Chapter 1481 - Settling The Matter With Money
Chapter 1481: Settling The Matter With Money
“Is that so?”
When Sanguine Warflag heard Sanguine Stormbringer’s words, he couldn’t help but freeze.
In the past, Sanguine Stormbringer was just a regular core player in the Sanguine Alliance. He didn’t have much say within the guild.
However, he was extremely intelligent. Sanguine Stormbringer predicted the outcome of every battle Sanguine Alliance entered. Now, he easily turned into Sanguine Alliance’s top battle-strategist.
Even the tyrannical Sanguine Warflag had to seek his opinion before he could make a move.
Now that Sanguine Stormbringer suggested otherwise, Sanguine Warflag couldn’t ignore him like before.
“I hope you can reconsider, boss,” Sanguine Stormbringer responded sagely.
“Alright! I’ll think about this a little more!”
Sanguine Warflag rubbed his chin as he began considering if he should listen to Sanguine Stormbringer’s advice.
The Sanguine Alliance didn’t have as many members as Void Blade. Now that Void Blade sought external help, if he didn’t look for smaller guilds for help, he would be overwhelmed by his enemies.
As for asking Quan Zhen Sect for help, Sanguine Warflag hadn’t thought about it yet.
Not to mention how many favours Sanguine Alliance owed to Quan Zhen Sect, Sanguine Warflag didn’t have the gall to look for Quan Zhen Sect for help again. Since this was Wang Yu’s first time asking Sanguine Warflag for help, and the rewards were sizable, it wouldn’t look good if they asked Quan Zhen Sect to clean up after them. That would make them look far too unreliable. No matter how thick-skinned Sanguine Warflag was, he couldn’t do it.
Furthermore, would Quan Zhen Sect help them for free? With Fearless’ words, they’d be handing half of their west region away by the end of the discussion.
However, Sanguine Stormbringer was right. They were in the same field, and thus were enemies. That was especially the case in a competitive environment like theirs.
In the past, Sanguine Alliance didn’t work well with these small guilds. While the Sanguine Alliance were having meat, these small guilds couldn’t even afford soup. Now that they were in trouble, looking for them wouldn’t be a reliable solution.
All of a sudden, Sanguine Warflag was thoroughly perplexed.
Just as he was deep in thought, Void Blade’s external help launched their attack under Big Bear Deng Deng An’s orders.
Void Blade had hired over 1,000 people to help. Compared to 10,000 guild members, it wasn’t a lot. However, in a battle like this, it was a rather heavy number.
Furthermore, Void Blade had hired the top experts in each class. The quality of their help wasn’t any weaker than Sanguine Alliance’s elite players.
Within a short amount of time, Sanguine Alliance lost their initial advantage and turned passive. The chaotic situation cleared up gradually.
...
In a situation like this, who was the most anxious? Clearly, it wasn’t the Sanguine Alliance!
That was because they had hidden cards. Even if they lost their advantage, they could gather their brothers for a fight to the death with Void Blade.
That was why the ones who were most anxious were the Twilight City players who were trying to benefit from the situation.
The goal of the 1,000 people was to capture the central and western district. That was pretty obvious. Soon, the other sects from Twilight City discovered the external help. Twilight City’s players began stirring at once.
D*mn, we were having a great time here, but these outsiders came out of nowhere. Do they really treat us locals like we’re invisible?
False Symphony’s 2012 had held heavy grudges against Sanguine Alliance and Void Blade for a long time. Now that they were battling harshly, 2012 was having the time of his life.
Together with his subordinates, he led them through the streets, killing everyone in their path. They looted quite a large number of equipment from these players. Now that these outsiders entered the battlefield, they destroyed the situation they were taking advantage of. 2012 was absolutely enraged.
Twilight City’s waters weren’t as murky as before. Players who were taking advantage of the situation stopped at once.
All of a sudden, 2012’s subordinates suggested, “Boss, let’s leave.”
“Leave?” 2012 frowned, “Why should we leave? We should coordinate our efforts to attack Void Blade now!”
“Boss, you must be kidding...” his subordinate responded furtively, “Sanguine Alliance’s life-and-death has nothing to do with us. We should escape after looting what we can. It isn’t your style to attack Void Blade like this.”
It was possible that the balance of the battle in the City could change because of one person.
Ever since Wang Yu became Twilight City’s City Lord, Twilight City’s players began taking on Quan Zhen Sect’s mentality, wreaking havoc wherever they went.
When they ran into benefits, they reaped it. If there was something they could take advantage of, they seized it. Reputation couldn’t bring them anything practical. Autonomy had become Twilight City players’ trademark. False Symphony learnt their ways well.
“What do you know?!” 2012 mocked, “Can’t you tell? Void Blade has set their minds to fight to the death with Sanguine Alliance. If we help Sanguine Alliance, Void Blade will panic. What do you think they’ll do once that happens?”
“They’ll destroy us?” His subordinate was clueless.
“Would he dare?!” 2012 responded. “They can’t even handle the Sanguine Alliance, but they want to make a public enemy out of an entire city?”
“Are you saying they still have the means to hire more people?” his subordinate asked in confusion.
“That’s right!” 2012 smirked, “It doesn’t matter if Sanguine Alliance or Void Blade falls. As long as we benefit from it, that’s all that matters. Even if you slap him in the face, he’ll have to pay you for that. Who wouldn’t slap them then?”
“I’ll do it! I definitely have to! Boss, you’re amazing!” After listening to 2012’s explanation, his subordinates showed their thumbs up.
“That’s right!” 2012 felt great from the compliments.
There was a saying that outsiders could see the situation most clearly. Both parties were heavily involved in this battle. Their hearts were fixated on killing one another, so neither considered this factor.
On the other hand, even 2012 could see this opening to exploit. Clearly, other players weren’t dumb either. They knew what to do to benefit. Furthermore, uniting to fight against outsiders was in line with the players’ habits and morals.
As such, without notifying Sanguine Alliance, all of the guilds began launching their attacks toward Void Blade.
As this scene unfolded, the perplexed Sanguine Warflag let out a long sigh as he said to Sanguine Stormbringer, “See that? That’s the will of the people. There’s nothing I can do about that.”
“Hmm...” Sanguine Stormbringer was speechless.
“Boss, this is bad!”
At the same time, Captain Don’t Open Fire received news from Big Bear Deng Deng An from Void Blade’s office. “The small guilds in Twilight City are attacking our external help!”
Captain Don’t Open Fire raged when he saw this, “D*mn it! I knew these b*st*rds would do this! This doesn’t even concern them!”
“What do we do now?” Big Bear Deng Deng An asked.
“F*ck!” Captain Don’t Open Fire waved his hands, “Pay them to settle the matter!”
They had no other choice. Money made the world go round! Captain Don’t Open Fire had many shortcomings, but he was never short of money.
