Chapter 105: Spying on the Maids!
He could do nothing but refine it manually.
He finished refining all the Primordial Yin Qi he had milked out of her by using eight hours.
However, it was not a waste.
He had reached the legendary level 14th of the first realm!
His elixir field didn't show any sign of shattering either.
Why?
The refined version of her Yin Qi reinforced the sturdiness of his elixir field four times before expanding it to its current size.
If it weren't for the fact her Yin Qi was pure and unique, and she was showering him with dozens of liters of it every day, he wouldn't have reached such a level so quickly.
Xie Yang was planning to create a heavenly core. And for that, he needed to reach at least level 15 and widen all his Meridian to the point where they could each contain 100 units of spiritual energy.
He was one level away from his goal, but it was the hardest to achieve!
Xie Yang looked out the window, saw it was dark and silent outside, and realized that daytime had long passed. Dual cultivating with his wife was so pleasurable that he had forgotten to think about anything else.
What was the best time for a thief to make his move?
It was deep at night!
Xie Yang stepped out of his room. His steps produced not a sound. He was in all-black wear, and one couldn't even see his face. Like a fish in the water, he sneaked towards his maids' resting place. He used his divine sense to sneak a peek at what they were doing. He was suspicious of them and wasn't sure whether they were the ones who poisoned him or doctor Zhang.
He was here to gather evidence on them. In his mind appeared a picture of them sleeping soundly on the bed.
He took advantage of the situation, sneaked into their room, sprinkled deep sleep powder on them to make it impossible for them to wake within an hour and inspected them in and out.
He had only seen the two twins dressed in maid clothing, which hid all their skin and hair. This was Xie Yang's first time seeing them in nighties, and he was shocked. Their white and black hair carried a sensual glow to it, one that couldn't belong to human hair. Their loose hair highlighted the fact that their facial features were different than the empire's people.
They looked beautiful, of course, more so than the top beauties of the empire, and their skin lacked calluses and was smother than jade. Any man would desire them, and any gentleman would raise his cup of wine and sing a poem in admiration of their beauty. Xie Yang wasn't just any man, and they were not just beauties. His expression turned grave.
How could mere maids who had to work every day have such delicate skin? Their beauty was not worse than the top beauties of the kingdom but also told Xie Yang that they carried genes foreign to the empire!
He grabbed their wrist and sent his spiritual energy into them to probe their cultivation level.
He found out they lacked spiritual power and essential requirements to become spiritual cultivators, but their bones gave off suspicious radiations.
'It closely resembles the aura of an evil spirit. Is one such creature haunting them, or do they have something to do with it?'
Xie Yang wanted to trace it back to its source, but to his shock, although only ten minutes had passed, they showed signs of waking up.
As if he was a thief too afraid to be caught by his unsuspecting victims, he jumped out the window and ran to the rooftop.
He was about to return to his courtyard when he saw them stepping out of their room.
He decided to stay and spy on them with his divine sense.
The two twin sisters, whose real name was Feng Shu and Feng Wei, started cleaning the courtyard of their master before the sun started rising from the west. They were none other than Xie Yang's maids, but he and the others only knew them by their courtesy name, which was given to them by their father.
Even the city lord didn't know whose child they were, but he let them remain by his son's side and serve him as his only maids because that was the wish of his long-dead wife.
While it was dark and silent in the courtyard, the lamps that the two sisters held in one hand each provided them with enough light to see their surroundings pretty clearly.
"Feng Wei, have you finally gone senile?"
While saying this, the white-haired maid, Feng Shu, gave a look of disapproval to her little sister.
Although her elder sister's stern stare was on her, the black-haired maid, Feng Wei, didn't stop cleaning the courtyard using her superpower
Feng Wei didn't feel offended by her sister's taunt and kept a calm exterior as she cutely said, "Elder Sister Shu, don't give me the stink eye. I don't like it when you look at me like that."
Feng Shu tapped the back of her head with the broom as she said, "Stop selling meng to me and stop using your powers just to clean this place. Do it like how a mortal would do. We can't risk having our identities exposed."
Well, they have already exposed their identities to Xie Yang!
Xie Yang didn't step out to confront them and kept quiet.
From what Xie Yang had seen and heard, the actual name of his maids was Shu and Wei, and their surname was Feng, and Feng Shu's mystic power allows her control over the wind, but she also taints them, meaning her father or mother is a fallen or evil wind spirit.
The Empire burns crossbreeds in public if they are born to an evil spirit and are evil themselves.
But even if they are reasonable and good, the citizens can't tolerate their existence.
The mortals feared evil spirits and everything related to them, and they revered whoever could deal with evil spirits.
Their fear wasn't something a monk or a saint could change with fear words.
And since they feared evil spirits, they were bound to fear their offspring and do everything in their power to get rid of them.
When news about the offspring of evil spirits spread in the empire, the department of justice typically dispatches its officials to capture them to put them in jail, kill them, or throw them into the flip side of the spirit realm.
If anyone found out that they were offsprings to an evil spirit, they would have no choice but to live the rest of their lives in hiding.
Xie Yang knew that because he had read the kingdom's rule.
So, he understood why Feng Shu turned pale after seeing Feng Wei using her evil spirit powers!
"No way."
Feng Wei shook her head, expressing she was in disapproval of her demand and was going to have her way until the end.
"Why?" Feng Shu questioned.
Feng Wei answered, "It's easier this way."
It was really tiring for her to keep acting like a mere mortal when she was more than just that, and she always felt annoyed having to waste a few hours to clean the courtyard when she could do it in mere minutes using her powers.
Today happened to be the day of her period, and she was feeling moody and low on energy.
Also, she was intent on doing what she liked.
"You're being too willful." Feng Shu's expression crumpled.
Feng Shu was not only afraid that others would chance upon this scene of her sister using strange powers, find out that they are in possession of mystical strength foreign to spiritual cultivators, and chastise them out of the mortal realm and away from their lord but also angry at her irresponsible and nonchalant sister.
"Are you acting dumb, or do you really not know what will happen if someone finds out? Or is it that you have forgotten the promise we made to her, forgotten the love she showed us, and want to go back on your words and run to the Hellish Night Realm?" Feng Shu questioned her.
The Hellish Night Realm was the flip side of the spirit realm.
Xie Yang better knew it as the breeding ground of evil spirit or the kingdom that the Undead Immortal Queen used to rule ten thousand years ago.
Her name didn't only sound impressive, but she lived up to it.
The Undead Immortal Queen had once tried to unite all the realms and become the absolute ruler!
However, Xie Yang was on her way to supremacy.
The two fought, and of course, Xie Yang won.
But it didn't mean a thing!
He couldn't kill her and could only watch her run away.
They fought hundreds of times after that, and both became stronger with each fight.
Eventually, Xie Yang found a way to deal with the Undead Immortal Queen for good!
He sealed her in an array bound to her life.
It was honestly a pathetic array. Heavenly Dragon Fire array could destroy an army of a thousand soldiers by creating a sea of fire. Heavenly Water & Earth Control Array Overturn the land, conquering an entire continent. But the array he used to defeat her for eternity couldn't do any of that and only had one property.
It bounded itself to a person's life and kept them locked to a place until they breathed their last.
It was a single target array!
And it was the worst nemesis of the Undead Immortal Queen!
After all, as long as she was alive, it would keep her sealed inside the Night Palace, a place he gifted to her.
Feng Wei replied, "Look around you. There is no one here except you and me. So it's safe to use our power. If someone comes, the dark gales of wind will tell me, and I will stop. You should also use it. It will make our daily tasks easier."
