Chapter 94: 94: Desperate Situation (Five more s for subscription)

Even though they had long known that Ascenders were terrifying, the sight of the Ascender who hadn’t yet arrived slaying over a hundred Blue-Cap Mushroom Beasts with a single sword still caused Lin Shen’s scalp to tingle.

For a moment, Lin Shen didn’t know how to fight this battle; the speed of the red jade sword was faster than the bullets he fired with his Angel Revolver. Just the speed alone was enough to make one despair.

Boom!

The two figures in the sky, like having activated a speed booster, instantly landed on the ground, and the terrifying strength caused the stone ground harder than granite beneath the silver-haired elder’s feet to crack like a spider web.

“Ascenders are too terrifying,” Lin Shen frowned slightly.

If the opponent were Crystal Base Level, even a top-level Crystal Base, he still might stand a chance with his current strength and trump cards.

But facing an Ascender, Lin Shen saw no possibility of victory.

Wei Wufu jumped down from the back of the Red Jade Lion, a trident in hand, and stared intently at Zheng Guyuan.

“You’re called Wei Wufu, right? From the Wei Family of Tiancheng?” Zheng Guyuan squinted his eyes as he sized up Wei Wufu.

“If you want to fight, then let’s fight. Less talk, less bullshit,” Wei Wufu said emotionlessly, standing in front of Lin Shen.

“The Wei Family of Tiancheng, guarding a city for a hundred years, is the hardest backbone of humankind. I’m not nearly done admiring it; I would never harm a member of the Wei Family.” Zheng Guyuan said, his gaze shifting to Lin Shen still atop the Red Jade Lion, “This person has taken something that should belong to my nephew. I’m here to seek justice for my nephew, which is only right and proper. It has nothing to do with you, you’d better leave.”

Lin Shen sneered inwardly. His words were pleasant to hear, but it was nothing more than fear of the Wei Family’s reputation, not wanting to kill Wei Wufu and invite trouble.

His eyes shifting, Lin Shen said to Zheng Guyuan, “What is your relation to Zheng Yan?”

“This is my second uncle, Zheng Guyuan, an Ascender. I’m afraid you haven’t even heard of this name,” Zheng Yan said disdainfully, “Your path to death is of your own choice, and others can’t be blamed. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s that you chose to go against me, you picked the wrong opponent.”

However, Lin Shen completely ignored Zheng Yan, still looking at Zheng Guyuan with a cold laugh, “You’re here to find me, but it’s probably not just for vengeance on behalf of Zheng Yan. Are you after the two Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs I have, or do you want this Angel Revolver in my hand?”

“Both,” Zheng Guyuan’s expression remained unchanged, the red jade sword floating beside him trembled slightly, and in the next second, it suddenly disappeared.

“They’re not on me.” Lin Shen didn’t see anything, but as Zheng Guyuan spoke, he picked up on something wrong in his tone. Before the red jade sword even moved, he had already flipped off the back of the Red Jade Lion, shouting as he did.

Hum!

The red jade sword stopped in front of Lin Shen, the sword tip already touching his forehead, and just by touching, the tip pierced through the Mirror Carapace, and blood started to seep slowly from inside the carapace.

Wei Wufu’s face changed, his actions were much too slow, and he didn’t have time to intercept the red jade sword.

“Wei, don’t move,” Lin Shen called out to Wei Wufu, who had raised his trident, wanting to sweep the red jade sword away.

Lin Shen stared at the red jade sword before him; the blade, which resembled blood jade, had strange patterns on it.

Those patterns weren’t etched on the surface of the blade but seemed to be within the sword itself, emitting a strange light, like a vicious dragon or a venomous snake, and they also seemed to be alive, constantly shifting and changing.

Lin Shen knew this was the spirit of a Life Base; the stronger the spirit, the stronger the Life Base.

If it were an ordinary person seeing such a miraculous object as the red jade sword, their courage would likely be shattered by now.

Lin Shen could feel that Feizi, in his backpack, hadn’t moved at all, probably sensing the terror of the Ascender and not daring to show itself.

“Those two Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs aren’t on me. If you kill me, you’ll never get your hands on them.” Lin Shen slowly took off his backpack and threw it on the ground, then emptied his pockets, letting Zheng Guyuan see that he didn’t have the Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs on him.

When Lin Shen left the Ye Family, he didn’t take the Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs with him. Firstly, since they hadn’t hatched yet, they were useless to him; secondly, he considered that if he were to die, he wouldn’t want the Zheng Family to benefit from them.

Leaving them for Ye Yuzhen was still better than letting the people who killed him snatch them away.

“You’re a smart man. Tell me, where is it? Two Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs in exchange for the two of your lives,” said Zheng Guyuan indifferently.

“What makes me believe you?” Lin Shen countered.

“You don’t have a choice,” Zheng Guyuan’s gaze intensified, and the Red Jade Sword trembled again. The tip of the sword pierced a little deeper, and blood immediately seeped out.

“Alright, I’ll tell you where they are,” Lin Shen immediately said loudly.

“Speak?” Zheng Guyuan’s eyes were resolute, as if even the slightest disagreement would cause the Red Jade Sword to puncture Lin Shen’s head.

The reason he had come so quickly was partly to save Zheng Yan, but another important reason was for those two Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to find Lin Shen.

At his level, finding a Mutated Crystal Base egg wasn’t difficult, but finding a pair of mutated twin eggs that also met his requirements was no easy feat.

Had it been just for a Red Jade Lion, he wouldn’t have rushed to help Zheng Yan seek revenge; he should have gone to the Realm King Cultivation Device instead, where the benefits far outweighed those of a Red Jade Lion.

Lin Shen had seen through this fact, which is why he had called out as he did, and those words had saved his life for the moment.

“Can you move that thing away a bit?” Lin Shen pointed to the Red Jade Sword at his forehead and said.

“It’s all the same, wherever it is, I can take your life from a thousand miles away in an instant,” Zheng Guyuan meant that Lin Shen shouldn’t try any tricks, as his sword could take his life instantly no matter its location.

“I’m just trying to point out where I hid the stuff; you’re being a little too paranoid,” said Lin Shen, with the thing stuck in his forehead, not daring to move his head, only carefully shifting his body.

Zheng Guyuan saw his act and let out a cold snort, the Red Jade Sword immediately moved next to him as if it had teleported.

Lin Shen breathed a sigh of relief, wiped the blood from his forehead, moved his neck, and without waiting for Zheng Guyuan to urge him, began looking around, as if he was recognizing a place.

Wei Wufu knew Lin Shen was delaying time, but he couldn’t figure out the significance. They had no one to rescue them, and Lin Shen couldn’t delay for long; the end result would be the same.

If he stubbornly refused to talk, for the Mutant Sea Demon God General eggs, Zheng Guyuan might still not kill him.

But letting Zheng Guyuan find out that Lin Shen was toying with him might enrage him and make him decide to kill more ruthlessly.

After all, for Ascenders, eggs like the Mutant Sea Demon God General’s weren’t essential; he probably wanted them for future generations of his family, using them as leverage might not be effective.

Lin Shen was delaying time, but he wasn’t waiting for rescue; he was waiting for the Black-Capped Mushroom Beast.

Zheng Guyuan had killed so many of the Black-Capped Mushroom Beast’s underlings upon arriving which, knowing the vengeful nature of the beast, it probably wouldn’t let slide so easily.

He hadn’t seen it since the skirmish began, and he didn’t know whether it would dare to come out or not.

Although the chance was slim, it was better than none; Lin Shen wouldn’t let go of any opportunity to survive.

“Over there,” Lin Shen seemed to see something, his eyes briefly brightened, and then he randomly pointed in that direction and said to Zheng Guyuan.
