Chapter 2: The Fantasy System

Chapter 2: The Fantasy System

*Ding*

[Would host like to bind Fantasy System to soul?]

[Y/N]

"YES!" exclaimed Edward without any hesitation.

[Binding started, please be patient while binding]

0%...

around 10 minutes later.

100%...

[Soul-Binding complete]

"So what happens now?" Edward could only helplessly comment as he was waiting for something to happen.

[Host can now check the available functions of the system]

[Would host like to be scanned first so as to determine the current body's state?]

"Okay begin the scanning system!!"

[Starting scan 0%...20%...50%...100%]

*Ding*

[scan complete]

Name: Edward Avalon.

Age: 18.

Cultivation state: None (Crippled cultivation from birth).

Skills: Etiquette.

Abilities: None.

Monsters: None.

Evaluation: You're gonna have a hard time...

'What the hell is this?!!' Edward couldn't help but think this way from the scan he got, even the evaluation from the System was pitying him.

"Can you show me what functions you have System?" Although shocked Ed didn't have any choice in the matter so he couldn't help it but move on.

[System has 3 main functions. The first one being the Scan, this function is always available and can be used anytime]

[The second function is the Gacha function. This function is divided into weapons Gacha, armor Gacha, skill Gacha, function Gacha and monster Gacha. In case of a system improvement this function cannot be used so please remember this.]

"So how can I use the Gacha?"

[for the host to be able to use this function, Host needs to gather Gacha tickets]

"But won't that take too long since there are so many types of Gacha? How do you even gather the Gacha tickets?"

[Host misunderstood the function, although it is divided it is still only 1 function so only 1 type of ticket exists and it is usable for all sub-Gacha. To gather the tickets, Host needs to kill monsters or complete quests.]

[All monsters have a chance to drop the tickets, however, the higher the cultivation state of the monster the higher the chance; on top of that special tickets can be dropped when killing monsters with a cultivation base higher than host's own]

"Wait, what type of 'special' tickets?" Ed couldn't help but ask the System.

[Host will need to find out for himself] The System gave out a cold answer as usual.

"So what about the final function?"

[The final function is the Inventory function. This function allows the Host to store all the Gacha tickets as well as the objects gotten from said Gacha]

'I see it wouldn't be logical to keep the things I get from the Gacha on myself all the time...'

[The Inventory function also comes with the exchange option, in case host has no need for an item it can be exchanged for Gacha tickets depending on the rarity of the said item.]

"Won't that allow to keep re-rolling items until I get a good one?" Ed was surprised but also happy if such a thing was possible.

[Although it can be exchanged, the exchange rate isn't fixed. The host may get Gacha tickets or only pieces of Gacha tickets. I suggest for Host not to get greedy.]

'Well, he's not wrong...'

[Suggesting for Host to take a look at the Inventory as a gift had been prepared for him.]

'A gift?!!' Ed exclaimed in his mind and immediately asked for the System to open the Inventory for him.

*DING*

[Soul-Binding gift has been found, would Host like to open?]

"System what will this gift do?"

[this gift is given by the System to the Host as a form of skills and abilities as well as a weapon to help the Host survive. This gift is gotten as a result of a successful soul-binding.]

"System, what is the difference between the skills and the abilities."

[Skills can be considered to be always active while abilities can only be activated following certain conditions. You can consider them as being active and passive skills.]

'I still don't really understand it that well....well nothing I can do about it.'

"System open the gift now!!"

[Asking host to confirm, Y/N?]

"Yes!"

*DING*

[Opening gift... Gift opened!]

A series of clicking sounds were heard in Ed's brain, this made him feel very uncomfortable but he still bared with it.

Acquired Ocular skill: Sharingan.

Acquired Movement skill: Spectral shadow steps.

Acquired Weapon: Murata-tou.

Acquired Pill: Body reforming pill.

Acquired 10 Gacha tickets.

Reading all the things he had just gotten from the system, Ed couldn't help but open his mouth in shock after all 2 of those things were well known for him as he was an otaku.

"System how come I've gotten the Sharingan?!!"

[Reminding host that I am the Fantasy System nothing is out of my reach even anime, movies or comics can be grasped by me.]

"well, then how about the movement skill where is it from?"

[Although the System can access anything fantasy related that doesn't mean it lacks creativity.]

'I see...' Ed began to understand a little bit how the system works.

Ed then suddenly remembered that the System told him he would get all sorts of skills and abilities so he was expecting a cultivation method, but he didn't get any so asked the System about it "How come I didn't get any cultivation technique?".

[Reminding Host of the previous scan. The host has a crippled cultivation state so even if he gets a cultivation method it wouldn't help with anything]

[System has taken the liberty to exchange the cultivation technique with the body reforming pill. This pill can help the host heal his body and begin to cultivate like a normal human]

Hearing what the system said Ed almost leaped with joy, but as soon as he tried to lift his body intense pain had hit him.

"OUCH!!" Ed had forgotten the prince's body was in a critical state, the prince might have even died which caused Ed to have his soul in it right now.

"System can you do a general check on the injuries of this body?"

[That can be arranged with the scan function]

Understanding that the System had many hidden functions Ed knew that he had a long way to go before fully mastering his new found powers.

*Ding*

[Commencing scan. Target Host. Waiting for results!].
