Mo Huaifeng got changed and finished washing up in two minutes, after casually tidying his hair he then said lightly to Ji Zhiyao who was leaning on the door frame waiting for him, “Done, let’s go.”
“No, wait, Captain you’re ready?”
“If not?”
“I haven’t gotten ready yet.”
Hearing that, Mo Huaifeng’s eyes examined Ji Zhiyao’s cotton pajamas from top to bottom, his expression seeming a little helpless. “Then why did you call me so urgently?”
“... I thought you would take a long time with your morning temper.”
Mo Huaifeng was even more resigned, reaching out, he pushed Ji Zhiyao’s shoulder, the warm touch made him could not help but pull back his fingers for a bit. After a good while, his eyes dropped, the corner of his lips lifted into very light smile as he said, “Quickly go get ready, I’ll wait for you downstairs.”
This was Ji Zhiyao’s first time shopping with a friend.
He was a boy after all, the number of times he shopped for clothes by himself was little. Not to mention Ji Zhiyao was the type who preferred to avoid trouble. According to what he observed, Mo Huaifeng was also not the type to like shopping. Yet everyone else at the base had already left, leaving them two stay-at-home children to watch the house. He didn’t have any other choice.
Mo Huaifeng drove, heading right for Silver Throne, both of them began shopping from the first level, casually turning into a store.
The salesperson had never seen two big boys who looked so attractive come shopping for clothes together and stared right at them, only when Ji Zhiyao reached and started flipping through the rack of clothes before she remembered her own job. “Hello, may I know if there is anything I can help you with?”
It couldn’t be better to have someone helping him, Ji Zhiyao nodded at her. “Please help me to find a set of clothes, something slightly more formal.”
Mo Huaifeng who fell behind by half a step laughed lightly. “Formal?”
Ji Zhiyao turned back to look at him, asking confusedly, “Shouldn’t I dress more formally to meet my idol?”
“You just need to look more handsome.”
He seemed to make sense, anyway it wasn’t some formal occasion. Ji Zhiyao turned back again, saying to the salesperson, “Please help me to find a set of clothes that are more good looking.”
The salesperson quickly swept past the both of them with a slightly weird look, then sized up Ji Zhiyao from top to bottom, saying, “Please hold on.”
It did not take long before she returned carrying a set of clothes.
Ji Zhiyao took the clothes into the fitting room and walked out after changing in a while. It happened that facing him was Mo Huaifeng who was seated on the sofa playing with his phone, hence he asked, “Captain, do I look good?”
Mo Huaifeng lifted his head, his pupils darkening. “Mm.”
Good looking, so good looking that he wanted to hide him away.
Ji Zhiyao then turned towards the mirror. Black and white checkers with a pure white fake collared sweater, slightly tight long black pants, the sizes were just nice, perfectly showing off his broad shoulders, narrow waist and long legs. The more Ji Zhiyao looked, the more satisfied he was and gave his card directly to the salesperson. “I’ll take these.”
The salesperson took his card to bill it, Ji Zhiyao entered the waiting room and changed out.
When he came out and took the card from the salesperson, Ji Zhiyao looked at Mo Huaifeng, suddenly blurting out with an astute mind, “Captain, let me buy you a set that’s the same as mine.”
Mo Huaifeng frowned slightly, yet before he could open his mouth and say something, Ji Zhiyao had swiftly instructed the salesperson in a low voice, “Please get me a set of the same, in his size. Thank you.”
When the salesperson left, Ji Zhiyao turned grinningly to Mo Huaifeng. “Captain, you’ll definitely be even more good looking than me in this.”
Mo Huaifeng heard his own feigned calm but actually rugged voice. “Why did you buy me clothes?” And it was even the same set...
Now that he had that idea, he could not help but overthink.
Ji Zhiyao was surprised. “Huh? I can’t let Captain you make a wasted trip... I feel that this set of clothes is quite comfortable, do you not like it?”
He didn’t know if it was a false sense, but Ji Zhiyao consistently felt that when his Captain said the two words “I do”, his voice became much more indifferent.
The salesperson was very efficient, both of them had just shared two lines of conversation and she’d already returned with the new clothes. Just that Mo Huaifeng didn’t want to try them on, indifferently giving a glance at the set of clothes in the salesperson’s hands, he said, “They should fit, just bag them up.”
Ji Zhiyao saw that he had on a languid expression, appearing like he didn’t want to try on the clothes no matter what, hence he directly instructed the salesperson to bag the clothes while passing her his card for the second time. When they were done with payment, both of them walked out, Ji Zhiyao spoke up and stopped Mo Huaifeng.
“Captain are you in a bad mood?” His smiling eyes curved slightly, as if he had thought of a terrific idea. “Come on, I’ll take you to the arcade.”
...
Standing under the signboard with all sorts of colors, listening to the overly loud pop music, Mo Huaifeng couldn’t help but lift his hand and press on the vein that was vaguely throbbing in his temples.
Whereas Ji Zhiyao who was currently exchanging tokens appeared to be especially excited, he said a few words to the salesperson, then pulled out two one-hundred notes from his wallet.
Very soon the machine by the side dropped a whole basket of tokens, Ji Zhiyao walked over carrying the basket of tokens, in very high spirits.
“Captain, what shall we play first?”
His voice was too soft and was very quickly drowned out in the noisy background music. Mo Huaifeng involuntarily frowned, lowering his head and leaning over. “What did you say? Be louder.”
Ji Zhiyao found that quite fun, and copied Mo Huaifeng, only he was short and could only tip-toe, leaning towards Mo Huaifeng ear and shouting, “I-asked-what-do-you-want-to-play—”
His ears hurt from his noise, Mo Huaifeng straightened up and replied with a blank expression, “I’m fine with anything.” Such childish things, he didn’t like them at all.
Hence Ji Zhiyao’s eyes brightened up, dragging him all over the place, at last dropping on his butt before the Whac-A-Mole game, gesturing to Mo Huaifeng. “Captain, come play this, it’s super cute.”
Mo Huaifeng hearing the childish music in his ears and seeing the rows of mole cartoon stickers on the game machine, he thought to himself that Ji Zhiyao was the f*cking real cute one.
Playing the Whac-A-Mole relies on hand speed and good eye coordination, to the professional players like them, it happened to be routine work. Thus Ji Zhiyao played skillfully, having much fun.
But very quickly, the machine turned to having a few buttons lighting up together, he hectically pressed a few times and dejectedly realized that he didn’t have enough fingers. Just then the next round began, Ji Zhiyao had thought that he was bound to lose, but unexpectedly, an arm appeared from above his shoulder and helped him to press another button that he wasn’t able to catch.
Ji Zhiyao froze there and the machine began with the next round, his fingers weren’t ready to switch and he got everything wrong.
The game ended, the electronic screen displayed Ji Zhiyao’s results, his speed and frequency of hits both created a new record for the machine.
Ji Zhiyao seeing the results, smacked his mouth in regret. “Captain, you already reached out to help me, why did not let me win two more levels to get a whole number.”
He did remember to shout out these words loudly.
Mo Huaifeng could not hold back and laughed softly. “Cutting corners.”
