Chapter 297: The Mystery Revolving Around The Primal Beast
Half of the entire mountain became covered in dragon meat!
"Mhmu! Mhmu!"
Emu's eyes sparkled like the most expensive of gold stars before it jumped straight into the meat pile and started chomping away!
Azmond looked at the sight of Emu devouring millions of pounds of meat like it was nothing as an understanding look emerged on his face.
"Emu is, after all, still growing, so it makes sense that it needs to consume so much."
He nodded his head a few times, as he was sure that Emu would eventually grow out of such a 'voracious phase'!

In a large castle, adorned with colorful blue tassels and seashells lining up every wall, a woman of untold 'proportions' sat atop an opulent throne.
"..."
Marina's gaze traveled down to a woman with a dark cloak on, clearly expecting good news after nearly four months of waiting.
"So? Have Azure and Sapphire taken care of that man yet?" She asked.
The cloaked woman below didn't know how she should tell her Queen of the situation.
But she knew that she couldn't leave her waiting, so she said with a nervous tone, "My Queen, I regret to inform you that Azure and Sapphire have not yet made it to the target."
RUMBLE!
The massive castle started to violently shake before a cold voice entered the ears of the cloaked woman.
"And why is that?"
Marina's face had darkened by a few shades as her fingers began to tap the armrests of her throne.
"W-Well, My Queen, the target has entered the Luminous Grounds of the Nightmare Council"
The aura and tapping abruptly stopped as the Queen looked down at her informant.
'The Luminous Grounds, huh? That's quite the dangerous place for one of the human race to be. Why would he go into that wretched place? And more importantly, how is he still alive??
Those old farts would've definitely noticed his presence as soon as he entered'
With a stern expression, she pondered the peculiar actions of the man her daughter called 'My Husband'.
But it didn't take long for her to snap out of her reverie before looking toward the kneeling informant.
"It matters not." She began with an apathetic tone.
"Those old foggy's are in the middle of an internal dispute, so tell Azure and Sapphire to do as they will," she ended with a hand gesture.
The informant looked up at her Queen before she made a salute and walked out the massive throne room doors.
However, before she made it all the way out, Marina's emotionless voice echoed out once more:
"Oh, and make sure to tell them not to go past the Seventeenth Step, for there are Half-Step Tribulation Transcendence Realm monsters littered all over the place on the Eighteenth through Twentieth Steps," she added with a brief explanation.
The cloaked female informant turned toward her Queen for a split second before nodding her head and vanishing from sight.
The hours turned into days the days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months.
Azmond, Boundless, Emu, and Calista had been climbing up the steps of the Luminous Grounds in the Nightmare Council, attempting to make their way to the very top.
And the day eventually came when Azmond and the gang stepped foot on the Fifteenth Floor!
...
"Azmond?"
The soft voice of Calista echoed out as her big, round, misty gray eyes stared up at the face of a silver foxkin.
"Hmm?"
Azmond looked toward the short catkin girl with a curious expression.
Out of all the things he expected her to say, what actually ended up coming out of her mouth was not one of them.
"Scared of heights"
Her beautiful eyes started to tear up as she turned her gaze out of a large glass window and saw the clouds stretch on for an uncountable number of miles.
"Oh" Azmond muttered with an understanding look.
"You want up?"
He gestured toward her with his hands stretched out.
"Mhmm," she responding while nodding her head.
*Pat*
Azmond took the initiative to pick her up before coddling her in his embrace.
|You really pamper her too much, Azmond!| Boundless exclaimed.
Even though she said such a thing in a scolding tone, the light pout on her face indicated that she was just envious of Calista.
|You know she's almost fourteen years old, don't you? She will eventually need to learn how to function by herself!| She added with a 'compassionate' voice.
""
Bafflement filled Azmond's heart as he couldn't believe the shamelessness of Boundless.
Even a blind person could see that she was clearly just wanting the same treatment.
"Come here," Azmond muttered.
His free hand was stretched out in her direction, and it was clear what he was indicating.
|I-I mean, if you insist, then I guess I have no other choice!|
She immediately gave up her little 'act' and leaped into his arms before snuggling up in his scent.
Emu wiggled a little in katana form as it wanted to join in on the fun as well, and this time, Azmond let Emu do as it wanted.
Emu squeaked as it morphed into slime form before jumping into his long bed of raven black hair.
Azmond, Boundless, Emu, and Calista had taken yet another ship to get to the fourteenth floor a few days agoa ship owned by the 'Swanson Transportation Company'and go figure, the 'Primal Beast' was waiting for them at the docking station.
After 13 times of it happening, everyone was more than a little suspicious over the 'coincidences'.
While on the Eleventh Floora floor that was populated by colossal ten-thousand-meter-wide treesAzmond had even brought the topic up with the 'Primal Beast' himself, but all he got from the Primal Beast was 'Probably just a coincidence'.
He proceeded to ask him on the twelfth through fourteenth floors in the same way; however, every time, all he ever received as a response was 'Coincidence'.
Furthermore, he had used his 'mind-control' ability that came along with his cultivation realm to 'figure out the truth'; however, once again, all he got from the Primal Beast was 'Just a Coincidence, Sir!'.
The unusual 'oddities' revolving around the 'Primal Beast' eluded him even to the present day...
