Chapter 297: Let her sleep more time.

Chapter 297: Let her sleep more time.

Little Liu, being honest, suddenly heard Cheng Jia’s words, frowned and blurted out the question. The slight change in Tong Shishi’s face who was sitting next to him made her look at him perplexed.

“I’m pregnant, it’s your child.”

Cheng Jia seemed quite uncomfortable, her voice was intermittent, mixed with a doctor’s voice, “Come to People’s Hospital quickly…”

“Ah, be careful!”

Frightened beyond belief, Little Liu lost control of the steering wheel in his hand, and almost collided with the car overtaking next to him, which frightened Tong Shishi into a scream.

The next second, the car screeched to a halt on the roadside.

Under the dim light, his face was indistinct, and the look in his eyes was complicated.

“What happened?”

Tong Shishi looked at Little Liu worryingly and asked. Before, he had mentioned the car accident involving the friend of his family’s young mistress. Seeing Little Liu in silence, just staring numbly ahead, she gave him a nudge, “Is your family’s young mistress pregnant?”

Only then did Little Liu slowly turn his head and look at Tong Shishi. He opened his mouth, wanting to tell her, but he didn’t know how to say it.

“Shishi, let me take you home first, and tomorrow, I’ll tell you what it is.”

“Okay!”

Tong Shishi seemed unhurried, giving him a comforting smile.

After dropping Tong Shishi home, Little Liu headed straight for the hospital to find Cheng Jia.

Knowing that the young master of his family was still in the hospital with the young mistress, he didn’t dare to bother him with such a trivial matter.

When he arrived, Cheng Jia had just returned to the ward from the operating room. The hospital admission procedures were done by the nurse in advance. When she saw Little Liu come in, she pointed to the edge of the bed, indicating him to sit.

“How could you be pregnant?”

Little Liu didn’t sit. His tall figure stood stiffly in the ward, looking at Cheng Jia, pale on the bed.

A hint of sadness flashed in Cheng Jia’s eyes. She touched the area over her belly through the quilt and whispered, “It must have been the first night. We didn’t take precautions that night, and I forgot to take the morning-after pill.”

Little Liu’s eyebrows were tightly furrowed. Clearly, he didn’t like this child.

Yet, he couldn’t possibly have the heart to let her abort the child. After all, this was his first child.

“When did you know you were pregnant?”

“I’ve been feeling a bit nauseous these past couple of days. I wanted to go to the hospital for a check-up over the weekend, but I fell tonight and had horrible stomach pains, so I rushed to the hospital. The doctor told me it was early pregnancy.”

“I felt that as the father of the child, you have the right to know about the child’s existence. If you don’t want it, you can pretend that I never told you about it.”

Cheng Jia looked at Little Liu’s furrowed brow and indifferent expression and murmured quietly.

“Are you planning to give birth?”

Little Liu looked at Cheng Jia in surprise. He didn’t think she was the kind of woman who had maternal love.

Cheng Jia lowered her head to look at her abdomen. Although it was separated by a quilt and the little life had not yet formed, her eyes were indeed filled with a soft maternal love, “This is my first child, and I can’t bear to get rid of her.”

Little Liu raised his hand in a headache to rub his forehead.

“Take me home, I don’t want to stay in the hospital.”

Cheng Jia said, lifting the quilt to get up.

She still had an IV in the back of her hand.

Little Liu’s face changed instantly, and he quickly stepped forward to stop her, grasping her wrist tightly, “No, you have to finish this IV first, and stay here for observation tonight. You can go home tomorrow.”

Cheng Jia laughed coldly in her heart, acting pitiful on the outside, “I don’t want to make it hard for you.”

Wen Ran stayed with Bai Xiaoxiao in the hospital all night.

It was almost dawn when she finally fell asleep on the edge of the bed. Shortly after, the door of the ward was opened. Footsteps were light, someone walked to the front of the bed, looked at Bai Xiaoxiao, who was sound asleep on the bed, bent down and lifted Wen Ran from the edge of the bed.

She frowned slightly in her sleep, and in her anxious dreams, she raised her hand to push away unwillingly.

The man holding her in a gentle grip, encircling her slender body in his arms, “Ranran, let’s go downstairs to rest.”

Mo Xiuchen carried Wen Ran out of the ICU, nodded to the special nursing assistant waiting at the door, and let them watch over Bai Xiaoxiao.

“She finally fell asleep.”

A few steps away, Gu Kai stood tall, his eyes filled with distress as he looked at the woman in Mo Xiuchen’s arms.

Mo Xiuchen looked at Wen Ran gently, “I want her to sleep a little longer, until Bai Xiaoxiao wakes up.”

She like this, wouldn’t sleep for long. Once awake, she would definitely stay by Bai Xiaoxiao’s side. Bai Xiaoxiao wouldn’t wake up for a few days, and Wen Ran would force herself to stay up the whole time. Mo Xiuchen really couldn’t bear to see that.

Gu Kai’s eyebrows furrowed slightly as he walked downstairs next to him, “Let her sleep for a day, at least that way, she can have a good rest before taking care of Bai Xiaoxiao.”

Mo Xiuchen carried Wen Ran into a ward, placed her on a not-so-wide bed, and the corner of his lips curved into a gentle arc. His long fingers gently brushed over the strands of hair on her cheek.

Two minutes later, Gu Kai entered the room holding a cup of water, and Wen Jin came in with him.

“You’re the patient, why aren’t you sleeping?”

Mo Xiuchen glanced at Wen Jin sitting in the wheelchair. Last night, he and Gu Kai stayed on the ICU floor, while Wen Jin was in his own ward.

If Wen Ran isn’t sleeping, then he also can’t sleep.

Wen Jin cast a light glance over him, looking at Wen Ran, who was sleeping on the bed, “I heard from Gu Kai, you want Ranran to sleep longer?”

“Yes, she won’t be able to bear it like this.”

Mo Xiuchen took the cup of water from Gu Kai’s hand. Inside it was only half a cup of water with a dissolved pill.

“You’re going to wake her up?”

Seeing him help Wen Ran up, Wen Jin frowned slightly.

Mo Xiuchen didn’t look back, he simply uttered a ‘no’, sat down on the edge of the bed, took a sip of water, held it in his mouth, and lowered his head to kiss Wen Ran.

Wen Jin’s eyes changed slightly, and she lowered her head to look at her own wheelchair.

Gu Kai apparently anticipated Mo Xiuchen’s method and didn’t find it strange. He simply turned to Wen Jin and said, “Since Ranran is sleeping, you can go back and rest.”

“Hmmm!”

Wen Jin no longer watched the sight of Mo Xiuchen feeding water by mouth, and refused to let Gu Kai send her. She pushed herself in her wheelchair out of the ward.

Wen Ran had been up all night, and she was frightened, anxious, and sad. As soon as she fell asleep, she fell deeply asleep. Even when Mo Xiuchen fed her water with his mouth, she only whimpered and didn’t wake up.

Gu Kai followed them out of the ward, waiting outside for Mo Xiuchen to finish before coming back in.

In the ward, there were only Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. Even though it was only feeding her water, when he touched her soft lips, he couldn’t help but get a little carried away. After feeding her water, he was still reluctant to leave her lips.

He lingered on her lips tenderly and affectionately for a while, reluctantly letting her go, and gently put her back on the bed.

Wen Ran’s eyebrows knitted together slightly. She didn’t know if she was unhappy because of his just-then imposition or because he left. He curved his lips, and leaned down to kiss her forehead, his voice hoarse, “Ranran, we’re going to give you two days off. Have a good sleep.”
