Chapter 4
Unless…
Bai Ye was a zombie! An abomination!
The sudden movement took Qing Xuantian by surprise but he managed to summon his Mystic Energy and dodged the attack.
Before he could catch his breath, Bai Ye changed course midway and came at him from another direction. There was no way he could escape the attack.
In the next moment…
Pain erupted from his neck. Something warm dripped down his shirt collar. He touched his hand to his neck and it came away red.
After the attack, fatigue crept up on Bai Ye and she fell to her knees. There were clumps of skin and muscle underneath her fingernails.
She cursed herself for not delivering a killing blow. She wanted nothing more than to rid the world of this scum.
“Little Ye…” Qing Xuantian turned to face the scrawny girl. A twinkle of surprise and excitement danced in his eyes.
At this point, Qing Xuantian was sure the Bai family blood in his fiancée had awoken. Otherwise, she would not be able to hurt a Mystic Warrior such as himself.
He recalled how Liu Mingyan had thoroughly disabled Bai Ye’s limbs—the girl should not be able to move this freely. He noticed not only did she heal, she also became stronger.
“Amazing!” Qing Xuantian struggled to keep his excitement at bay.
“Little Ye, you’ve finally awoken your family blood. Please don’t hold the past against me. From what I know, the Scripture of Bai is passed down through the bloodline and requires an oppressive environment to awaken it. I was just trying to help,” Qing Xuantian explained sincerely.
In Qing Xuantian’s eyes, Bai Ye was a naive and ignorant girl who was in love with him. Therefore, he truly believed his coaxing and explanation would bring this simpleton back to him regardless of what had happened in the past.
Of course…
He was delusional.
“F*ck off!” Bai Ye muttered ominously. Her newfound strength gave her the ability to injure Qing Xuantian but not kill him.
Qing Xuantian was not the only person there. When Bai Ye delivered her strike, she sensed the blood lust coming from the men who were surrounding her house. These were soldiers who had wartime experience.
Bai Ye knew they were Qing Xuantian’s private army.
The man was the eldest son of the Governor of Qingyun and heir to the Qingyun estate. No matter where he went, the household security followed.
“Little Ye—”
“I said, f*ck off!” If killing him was not an option, Bai Ye wanted him out of her sight. She could not believe the scum of a man wanted to persuade her to leave with him. Did she appear to be brain dead to him?
“You scum—”
“Bai Ye, enough! Was Brother Tian not clear? He wants to bring you home. You should be grateful instead of kicking up a fuss?” Liu Mingyan spoke up after she got over the initial shock of seeing Bai Ye alive and well.
Liu Mingyan knew the reason behind Qing Xuantian’s change in demeanor—he was after the Scripture of Bai. Having judged the situation, she deduced that Bai Ye unlocked her potential. Jealousy pricked at her heart.
The words drew Bai Ye’s attention.
After realizing Bai Ye was not a man-eating zombie, Liu Mingyan let her mouth run. “What are you looking at? I’m telling it as it is.”
A grin formed on Bai Ye’s face. She glanced at Qing Xuantian and said, “You want me?”
“Yes, Little Ye. I know you’re scared…” the man answered quickly. Before he could deliver his sweet nothings, Bai Ye interrupted him.
“Then, disable her and bring back those beggars. Let them have their way with her,” Bai Ye said in a nonchalant manner.
