Chapter 124 - Not the Least Bit Friendly!
Chapter 124: Not the Least Bit Friendly!
So, this arrogant young maiden was actually Her Highness, The Fifth Princess. They did hear about the fifth princess transferring to White Stone Academy, but they never thought they’d run into her here. And get into a conflict with her no less.
The fifth princess stretched her hand out to point at Gao Rongrong. “Take a look at this pig head. What manner of cooking would be most suitable for it?”
The waiter hesitated as he turned to look in the direction the fifth princess was pointing in with a lost expression. Suddenly, he jumped up with a surprised yelp. The pig head the fifth princess was referring to was really big! Oh, no! It was a human head. It was the silver-spoon maiden who had scolded him earlier. What happened to her that she looked like this? Her head was so swollen that it looked no different from a pig’s head with big fat ears and eyes which were so puffy, they narrowed into splits.
“So, cold mix or braised?” asked the fifth princess with a serious expression.
The waiter shook his head, trembling. He was almost unable to stand upright properly. Both parties included people he could not offend! How could he dare say anything?
Gao Rongrong was shocked. She looked at her own swollen hands that resembled pig trotters through the narrow field of vision of her swollen eyes. Even without thinking too deeply about it, she also knew how her face looked like right now. Hearsay, the fifth princess was proficient in using poisons, but she never thought they’d be used on her. ‘Ugh! How is it that I ran into people like these?’
“Your Highness, we ask your forgiveness.” Gao Rongrong’s guards immediately asked for forgiveness. Their own miss had to admit that she was unlucky today. Never did she think that she’d actually offend the fifth princess.
“Ah...” sniffled Gao Rongrong as she began sobbing intensely. Soon she was wailing madly and rushed out the door holding up her pig head with her pig trotters. Gao Rongrong’s guards immediately put their fists to their palms in a gesture admitting their mistake and apologized before they quickly ran after her.
The comedic episode thus ended and Ling Chuxi calmly asked the waiter to close the door. Then, the group of them continued eating and finished their meal in peace.
...
The second day of classes was focused on martial arts practice. After the instructing teacher explained the basic uses of Battle Qi and other fundamental knowledge, the remaining time was for the students to conduct their own practice. Naturally, students were allowed to exchange pointers with each other.
All the students present paired up very quickly and started practicing. There were students who sought out Xia Zhuoyi to exchange pointers, others who sought out Ling Yichen to exchange pointers, and even some who sought out the fifth princess to exchange pointers. Only Ling Chuxi was left alone, rooted to where she stood since nobody had sought her out to exchange pointers!
It was just two days ago that Ling Chuxi had defeated Lan Xinyu, White Stone Academy’s peerless genius. Everyone had seen it. Who would dare exchange pointers with her now? Wouldn’t doing so be self-inflicted torture?
Ling Chuxi looked at the groups of students sparring with each other intensely with begrudging eyes. ‘Nobody sought me out to exchange pointers at all! Your uncle!’ Ling Chuxi cursed in her heart. ‘All of my classmates are treating me so heartlessly! Didn’t any of them feel that this was too inhumane?! There isn’t even be a little bit of friendliness between fellow students as far as they were concerned! How hateful!’
The two students nearest to Ling Chuxi had just finished exchanging pointers and were drenched in sweat. They blew out their breaths and were just about to take a break when they saw Ling Chuxi’s gaze sweep over them. They immediately became energized once more.
“Ah, you know, I feel that your tactics just now were really good. Why don’t you show me your moves again?”
“Oh, sure, sure. Actually, I feel your tactics were more domineering. Come on then, let us exchange pointers again.”
The two students finished speaking and ran off like rabbits to continue exchanging pointers away from Ling Chuxi. They were so afraid she would call out to exchange pointers with either one of them if they had been just a step slower in running away from her.
“Teacher, nobody is willing to exchange pointers with me. Why don’t you guide me for a bit?” suggested Ling Chuxi with a smile as she stood up in a bored manner and walked over to the supervising teacher who was standing off to the side.
“Ah, student Ling Chuxi. I... Well, I—Aiya! My stomach hurts so much! Please excuse me. Just a moment.” Without waiting for Ling Chuxi to respond, the teacher ran off with a hand over his stomach once he was done speaking.
