Chapter 241 Entering Reoserin City
Chapter 241 Entering Reoserin City
While one of the elven city guards headed to inform the city lord of Reoserin City, the rest of the elves continued kneeling toward Alister.
One of the elven city guards spoke, "Your Excellency, do you need a guide? We can also provide free accommodation at the city lord\'s guest mansion."
Although, as a mere guard, the elven city guard normally didn\'t have the authority to allocate the guest mansion. But, that was only on normal occasions.
For those with a grand-level or master-level token, the city guards could let the holder of any of those tokens live in the guest mansion temporarily.
After all, even if they couldn\'t befriend a powerhouse or someone backed by a powerhouse, they couldn\'t afford to offend them.
Reoserin City might be one of the main cities of Lyathas. But that didn\'t mean the Elf King wouldn\'t sacrifice Reoserin City if ever the city lord had offended a grand-level powerhouse.
Of course, if it\'s only a master-level powerhouse, then the Elf King wouldn\'t go to that extreme and just let the city lord deal with that master-level powerhouse. After all, the Master Mage in Reoserin City was none other than the city lord.
With the long lifespan that elves have, it wouldn\'t be unusual for a city lord to be in position for thousands of years.
The longer someone lived in luxury, the more they valued their life and wanted to keep on living with such luxury. The city lord of Reoserin City didn\'t want to die that early after offending someone he couldn\'t afford to offend.
Because of that, he made sure that the entrance guards chosen were someone who could recognize all of the identification tokens. Furthermore, the elven city lord even went as far as creating several guest mansions in Reoserin City just to accommodate to those powerhouses or those who were backed by powerhouses.
Since the elven city guards didn\'t offend him, Alister wasn\'t unreasonable enough to make trouble when the city guards had eyes to treat him well.
If those elven city guards couldn\'t even recognize his Grand Mage token, Alister would let them know the consequences of disrespecting someone you can\'t afford to disrespect.
But since they recognized the token and were even willing to provide free accommodation, Alister agreed to it, "We don\'t need a guide as my wife and I plan to tour around Reoserin City by ourselves. However, we will gladly live in the guest mansion if that isn\'t a problem."
Hearing Alister\'s words, the elven city guards immediately shook their heads, "No Your Excellency, it\'s not a problem at all. Just inform us if you ever need any assistance."
Alister nodded his head and agreed. Afterward, he flicked the reins and commanded the horse to enter Reoserin City since the elven city guards no longer blocked the entrance.
Seeing Alister and the royal carriage enter Reoserin City, the elven city guards breathed a sigh of relief that everything went well and they didn\'t offend Alister and the person inside the royal carriage.
But when they realized what Alister had said before, they had a discussion amongst themselves.
"Wait, did his excellency mention having a wife? Is his wife the one inside the royal carriage? Is he perhaps not a coachman but perhaps the owner of the Grand Mage token?"
"Either that coachman is the Grand Mage or his wife is the Grand Mage. It could also be that one of them is either the disciple or descendant of a Grand Mage."
"Nevertheless, we can\'t afford to offend him or the person inside the royal carriage. With how eccentric those grand-level powerhouses are, that coachman might just be the Grand Mage himself and not a Grand Mage\'s disciple or descendant."
"Yeah, sigh. We are just mere 6th-Circle Mages. We can\'t relate to the mindset of a Grand Mage. Who knows? If a Grand Mage is that bored, they might really become a coachman."
When the elven city guards thought of that, they all sighed. They knew that their weakness had limited their minds.
However, they still knew their place so they were well aware they shouldn\'t overstep their boundaries. Even if the coachman was indeed just a normal coachman, the fact that a coachman could even hold an unused Grand Mage token was already worthy of their kneeling.
After all, even they couldn\'t hold an unused Grand Mage token. At most, they only managed to inspect a used Grand Mage token.
But even after knowing that a coachman was beneath them, they didn\'t mind. They still remembered that the coachman was stronger than them. Even the horse pulling the royal carriage was stronger than them.
In other words, they were so weak that they weren\'t even qualified to act like a horse to pull that royal carriage.
With their long lifespan, the elven city guards were well aware that they would witness incidents such as this one in the future so they used this incident as a preparation for the future.
While the elven city guards were improving their mental fortitude, Alister drove the royal carriage in the bustling city of Reoserin.
The bright sun illuminated the lively city as countless blonde elves walked on the paved road. Most of the elves were blonde while the least of them had different hair colors such as white or green.
Nevertheless, all of those elves were attracted when the royal carriage driven by Alister had passed by in the streets.
How could it not attract their attention?
The magic engraved on the royal carriage was too high-level that it fascinated them.
Furthermore, the sunlight reflected the luster of the rare jewels and precious metals that decorated the royal carriage.
Not to mention, the coachman and even the horse were more powerful than them!
When they saw such a horrifying line-up that even the Elf King would dare not offend, the elves in Reoserin City were gossiping amongst each other about which person was powerful enough to have such an expensive carriage, powerful horse, and unfathomable coachman.
On the other hand, Alister ignored all of the attention as he was already used to it.
"Is that a dessert shop? Elven specialty desserts, Zanna will like it."
