Chapter 194: Who Owns This City?

Chapter 194: Who Owns This City?

Immediately the match resumed, both teams once again began tearing into each other with different emotions behind their efforts.

The Sporting CP team was doing all it could to try and get an equalizer to get them back on equal terms with Porto once again, but Porto was also doing all it could to get an extra goal and push the Sporting CP team out of their reach and avoid any unexpected situations.

Their intentions canceled each other’s efforts for the most part but shots were still sent flying at each other’s goal every other minute but the scoreboard operator remained undisturbed.

#90+3 minutes…

{We’re a minute away from witnessing Porto lift their 29th Primera Liga title and I can almost hear the fans already celebrating in their homes, in the bars, and everywhere that celebration could take place}

{Porto has withstood the test of time and emerged as the best team in the Primera Liga this season, and they are now only a minute away from taking the accolades for their efforts}

{It was a tough journey filled with all ups and downs, gains and losses, players coming and going, but the team stood strong even in the face of it all and kept pushing…}

{Barely thirty minutes ago, they were still behind, and now they’re in the lead!}

{We’ve seen this happen a few times this season but this time, it will not only end in their win… but the players will also be lifting the title while their opponents will rue their missed chances}

{It cannot be said that Sporting CP didn’t play well, but today just wasn’t their day}

{Even now, they are cleverly moving the ball around, but they’re passing the ball around at their end instead of taking the ball to the oppositi- Oh Tiquiniho has once again intercepted the ball in the final third} The commentator’s ending messages for the match was interrupted when Tiquiniho Soares once again intercepted a pass between the two Sporting CP center backs and once again began charging at the Sporting CP goalkeeper in a way that was reminiscent of Porto’s second goal.

{Once again, the Sporting CP defenders are chasing Tiquiniho Soares as he bears down on their goal all thanks to their sloppy passing for the second time this match}

{They already conceded a goal like this earlier, but it seems they still haven’t learned their lesson and the Porto striker is once ready to punish their mistakes, and this time he shoots!} The commentator bellowed as Soares shot the ball past the goalkeeper unlike before when he passed the ball to Jason.

The ball flew past Sporting CP’s goalkeeper who was no match for the powerful shot and then,

*CLANG*

{Oh! It’s hit the bar and bounced back towards the Porto striker!}

{What will he do here!?}

Soares got to the ball on the right side of the Sporting 18-yard and immediately passed the ball to Jason who was just arriving outside the penalty area since there were already three defenders in the penalty box and they were crowding out the front of the goal.

Jason received the ball and immediately nutmegged the Sporting player who tried to tackle him as he received the ball.

Going behind the nutmegged player to receive the ball, Jason passed the ball to Otavio who was on his left and ran into the penalty box expecting a return pass, but Otavio after receiving the ball passed the ball towards the left wing where Alex Telles had just arrived.

Telles slowed his run to match the ball’s pace and hit it first time, sending a high cross into the penalty box.

Jason who had run into the box earlier saw the cross but immediately realized that he had already run past the optimal path of the cross and that the ball would arrive behind him so he immediately stopped his run and backtracked, but no matter how fast he ran, it seemed inevitable that he would not arrive in time to do anything more than touch the ball the first and bring it under control before having to pass.

Unfortunately, the whistle was already in the referee’s mouth and would be blown at any time, but Jason didn’t want to let this chance get past him so he decided to risk it all and he jumped into the air as soon as he was near enough to the arriving ball and arched his body mid-air, his body going into the position for an overhead kick,

{The attack isn’t over yet as the ball is moving towards Jason who takes air and oh what a daring attempt!}

Jason caught the ball on his right foot while still in the air in the overhead kick position and sent the ball flying at the goal, along with the Sporting goalkeeper flying after the ball, but missing.

The ball safely lodged into the back of the net to the surprise and amazement of everyone watching, including Jason who had performed the overhead kick.

Despite landing on the floor heavily from attempting the overhead kick, Jason quickly got back to his feet and started running down to the sideline with his joy and excitement having taken over his mind.

He dodged his teammates who tried to hug him as he ran, his mind only on one thing as he ran down the sidelines and then, jumping into a slide tackle, he slide kicked the corner flag and broke it in the process.

Then he got back to his feet and grabbed the corner flag and lifted it high into the air before stabbing it back into the ground as he shouted,

“I own this city! Me!”

Before he could spread out his hands as if to hug the sky, which was supposed to be the next part of his celebration, his teammates jumped on him, bringing an end to another iconic celebration of Jason.
