“Oh?” Wang Yu heard him and turned around, and said, “Why? Do you still want revenge? Do you believe that I will throw the few of you down too?”
Wang Yu did not leave his name not because he was afraid of their revenge. He was afraid of the trouble it would bring as he was here on a quest. It would be troublesome to have a bunch of people chasing behind him.
“...”
After hearing what Wang Yu said, that few of them retreated a few steps. Their abilities were not even on par with the Warrior who was thrown down so if Wang Yu could throw him down, he could act on what he said.
Seeing how the four of them had nothing left to say, Wang Yu minded his own business and went down the hill. Just then, the Pugilist caught up with him.
“You, you, luckily you did not leave your name, or else, you would be dead,” the Pugilist said with relief.
“Oh? Is their guild that impressive?” Wang Yu asked casually.
“Of course!” Pugilist said, “Have you heard of Peerless Heaven?”
Wang Yu heard him and was stunned. This was obvious. Peerless Heaven was Evil Rampage’s guild. Could this Mad Wolf Guild be one of Peerless Heaven’s guilds?
Initially, Wang Yu did not think of that but upon thinking what happened, Mad Wolf Guild’s style was indeed pretty similar to Peerless Heaven’s... Back then, when Peerless Heaven occupied mines to extort people of others’ money, they did it similar to how these guys were doing it in tourist spots.
If this was so, then it was bad.
“How is this Mad Wolf Guild related to Peerless Heaven?” Wang Yu frowned and tried to ask.
The Pugilist sighed and said, “You might not know as a foreigner but Mad Wolf Guild is one of the guilds in Peerless Heaven’s merchant guild.”
“So what!”
Wang Yu frowned and felt slightly upset. Although Peerless Heaven was not his guild, Evil Rampage was his own brother. With one of his branch guilds acting so arrogantly, it did not reflect well on him as a boss.
Wang Yu’s annoyed tone shocked the Pugilist and enraged him, “So what? Brother, your skills are pretty good but haven’t you heard of Peerless Heaven? That is the top guild with people in all three hundred main cities. If you anger Peerless Heaven, no matter how good you are, don’t even think of living for long.”
The Pugilist was not wrong. If he offended other guilds, he could just go to another main city as, after all, a guild’s sphere of influence was at most a main city.
However, Peerless Heaven was different. They had merchant guilds in all three hundred main cities. If he offended them, it was as good as giving up on the game.
“Alright!” Wang Yu did not think that Evil Rampage had gone so overboard so he helplessly said, “I’ll speak to their boss some other day and remind him to manage his subordinates.”
“What, are you kidding me?” Hearing what Wang Yu said, the Pugilist spat out in laughter.
“You? Can speak to Peerless Heaven’s boss?” The Pugilist looked at Wang Yu as though he was a lunatic.
Evil Rampage was Peerless Heaven’s leader so his status was extraordinary. Wang Yu said it so casually as though he was someone on the streets. It was like saying he would discuss weapons with Trump someday so it was questionable if he was telling the truth and hence, that Pugilist’s reaction was normal.
“Ah? Why not?” Wang Yu was puzzled by the Pugilist’s questioning. Telling Evil Rampage what to do was Wang Yu’s childhood entertainment.
The Pugilist mocked, “Do you know how impressive their leader, Evil Rampage, is? I heard that even the leaders of the top ten guilds of Huaxia have to be polite to him, and you want to tell him what to do?”
“Is this lad so impressive now?” Wang Yu rubbed his nose as he was secretly surprised.
That Pugilist saw how Wang Yu reacted and thought Wang Yu was afraid so he quickly changed the topic and said, “Alright, seeing how you stood up for me, I have said what I could. If you insist on overestimating yourself, go ahead. As a foreigner, it is better that you do not cause any trouble. If you need anything, look for me. I am called Little Bookworm. How about you?”
“Ironbull!” Wang Yu casually replied.
Little Bookworm scratched his head and said, “This name sounds familiar... Come, add me as a friend... Wait, you don’t allow others to add you. You really think you are an expert?”
“It’s a habit.” Wang Yu smiled then added Little Bookworm as a friend.
“You are also a Pugilist?” After Little Bookworm added Wang Yu, he was curious about Wang Yu’s job symbol. He had never seen a Yinyang Fish as a job symbol but Wang Yu’s attire showed that he was a Pugilist.
“Yup! Pugilist, counted as a hidden job.” Wang Yu nodded.
Little Bookworm was surprised, “Oh, a hidden job. I am a Nomad so I’m not very familiar with the game’s jobs... However, there is nothing I do not know about the City of Hope.
“So you are a Nomad.”
Wang Yu knew about Nomads as there were many of them in the game. They had different hobbies. Some enjoyed conquering the world (Sanguine Alliance), some enjoyed fighting (most players), some enjoyed using their secondary job to run a business (Evil Rampage) and some, enjoyed having fun and experiencing the culture of the game then used the game’s background to rewrite the game’s background story. Such people were known as Nomads.
These guys were mostly Thieves, Archers and Pugilists as they did not have to be strong. They only had to be great at escaping.
Although most Nomads’ skills were rubbish, they could not be belittled as every game’s background story was in pieces so with these imaginative Nomads’ rewriting, all the background stories were linked up to form a legendary story.
After these stories were rewritten, they would be published on the forum and when the game designers refreshed the game, it was likely that they would include some details from the story. Hence, to a certain extent, Nomads were the builders of the game.
Of course, to be able to be noticed by the game designers, it was one in a million. However, one key point was that to write a good story, they had to have a deep understanding of every background story of the game.
Hence, understanding the culture of the main city was every Nomad’s important lesson so Little Bookworm was not bragging when he said that he understood everything about the main city.
“Oh, are you here for a quest?” Little Bookworm asked.
“Yup, I am looking for the lost Soul of the Gods. Do you know where I can look for clues in the City of Hope?” Wang Yu shared his quest details.
“Soul of the Gods?” Little Bookworm looked at Wang Yu’s quest and said, “I have no idea where this might be.”
“Oh? What a pity. I will have to look for it on my own then.” Wang Yu sounded disappointed.
“But...”
Little Bookworm gave some thought and said, “Since the Soul of the Gods can improve realms, I have heard of such a thing in the City of Hope.”
