Chapter 295 Declaring The Fantasia Religion As Heresy!
"I hope that they don\'t have too much of a deep hatred towards the human race. Otherwise, I and the ancestors might not be able to protect the human race from those two."
Dunstan sighed as his eyes that had witnessed the vicissitudes of life gazed at Alister and Zanna pass through the walls and ground.
Dunstan\'s piercing gaze wasn\'t left unnoticed by Alister and Zanna, especially at their level.
Although Alister and Zanna ignored the gazes of those weaker humans whose attention was attracted to them, they could still filter out those that were relevant such as perceiving the gaze of Dunstan Beverleye.
As one of the only two living powerhouses in the human race, Dunstan wasn\'t ignored by Alister and Zanna. It could be said that it was impossible for them to ignore him since their target was the holy church and it was impossible for Dunstan to turn a blind eye to their actions.
Dunstan might not be able to stop them, but he and the rest of the human powerhouses could at least annoy Alister and Zanna for a minute.
The outside world might not know, but the higher-ups of the other major races especially those long-lived races knew the secret of the human race.
Although there might be two grand-level human powerhouses on the surface, things weren\'t as what they seemed.
Those human powerhouses from the past, before they died, could voluntarily seal themselves under the holy church to preserve the power of the human race and protect the glory of the human race.
It was one of the deterrence of the human race which prevented the other major races from attacking the human race aside from the fact that the Goddess of Fantasy was on the side of the human race.
After all, some powerful members of other major races might ignore the deterrence of Fantasia backing the human race. It was not that they weren\'t afraid of the Goddess, but they thought that the Goddess would turn a blind eye to annihilating a part of the human race as long as the whole human race wasn\'t exterminated.
And for the most part, that was true. As long as her religion could still be spread and there were still a certain amount of devout believers generating some faith energy, Fantasia could care less about the extermination of some humans.
If the human race was exterminated to the point that it couldn\'t provide her any considerable amount of faith energy, Fantasia wouldn\'t make a move and would mostly just ask the World Will to resurrect those dead believers of hers.
However, if her religion was replaced by another prominent religion and it challenged her majesty as the Goddess of Fantasy, that would indeed attract her attention and interference.
So far, none of the beings in this world has ever offended the goddess to that extent. Even Zanna didn\'t dare to do it. She didn\'t want to offend the goddess which would lead to the destruction of her spirit race.
Since no one has ever offended the goddess to that extent and replaced her religion, Fantasia didn\'t take any action even if the human race faced war.
At most, she only suggested the plan of sealing the ancestors of the human race in the underground secret room of the holy church to act as the backbone of the human race. The magic spell used to seal those ancient human powerhouses was invented by the goddess and bestowed to the pope of the holy church.
Fantasia was already busy with the affairs in the God Realm as well as finding new worlds and transforming them into her faith power generator. Because of that, she could at most give the holy church a method to deter the other races but she wasn\'t the human race\'s babysitter who would take responsibility for the human race whenever they were in trouble.
With this method, it was up to the human race to gather and accumulate their human powerhouses.
Although it could seal off the human powerhouses and preserve their lifespan in a suspended animation-like state, it didn\'t guarantee that all human powerhouses would volunteer to do this.
Furthermore, even if they did preserve their life, most of the human powerhouses who would do this would be those at the end of their twilight years. Because of that, even if they were unsealed, they would no longer be at their prime.
If they overexert themselves, their old and aged bodies might crumble and wouldn\'t be as durable and powerful as the bodies of those powerhouses who were in their prime.
If it was just a battle between powerhouses and a one-versus-one battle at that, those sealed ancient human powerhouses would undoubtedly lose.
The holy church was well aware of that and that\'s why they decided to go with quantity over quality.
It was only once since they ever unsealed some of the powerful ancestors of the human race and it was due to a demon general attacking the holy church and exterminating most of the population.
With the reveal of the ancient human powerhouses in the past, the major races dared not offend the human race to that extent unless they were confident that they could bypass the quantity through their quality.
Only Zanna and the Dragon King could ever achieve that but since they didn\'t have a reason to offend the human race, none of them ever went that far.
Although not all of the human powerhouses would ever choose to seal themselves, the holy church did guarantee that those human powerhouses\' families would be granted a Marquis noble rank.
Because of that, those human powerhouses with a family wouldn\'t hesitate to volunteer in sealing themselves under the holy church to not only protect the human race but to also make their families into nobles.
Only those human powerhouses who had no family and weren\'t noble enough to sacrifice themselves for the human race would choose not to seal themselves and instead, spend their twilight years enjoying their life.
Soon enough, Alister and Zanna arrived above the holy church, garnering the attention of the Pope and the priests in the holy church.
"I hereby declare that the Fantasia Religion is heresy! It\'s a blasphemous religion built upon by a false goddess!"
