper realm. This is because when Zhi Yang had descended he felt that the abode the Lord God lives in doesn’t match his standing and rebuilt everything from scratch. The materials were all taken from the system mall and made sure to incorporate the designs which would be liked by his master, Lord Hei.

He knows that as long as Lord Hei likes it there is no way the Lord God would decline anything he would make for the master. As expected after hearing that the renovation is in preparation for Lord Hei’s return, Chun Hongyun-Jun didn’t decline the plans Zhi Yang had made.

Yun Xiajie wasn’t surprised to see his father and uncle waiting in front of his courtyard. Their eyes didn’t linger on him longer than 3 seconds as they stared at the sleeping man in his arms.

It was the Old Sect Master, Yun Huajie, who was wearing a poker face. Yun Xiayu, the former Great Elder who is looking so strict as always but within those golden eyes were delight, guilt, and doting emotions and expressions mixed up as they stare at the sleeping Hei Anjing.

Poker-faced Old Sect Master Yun Huajie said, “He must be tired. Bring him to rest, Jieye.”

The young disciples greeted in unison. “Supreme Leader! Supreme Elder! Greetings.”

“Father. Uncle. Forgive my inability to currently pay respect,” said Yun Xiajie but he still bowed his head to show his manners.

Supreme Elder Yun Xiayu said, “We understand.” Looking worriedly at Hei Anjing in his nephew’s arms. “His soul hasn’t stabilized within his current body. Let him rest, Jieye. Stay with A’Wuan until he wakes up until then you are forbidden from doing any work in the Sect.”

“Yes, Uncle,” responded Yun Xiajie.

“Jieye. You made the promise. You can never break it yourself. Our family owes A’Wuan too much. This old man would never forgive you if you hurt, A’Wuan,” said Yun Huajie to his youngest child.

“He has always been my life. I will protect my life,” replied Yun Xiajie to his father who nodded in acceptance to his words before leaving the place with Yun Xiayu and the young disciples who returned with him.
