Chapter 519 - Forced to Seek Aid

Chapter 519: Forced to Seek Aid

Indeed, these men had cultivation in the realm of True Essence. No matter whether it was the intention of the blade or speed at which it moved, the level of skill was at a much higher level than that of even Ye Qianhe’s.

If this attack was launched against the Ling Chuxi of the past, she would not even have had the chance of escape upon meeting with this level of cultivation. But since she was just promoted to the Great Fulfilment Pinnacle stage, Ling Chuxi’s heart lit up with a vigorous battle intent.

“Leave,” said Ling Chuxi to Jiang Wuhen, sending him far away with a single kick before meeting the other party’s attack.

The Luo Chen Sword emitted a dragon’s roar as the accumulated spiral Battle Qi generated by the Turning Cloud Gesture appeared with a thunder-like rumble and a muffled ring.

“You’re overestimating yourself!” snorted the leading black-robed man the sword in his hand began to execute moves even faster.

Both their swords clashed against each other, releasing crisp ringing sounds and causing a dazzling spark to appear from the two of them as its focal point before sending out a brilliant ripple of light across everything else.

Ghost Shadow was shaken till he was sent back a couple of steps and he couldn’t help but be shocked. Although Ling Chuxi was at Great Fulfilment Pinnacle stage, meaning that her cultivation level stood at an innate gap from his which was at the realm of True Essence, he never thought that her usage of the Turning Cloud Gesture to accumulate spiral Battle Qi could produce such might.

Taking advantage of the other party being shaken into a retreat, Ling Chuxi then shouted, “Quick, let’s leave!” before speedily retreating. She had already used her strongest cultivation attack, and yet it was only able to shake the other party into taking a few steps backwards. If she didn’t run, then what would she do? Wait for death? She wasn’t that stupid.

Ling Yichen’s feet moved quickly, as he moved into a protective position behind Ling Chuxi as they ran, following her footsteps closely in this hasty escape.

“So you want to leave, huh? That won’t be so easy,” said Ghost Shadow to himself. He had been momentarily careless and Ling Chuxi had grabbed onto the opportunity it presented to escape. He felt anger in his heart as he chased after Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen.

Though it had only been just a short moment, their figures had already disappeared from his line of sight.

Elsewhere, Jiang Wuhen found himself lightly floating before he fell to the ground. Ling Chuxi’s seemingly careless kick was executed using strength but with extremely exquisite control. She had sent him flying off far away yet without causing him the slightest harm.

Jiang Wuhen only took a few steps forward attempting to break into run and then stopped. Because Ghost Shadow and the rest of his men were only bothered in hunting down Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen, practically no one cared about whether he lived or died.

“Ling Chuxi, despite it all, you still treat me as a companion even now?” pondered Jiang Wuhen as he looked in the direction into which Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen had disappeared and his expression became complicated. He stood rooted at his original spot in a daze, staring in that direction for a long time without moving. After a long while, he looked to the sky, closed his eyes and released a long breath, as if he was making an extremely difficult decision.

“Come out. I know you are there,” said Jiang Wuhen lightly with a sigh after much deliberation. Aside from him, the clearing was empty. It wasn’t known whom he was talking to.

“Young Master,” greeted a wrinkly old man who appeared before Jiang Wuhen. Dressed in coarse robes, his body was hunched and it looked like he could fall to the ground and never get back up again anytime soon. However, there was an occasional breathtakingly fine light in his eyes.

“Grandfather Qing, I need your help,” said Jiang Wuhen, looking at the old man.

“Master wants you to return,” replied the old man, just saying what he wanted to say without bothering to address Jiang Wuhen’s words.

“You already know my stance. I have said it before and I still mean it. I will never return to the Feng family,” replied Jiang Wuhen with a cold expression.

“Since you have already decided to never return to the Feng family, then you are no longer someone of the Feng family so why should I help you?” retorted the old man with an even colder and more detached expression.

“Grandfather Qing, you watched me grow up. Consider this request as me begging you for help. Please help me this time.” There was a hint of an unprecedented imploring tone that Jiang Wuhen’s words contained. Under such dire circumstances, Ling Chuxi had still considered his safety and took the time to send him away, unwilling to let anything bad befall him. Once and yet again. He had once thought that the word ‘companion’ was so far beyond him. But now, there was a warmth to the word that he had never felt before.
