Chapter 164: Star, Level 50 (3)

Chapter 164: Star, Level 50 (3)

· Type: Title.

· Effect: Eon Hellfire. Disastrous Eon Wind. Path of Destruction.

Chang-Sun realized that he had unexpectedly increased his Class, putting him at the start of <Exuviaation> and <Transcendence>. And…

‘I reached level 50,’?Chang-Sun thought.

Having instantly gone past the level 40s range, the most difficult range to get out of, he was now also at the start of becoming a ranker. Killing the ‘Wind-Hating Daughter’, which he couldn’t have done with his current ability alone, made all of this possible.

[Your Subordinate has leveled up!]

[Your Subordinate has leveled up!]

[Your Subordinate has evolved!]

Countless messages about Chang-Sun’s subordinates also advancing showed up, followed by the message that he had been desperately waiting for.

[Your second class acquisition quest has begun.]

[The Scenario Quest(Fable Creation) has been created!]

[Fable Creation]

Type: Scenario. Second Class Acquisition.

Description: During a long journey, a hero will experience frustration and overcome obstacles. They will go through various trials and tribulations, splendidly becoming stronger in the process. This kind of transformation story touches the hearts of the many people watching the hero’s journey and naturally ends up being passed down from one person to another.

Such is the achievement that a hero must accomplish. As the hero continues to compile achievements of the same nature, a fable is created. This fable will keep people talking about your journey, ultimately making your <Name> known across planes and universes. As a result, you will be able to build a basic Faith.

Make great accomplishments and complete your own ‘fable.’ Engraving your fable across planes and universes will assist in granting you a gift suited for you.

Objectives:

1. Make four ‘Great Accomplishments.’

2. Your four Accomplishments have to have an exposition, rising action, climax, and resolution.

3. Complete your ‘Fable.’

Quest Reward: Second Class Acquisition.

Quest Failure Penalty: Permanent Level Freeze.

Paah!

Chang-Sun clenched his fists as he read the description of ‘Fable Creation,’ which popped up before him. ‘The <Fable>... I have to do it right this time.’

The moment Players opened up the system, they could make various kinds of ‘achievements.’ Depending on the level of their achievements, they were mostly classified into five grades—Mythical, Legendary, Narrative, Fabled, and Feat.

Only Celestials could make <Mythical> and <Legendary> achievements, and demigods were the ones who mostly accomplished <Narrative> achievements. Once a human had overcome their limits and reached the level of a superhuman, they would be able to make <Fabled> achievements.

The quest had instructed Chang-Sun to accomplish <Fabled> achievements, which meant he had to make strong impressions in people’s minds and complete a <Story>. To do so, he had to link up the multiple achievements he would make so the people could orally pass down the eyewitness account for generations. This was the beginning of the path toward building a basic Faith, and through this process, he was going to make his presence felt across planes and universes.

‘Hero’ was the term used to refer to beings who had started to create <Fables>, and ranker was basically just the modern term for heroes in old fables. Fortunately, Chang-Sun had already accomplished one of the four ‘great achievements’ that was going to comprise his <Fable>.

Ding, ding!

[You have partially fulfilled the objectives of the Scenario Quest (Fable Creation)!]

[You have made your first Great Accomplishment (Starlight Acquired).]

[You have completed the exposition of your <Fable>.]

[You have started the process of creating the rising action part of your <Fable>.]

[You have made your presence felt across the planes.]

[You have created a basic Faith.]

[The fact that you have not chosen a Guardian spreads throughout the <Heaven> again!]

[Your Fame has increased.]

[Acquired Merit.]

‘Well, they ought to be intrigued since I started to create my <Fable> even though I have the No Guardian status.’?Chang-Sun shrugged.

Paah―!

Chang-Sun quietly smiled as he felt his soul grow bigger. He had already thought of the other three achievements that he was going to accomplish to complete his <Fable>.

‘Getting Laevateinn should be enough to be my second accomplishment,’?Chang-Sun concluded.

Chang-Sun could tell with certainty that nobody out there would have a <Fable> that included the Accomplishments of getting a <Starlight> and acquiring Laevateinn.

[The Dungeon is closing.]

‘Wind Hell’ shook hard since Chang-Sun had completed the Dungeon Quest, so he finished preparing to go back to the real world. Now that he had acquired the [Fifth Cryptical Book of Hsan], the time had come to get Laevateinn.

‘I acquired Eon Wind, so I should now be able to conquer the Changgwi Cave at a much faster rate,’ Chang-Sun thought.

[The Dungeon is now completely closed.]

[Great work, everyone.]

The Dungeon had closed.

[You have boarded the desert train ‘ANG’!]

“… I feel like I’m going to die.” Baek Gyeo-Ul heaved a sigh of relief, barely managing to get onto the desert train’s last compartment.

Even though the train was moving slowly since it had just departed, it was still a train. Gyeo-Ul was also quite far away from it, so he had to use up most of his mana just to catch up with it. If he was even just a minute later, he would have missed it right before his eyes. Hence, he couldn’t help but worry if Chang-Sun would be able to board it.

‘I’m not sure if Chang-Sun hyung will be okay.’ Gyeo-Ul narrowed his eyes. He was aware that Chang-Sun was going after something in the ‘Wuthering Stone Desert.’

However, the desert train had already left the station, so Gyeo-Ul could only pray that Chang-Sun could board the train, just as he had said. While worrying about Chang-Sun, Gyeo-Ul heard Mireille Aliano panicking.

“What in the world…!” Mireille said as Gyeo-Ul turned his head toward her.

Mireille had thought this day was going to be one of her usual days, but it didn’t take less than an hour for her life to turn upside down. The Crna Ruka suddenly kidnapped her, Chang-Sun showed up, and her ring got taken away.

Her Guardian, who was also her summon, had been her mother, friend, and colleague for the past two years, so no longer being with her Guardian scared Mireille. She only handed her ring to Chang-Sun because she assumed she would’ve died immediately if she didn’t listen to him.

Belatedly realizing she shouldn’t have handed over the ring, Mireille tried to retrieve it, but she and Gyeo-Ul were already quite a distance away from Chang-Sun by then. Mireille shivered, unable to stop herself from regretting, worrying, and feeling nervous about letting Chang-Sun take away from her someone she held dear. However, there was one thing that scared Mireille more.

‘I can’t sense her…!’?she anxiously thought.

Since a moment ago, she could no longer feel the link between her and her Guardian even though she checked her Channeling several times.

[The connection has been terminated.]

[The connection has been terminated.]

[Unable to identify the cause.]

The ‘Wind-Hating Daughter’ had disappeared as if she had died.

‘My Guardian…!’?Mireille held her hands together and desperately prayed for her Guardian’s safety.

Looking at the pale Mireille, Gyeo-Ul was about to ask if she was okay, but the door that led to the next compartment suddenly opened up.

“Mireille!”

Mireille and Gyeo-Ul simultaneously turned their heads, finding Henri, the French volunteer Players, and the Team L members standing by the door. The Team L members waited for Chang-Sun and Gyeo-Ul to return until the last minute before the desert train departed, but they didn’t, leaving them no other choice but to board the train. Hence, as soon as they sensed Gyeo-Ul’s presence, they hurriedly ran to the last compartment.

However, when Henri reached it, his eyes blazed up with anger. From his perspective, it looked like Gyeo-Ul was intimidating his fiance.

“What have you done to Mireille, you bastard?!” Henri strode forth and grabbed Gyeo-Ul by the collar. However, Gyeo-Ul was unusually large for an Asian, so Henri just ended up appearing as if he was looking up at Gyeo-Ul. Henri didn’t care, though. He just wanted to attack Gyeo-Ul as soon as possible, which made the latter frown.

Although Gyeo-Ul couldn’t speak French, Henri looked at him with deep hostility, so he immediately understood what Henri was trying to say. He didn’t go through all those predicaments to rescue Mireille just for Henri to grab him by the collar instead of thanking him. Hence, for a very short moment, Gyeo-Ul wondered if he should beat up Henri.

Gyeo-Ul acted like a golden retriever only in front of Chang-Sun. The tenacity and spite that he had built up inside him ever since he was a child hadn’t disappeared even though he didn’t hastily instigate a fight. He was just worried he would disrupt Chang-Sun’s plans if he got on bad terms with the French volunteer Players.

“Answer me, you singe!”

Gyeo-Ul could no longer sit on his hands when he heard the word singe. He heard that word during the confrontation between Chang-Sun and the French rookie Players, so he looked up the definition after the party ended. Now, Henri used it again.

[Your shadow is boiling up!]

Pzzz!

Gyeo-Ul and Henri’s auras collided, creating sparks in the air.

“Those crazy bastards…!”

“It’s like no good deed goes unpunished! What is up with all these people? Why aren’t they stopping the fight?!”

“Gyeo-Ul oppa!”

A fight could really break out at this rate if no one stopped Gyeo-Ul and Henri, so the Team L members shoved away the French Players and hurriedly tried to enter the compartment.

“… Who is this loser?” Eun-Seo frowned when she encountered Nicolas Fouquet, who stood in their way and stopped them. He was babbling something in French, but judging from the smirk on his face, it didn’t seem like he was planning to get out of their way.

“Do you want to die?” Eun-Seo concisely threatened in English, glaring at the tall Nicolas.

[The Celestial ‘A Good Season to Hunt’ glares at him as well.]

Nicolas’ eyes were also burning up with the desire to fight, thinking this was his chance to get payback for Chang-Sun overpowering the French rookie Players at the welcoming party. Although Nicolas wasn’t sure why, the White Tiger Clan Players just stood back, looking as if they had no intention to interfere in this fight.

‘I can’t see Jaegal Hyeon-Ryong, and the other two White Tiger Clan elders don’t even seem interested,’?Nicolas thought.

The French Players were also all in bad moods already due to the Crna Ruka assassins’ sudden terror attacks, turning them into ticking time bombs. He wouldn’t get a chance as perfect as this to hold the Team L members accountable for threatening him.

‘Was his name Baek Gyeo-Ul? It looks like it’ll be better to sort things out after Henri takes that guy out. It won’t be good if this fight gets out of hand, after all,’?Nicolas concluded.

“Nicolas, I’ll advise you to stop there,” Joachim Wolff coldly said just as Nicolas was about to say something to Eun-Seo. Joachim abruptly showed up behind Nicolas, making his expression crumple up. Since things would get complicated if the Blue Wolf stepped in, Nicolas now planned to snap at Joachim first and tell him to stay out of this since he was an outsider.

Click!

At that moment, the tightly shut rear door of the last compartment opened up.

“What is this?”

Chang-Sun had entered, and his Inferno Sights were already reflecting Henri and Nicolas.

1. It’s French for monkey. The French word has been left for the next sentence.
