Chapter 162: Decisive battle!
Controlling the flames cost mana, but not too much, since he had already conjured all of the flames after all.
Since they had seen Ark taking care of these black goblins so easily, they had assumed that it was an easy task. In reality, the goblins\' strength were quite extraordinary, and a lot of the adventurers got themselves injured due to carelessness and underestimating their enemy.
Because of this, they all got a new sense of respect for Ark, as they had no idea that these monsters that couldn\'t even approach him were actually this strong.
The wails of monsters being slaughtered as well as intense fights echoed throughout the cave. Considering the strength of these goblins, their evolved counterparts would surely be powerful. Surely enough, the battle cries of three large monsters soon shook the entire cave. Ephine and Thufrat took this as their cue to finally enter the fray of battle, as they finally had worthy opponents.
The three monsters were three large black ogres. Unlike the goblins, these ogres all had shining red tattoos all over their large bulking bodies. The tattoos shone eerily in the darkness, and anyone who witnessed them would surely shiver. The immense strength contained inside of the tattoos was clear for all to see, and any adventurer that was close to them instantly retreated back to safety.
Naturally, not everyone could escape their fate, and 4 adventurers were all slaughtered before they could even react by the ogres. Though they were large and a little dim-witted, they were excellent in battle, and they were far from slow. After using his inspect, Ark was able to see their levels, and not a single one of them was lower than level 100.
Even he himself would have to go all-out to kill these ogres, much less these random adventurers.
Naturally, most adventurers backed off, as they were not strong enough to contend with these monsters, but 10 people remained, and stood in front of the ogres. In front of the left ogre stood three people, namely the young lady and her twin guards.
In front of the middle ogre stood four other adventurers, who all exuded an aura that was above the rest, these four were obviously quite strong from the looks of things.
In front of the right ogre stood three other people, namely Atar, Ephine and Thufrat. Thufrat stood in the middle, and he quickly told them that they were just going to support him, since he didn\'t want them to get hurt, Ark treasured them after all.
Ephine knew that they would only get in the way if they tried to fight the ogre head-on, and she quickly agreed, she didn\'t want Atar to be in too much danger either way.
Ark was a little worried, but he had faith in Thufrat, and he believed that they wouldn\'t get hurt. Even though that was the case, he would immediately interfere if things started going south. The three ogres were all brothers, and upon seeing these puny humans challenging them to a fight, they all sneered with disdain. The fights quickly started, as the ogres were impatient to kill their opponents.
The battles became intense right from the get-go, as these were fights to the death between exceptionally powerful people. Thufrat didn\'t idle around and immediately unleashed his bloodline, and used one of his skills. The mighty roar of a dragon seemed to be coming from the depths of his body, and he was instantly covered in a shiny set of brown armour.
This armour looked like the scales of a dragon, and it covered him from head to toe, the only visible part of his body was his face, and even that couldn\'t be fully seen.
The armour contained an immense amount of earth mana, as it was actually just condensed mana that had taken the shape of armour, but even so, it was not something anyone could do. He had gotten this skill by awakening his ancient bloodline after all. After he had covered himself with armour, Thufrat just went all-out and fought the ogre with his fists.
Though the ogre was more than double his size, Thufrat wasn\'t disheartened at all, and he met all of his opponents punched with his own, creating a stalemate.
But Thufrat wasn\'t alone, an arrow condensed out of water magic was rapidly approaching the ogre\'s right eye, which prompted the ogre to quickly close it. Though the eye was essentially a weak point, when it closed its eye, it was protected by its eyelid. Even though it was stupid, the ogre could also use mana to protect itself, which it did.
The aim of Ephine\'s attack wasn\'t to injure the ogre though, which it soon had to find out the hard way.
Since it had closed its right eye, Thufrat quickly threw a right hook at its face, which it wasn\'t able to see in time due to its closed eye. The ogre was quickly lifted off its feet and sent flying backwards, roaring in anger since it had been tricked like this. The attack wasn\'t over yet though, and as the ogre was still in the air, it could feel a presence behind itself.
The presence was small, yet it contained an immense amount of power, it was Atar!
When the ogre had been shot in the eye, it had created numerous blind spots, and Atar had taken the chance to run forward and past the ogre. After it had been sent flying, he was now standing right behind it. With a shout, he punched with all the power he could muster, squarely on the ogres back. The ogre could feel its spine crack a little, and it roared in pain and anger.
As a result from all the power behind Atar\'s punch, the ogre was sent flying back to Thufrat again. With a smirk, Thufrat quickly retrieved his warhammer from his spatial bag, and mustered up all the mana he could whilst the ogre was flying towards him. When it was close enough, he swung the warhammer, which landed right on the ogre\'s chest.
The force behind the blow was enormous, and with the help of the speed the ogre already had, its chest was caved in as a result, which ultimately ended with the ogre\'s untimely death. The facial expression of the ogre was quite ferocious, but as it was already dead, it didn\'t really matter. Ark felt a little weird when he saw their battle.
It reminded him of tennis, a sport that was quite prevalent in his previous world.
