Picking up her phone to check the news, there were no negative articles about her!
“I shouldered that blame for you.” Xiao Mohan’s words came to mind. Could he really have such influence to clear her name?
As she pocketed her phone and prepared to leave, she noticed a slip of paper on the glass table in the lobby.
“Drive the car away.” The three powerful words seemed to issue a command that was hard to resist. An accompanying key was placed beside the note.
Throughout the city of S, rumors of the Li Family’s bankruptcy circulated.
Gu Chuyan, wrestling with her inner conflict, drove a Ferrari towards the Gu Mansion.
She parked the car some distance from the house and entered through the back door without noticing a pair of eyes fixated on her from a second-floor window.
“Miss, you’re back?” Upon seeing her, Butler Afu, who was busy with his duties, hurriedly greeted her.
“Yes, is Miaoting here?” Chuyan replied as she headed towards the stairs.
She had come home to confront Miaoting. Chuyan had been absent when the “bad” deed was done last night. Looking at the current situation, it seemed that everyone in the Gu Family might already be aware of what she had done.
Miaoting had committed such actions before, but this was the first time it was ruthless and without any hope of repair.
“She just stepped out.” Afu informed.
As he watched her ascend the stairs, Afu felt a pang of sympathy. He had watched Chuyan grow up and knew she was a good child, but he felt she was increasingly drifting away from home.
“She’s not here?” Chuyan paused halfway up the stairs at his words.
But she didn’t think too much of it and continued to her room.
Just minutes ago, Miaoting had been standing upstairs, sipping her coffee, in high spirits. She wasn’t expecting Chuyan’s return.
“Why is she back?” Miaoting wondered. As she received a text message, she put her coffee down, grabbed her purse, and made her exit.
Chuyan arrived just as she had left!
She drove to the nearest KTV, where two men with bleached hair were waiting. Upon seeing her, they swaggered towards her, toothpicks in their mouths.
“Young Master Chen is waiting for you in the private room on the sixth floor.”
Hearing this, Miaoting strides off arrogantly, her head held high like a peacock in full display.
In the chilling winter, she wore a low-cut sweater with a coat over it and long boots. Her tall figure complemented the outfit, oozing absolute style.
“Understood.” Replying, she heads towards the elevator.
On the sixth floor, in front of a certain private room, Miaoting opened the door only to be greeted with a strong smell of liquor and cigarettes.
“Ah.” No sooner had she stepped inside than she was pulled violently and thrown onto the sofa. Before Miaoting could react, a figure loomed over her, leaving her staring at the man in front of her in shock.
“Young Master Chen, Young Master Chen! You do know I’m from the Gu Family. If you lay a finger on me, there’ll be someone who won’t let you off!” Miaoting struggled.
“Slap.” The very same Young Master Chen she was pleading to mercilessly slapped her, leaving her cheek swollen.
“Ah.” Miaoting barely had time to react.
As she lay on the floor, she watched him advance menacingly, his gaze fixed on her, a malicious smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
It wasn’t until an hour later that Chen finally stood up.
“Tsk, for someone who seems so wild, who would have thought that this was your first time?” He lit a cigarette with a lighter, taking a deep drag.
Miaoting lay on the couch, lifeless. She couldn’t believe that she, a Gu Family heiress, was violated in this manner.
The more she thought about it, the less she could bear it, wishing…
