Chapter 62 - 86: Extra in a Show
This figure, from her posture to actions, is absolutely spot on! She is even more enigmatic than the main actor, causing the director to take note of her name.
Gu Chuyan slightly turns her head, her profile facing the camera. The cold wind disrupts her hair and white robe. She closes her eyes and leans forward, her body gently falling like a leaf in the wind.
“OK.” The director was surprised by her fearlessness as she just turned around and jumped. After reviewing it once more, he said contentedly: “Next scene.”
There were many people on site and no one noticed Gu Chuyan’s condition. Everyone had shifted to the battlefield.
As Gu Chuyan jumped off, her body was held up by the wind, slowly falling down. Though the altitude wasn’t that high, it felt like she had been falling for a really long time.
“Thud.” She landed heavily on the ground. The pain forced her eyes open.
The surroundings were pitch dark, no longer the fairy tale mountainside from before. The darkness was hazy. She heard the sound of flowing water and felt a chilly wind blow past.
She saw something white not too far away. She climbed up, wanting to get a closer look.
“Snap.” She felt a painful sensation on her buttocks, as if something had kicked her, sending her flying! Gu Chuyan, frightened, started to shiver.
“Snap.” She fell heavily once again, her arm scraping against weeds.
At this moment, someone ran towards her. On seeing her, he sighed with relief and said: “Chuyan, quickly prepare for the second time, everyone is waiting for you.”
Due to Gu Chuyan’s delay, the director was very pleased with her silhouette. As a result, he quickly asked her to prepare for the second scene quickly.
“Okay.” Gu Chuyan sat dazedly on the ground, feeling as if she had just awoken from a dream! Did she hallucinate out of fear from leaping down from that height?
Thinking it over, she shook her head, stood up and prepared to leave.
“Coo coo coo.” At this moment, something grabbed hold of the hem of her skirt. Looking down, she saw a fluffy little creature clenching onto her skirt.
She crouched down and carefully disentangled the creature’s claws from her skirt, then gently felt the top of its head: “Where did you come from, little “Coo coo coo.” The creature lifted its head, rubbing itself against her.
Gu Chuyan cradled its face, looked at it, and to her surprise, said: “A baby fox?”
The baby fox laid on the ground, looking at her pitifully! Apparently, it had just been born. Its weak and fluffy body was incredibly adorable.
“Hurry back, don’t let people see you!” she whispered, picking it up and placing it inside the grassy bushes nearby. She stood up and began to jog forward, ready to get back to work for the substitute performance.
She did not notice, that the little creature had been watching her, slowly inching forward, and leisurely following behind her…
The director saw her approaching and got up to teach her personally.
A stand-in’s work is always tough! They have to engage in actual combat. She was kicked and thrown to the ground a few times, she had to get up and try again!
For the third scene, she was hung mid-air in a fighting posture.
It wasn’t until 5 pm that filming ended! Gu Chuyan experienced the sensation of filming for the first time. Though she didn’t show her face, she found it quite interesting.
“Gu Chuyan, this is your pay.” The field producer came over, handed her an envelope. Gu Chuyan got up, holding her waist as she took the envelope. He looked at her, asking: “You didn’t hurt your waist, did you?”
“I’m fine!” she replied with a smile. She had fallen once, and it really hurt! But she felt very happy, as she only had to do it once, without any re-takes. Otherwise, she would have been exhausted..
