Chapter 483: My Husband is Yun Xiao

Chapter 483: My Husband is Yun Xiao

"No, you called me princess!" the War Princess insisted.

"Does it matter?" Yun Xiao asked.

"Of course, it matters!" Her lips pursed in a mock pout, she gazed at him with a haunting melancholy.

"Alright then." Yun Xiao allowed a slight smile, "Seeing as you\'ve been quite the hero lately, and well-behaved at that, I suppose I should indulge you more often."

"Really?" Her eyes lit up.

"Truly." Yun Xiao nodded.

The War Princess stared deep into his eyes, suddenly biting her lip before asking, "Can I have a hug?"

"Oh? Have I won your heart? Then you\'re too easy," Yun Xiao remarked.

"Ha! As if a dog could ever spit ivory. Forget the hug!" The War Princess snorted.

As her words fell, Yun Xiao reached out and pulled her into his embrace, enveloping her completely.

The War Princess trembled, her skin flushing a deep red. She turned her head aside and asked softly, "How does it feel?"

Yun Xiao, slightly out of breath, looked into the dazzling white light before him and said, "Actually, the height is just right..."

"Hmph." The War Princess pulled away from his grasp, turning and sashaying away.

"Where are you going? I need you at all times," Yun Xiao called after her.

"I rarely come back. I should at least see my father and uncles!" she called back over her shoulder.

"Alright, go then," Yun Xiao nodded.

The War Princess said, "Don\'t worry, I can never escape the palm of your hand, can I?"

"Is that so bad?" Yun Xiao asked.

"Who knows, I only know one thing," she pouted.

"What\'s that?"

She glanced at the crystal coffin and spoke with a dim look, "Lying in that coffin feels awful, like passing in and out of the gates of death."

"Oh…" Yun Xiao nodded.

"But there\'s one good thing," she looked up earnestly.

"What\'s that?"

"You\'re not as heartless as I imagined."

Within a secluded courtyard in a city in the Nine Hells, a delicate girl with skin fairer than snow sat on a rooftop, her gaze laden with worry as she looked towards the Immortal Asylum. She cradled a small white tiger in her arms, which was grumbling incessantly, though she paid it no mind.

Suddenly, a noise stirred from below. The white tiger\'s fur bristled, alert as it spoke, "That sound came from the Arbiter Immortal."

"I\'ll check it out." Lian Xi leapt gracefully from the roof and gently pushed open the door below. Inside, on a wooden bed, lay a man clad in platinum armor, the dark mists around him now dissipating.

He still lay there but had opened his eyes, looking bewildered at his surroundings.

"Have you awakened, sir?" Lian Xi stood by, not daring to come too close. She glanced briefly, noting his frail condition.

The man struggled to turn his neck, his eyes trembling as he saw Lian Xi. He asked in a quivering voice, "Where am I?"

"The Nine Hells," Lian Xi nodded.

"The Nine Hells?" The confusion in his eyes deepened, and his face soured, "Is it the mortal realm? Surrounded by myriad worlds, governed by a divine ark endowed with a Celestial Sourcecore."

"Yes," Lian Xi said, observing him closely.

Hearing this, the man shuddered, his eyes dimming as he bitterly smiled, "I am doomed, utterly doomed. To have mistakenly entered the Blue Star Mortal Realm..."

"Sir, you\'re already almost recovered; you\'re not doomed," Lian Xi reassured him.

"Even if I\'m fully healed, it is of no use," he replied, his eyes filled with sorrow.

"Why?" Lian Xi probed.

With a sigh of despair, he explained, "The heavenly laws of the Great Dao Celestial Realm decree that an Immortal entering the mortal realm uninvited is a capital offense, punishable by beheading."

"So severe?" Lian Xi\'s brows furrowed. And what then of the Three Immortals?

She said, "Surely, if your entry was accidental, you must be exempt from punishment?"

"There is no such thing as an accidental entry. By coming here, I have already tainted my Immortal armor with the spiritual energy of the mortal realm. There is no hope left."

As he murmured to himself, the Arbiter Immortal lay back and, against his stoic nature, tears began to fall. Clearly, he harbored deep attachments.

"But what if one were to atone by rendering a great service?" Lian Xi suddenly suggested.

"Atone by service?" the Arbiter Immortal paused, surprised.

"In this mortal realm you find yourself, the human race is suffering a great calamity. There are three beings who claim to be True Immortals wreaking havoc using Gu."

Lian Xi was unsure of the situation in the Immortal Asylum, so she had to probe the Arbiter Immortal herself.

"A calamity? Elaborate," he furrowed his brow.

She explained the matter of the Three Immortals as best she could, choosing her words carefully.

"If you, sir, were to cleanse this realm of these malevolent beings, might the Celestial Court show leniency?" Lian Xi asked softly.

"This is a calamity of the highest order! Investigating such disasters is indeed our duty!" The Arbiter Immortal’s face lit up with excitement, and he even tried to sit up, "If I could resolve this and report it to the Celestial Court, I might indeed be granted clemency!"

Hearing this, Lian Xi breathed a sigh of relief.

At least it suggested that this Arbiter Immortal was likely on their side.

"Young lady." His gaze grew fervent with newfound hope, and he looked at Lian Xi and asked, "What is your name?"

"Lian Xi."

"Ah. I am Lu, Lu An," the Arbiter Immortal said.

"I see, I\'ll call you Arbiter Lu." Lian Xi nodded.

Arbiter Lu surveyed her, a puzzled look crossing his face. "Your demeanor rivals many Immortal maidens of the Great Dao Celestial Realm, yet why do I feel I\'ve seen you before?"

"Familiar?" Lian Xi shook her head, "You\'re joking, sir. I have never been to the Great Dao Celestial Realm."

"You\'ve certainly never been. With the celestial barrier, only through breaking it can mortals ascend to the realm of the Immortals," Arbiter Lu chuckled.

Recalling past events, he then continued, "Was it you who saved me?"

"Not me. It was my husband, Yun Xiao," Lian Xi earnestly replied.

"Your husband?" Arbiter Lu paused, surprised. "At your age, merely 14 or 15, to already have a Dao Partner?"

"People marry young in the mortal world," Lian Xi explained.

"I suppose…" Arbiter Lu didn\'t dwell on it further but asked, "Is your husband here? I wish to know if my Skyruler Sword Vessel is still intact."

"My husband is out but should return shortly," Lian Xi paused, "As for the Skyruler Sword Vessel, it exploded when he rescued you."

"Exploded?" Arbiter Lu sighed deeply, then asked, "You mean your husband broke open the Skyruler Sword Vessel to rescue me?"

"Yes. And it was him who drove out the Gu from your body," Lian Xi said.

"Your husband must be quite formidable, likely one of the top Yang Immortals of this mortal realm. He must be much older than you," Lu remarked with admiration.

"He\'s 16," Lian Xi stated.

Arbiter Lu was taken aback.

Just then, voices from outside reached them, sounding quite joyful.

"They must be back," Lian Xi looked outside anxiously.

She was still uncertain of their safety.

Arbiter Lu also looked out, nodding. "Well then, let’s go meet this 16-year-old prodigy of a husband of yours."
