Chapter 449 - Chuxi’s Sorrow
Chapter 449:
Chuxi’s Sorrow
Ling Yichen was also a disciple of the Ling family. No matter how far he walked or how tall he stood, he would always be a disciple of the Ling family. As he looked at the tragic scene before his eyes, the fury and pain in his heart was no less than Ling Chuxi’s.
Besides anger, there was also guilt in Fu Chengyu’s eyes. Everything had started because of him. Only the fresh blood on his sword could slightly wash away the guilt in his heart.
They did not even notice those tragic screams as the shadows of people collapsed to the ground one by one. The smell of blood in the air became even stronger.
Ling Chuxi no longer cared for what was happening behind her. She was only holding on to Second Elder tightly. Her tears dripped down her cheeks and dampened the Second Elder’s face which was lined with the remnants of a long life. The golden needles were already stuck onto his body and he had already taken the medical pills. Yet they were unable to prevent his life from passing. His injuries were too heavy.
“Chuxi, you have finally come.” Second Elder looked at Ling Chuxi kindly and there was such comfort and warmth in his smile.
“Second Elder, it’s my fault. It’s my fault. Blame it all on me...” Ling Chuxi’s heart was twitching non-stop and her tears which could not be suppressed had gushed out.
Ling Yichen felt as if his heart had been twisted by a knife as he looked upon her grief-stricken appearance. Yet he could not even say a word.
“Silly brat. Stop crying now. You will not look good if you cry any further.” Second Elder caressed Ling Chuxi’s face with much difficulty as he smiled and said.
“Second Elder...” Ling Chuxi threw herself onto the Second Elder’s body.
“Alright, silly brat. This is the medicine that you have been looking for. I happened to have found it for you. Keep it properly.” Second Elder took out a wooden box while trembling and passed it into the hands of Ling Chuxi.
Fu Chengyu felt even guiltier when he saw this wooden box. He hung his head low.
It was at this moment that a tyrannical aura gushed out suddenly from behind the mountain rocks. A light of the sword which was as swift as a sudden clap of thunder that left no time for one to cover the ears, stabbed toward Ling Chuxi.
The realm of Great Fulfilment. It was actually the realm of Great Fulfilment.
No one would have thought that after killing all those so called bandits, there was actually an enemy that was still hiding in the dark corners. Furthermore their cultivation was at the realm of Great Fulfilment. At this time, both Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen were in deep sorrow and pain. And it was as if Fu Chengyu’s soul had left his body because of his guilt. They were totally unguarded.
Seeing that Ling Chuxi was in danger, Ling Yichen and Fu Chengyu had almost subconsciously moved themselves in front of Ling Chuxi to block the attack. However, two rays of light from the swords had flashed by suddenly and stabbed toward both of their chests.
Everything happened so quickly. Who would have thought that the opposite party still had tricks up their sleeves? It was either they flew away and retreated or they sacrificed their lives to save her? In between a flash of lightning and the spark of the flint, the both of them made the same choice. They used an even faster speed to block in front of Ling Chuxi’s body. But even if they were any faster, how could they be faster than the speed of a sword? That was a sword from the realm of Great Fulfilment.
Ling Chuxi was also shocked by this sudden move and her heart trembled.
‘Turns out that there is an expert of the realm of Great Fulfilment hiding in the dark corners. If he had struck out slightly earlier, Second Elder and Fifth Elder may not even have the opportunity to escape till this point. Why must he wait till now to strike out? Could it be that his real target was herself and killing Second Elder was only just a trap?’ In an instant, this thought flashed in Ling Chuxi’s mind.
The tear stains still hung on her face. Her heart was still hurting like being cut by a knife. Yet Ling Chuxi had instinctively held up her fingertips. It was too late to draw out her sword right now. Perhaps she might not even have touched the hilt of the sword and her heart would already have been pierced through by the opposite party’s sword.
The Battle Qi was accumulating at her fingertips. There was a flash of starlight from her sparkling and tender fingertips. It was brighter than the sword and even more chilling.
Even a shade of shock could be seen in the eyes of the man in black who was colliding head on with her, full of murderous intent.
