Chapter 69: Take A Picture, Itll Last Longer
With one leg crossed over the other, an arm slung on the couch, and the other resting on his thigh, it was hard to deny his charisma. The couch was wide, yet his presence occupied the entire couch. Added with the morning light from the gleaming windows, he seemed to glow like a magnificent Emperor seated upon his throne.
Did he have to look so clean-cut and suave? No one would even think that he’s the ruthless king of the underworld. She hated how he seemed so photogenic from every angle without even trying. Anything and everything he did made him look incredibly graceful. The Yang genes truly held wonders.
"Haha, very funny." He dryly replied, nearly rolling his eyes at how she was behaving. He knew she was clearly attempting to stall for time.
"Thank you, I find myself very funny as well." She snorted, replying to his mocking remark with one of her own.
The edge of his lips twitched in amusement. She just wouldn’t back down from a fight, would she? Her stubbornness had no limits. She knew of the fact that he could easily pummel a woman like her. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to ruin her.
The idea of harming something so delightful and refreshingly different scared him, but what scared him even more, was his realization that he was surprisingly very attached to this small woman.
The attachment he had felt towards her had gone beyond his initial curiosity. Now, he had found himself constantly yearning for her presence and acknowledgment.
While it was terrifying to feel this way, he accepted the emotions that were running through him wholeheartedly. If there was any woman who was worthy of his feelings, it was this stubborn woman in front of him. Yet, the woman in question didn’t seem to realize her feelings for him.
He stared at her and wondered where she even got her haughty confidence from. It was impressive how well she hid her overbearing attitude. And yet it seems that she always failed in hiding it from him though and for some odd reason, he liked it. This was a side she would only show to him...
Staring at her current stance was like looking at a tigress baring its fangs and raising its front paws to strike. Regardless if the person in front of her was a dragon, she would still unhesitatingly strike. That was how daringly bold she is.
In the past, he would never tolerate disrespect in spite of whoever it came from. Regardless of her influential background, getting rid of someone like her was very easy. If Yang Feng decided to set his thirst for blood into action, no one could stop him. Not even the Head of the Yang family, his grandfather, could do so.
But when it came to her, every part of him screamed to never hurt her. Instead, all he wanted to do was treasure her as if every inch of her was worth billions. Such a brilliant and precious woman such as herself should be handled with care — something that has never happened to her before.
She noticed how long he was looking at her for. "Take a picture, it’ll last longer." She repeated the same words he had once thrown her in the hospital room.
At her words, Yang Feng couldn’t restrain his half-smile anymore. Every time he thought he had her figured out, she would always throw in something new to amuse him.
"Well then, if you don’t mind me, I will." Within the blink of an eye, he had taken out his phone and took a picture.
Zhao Lifei’s smirk slipped as she gasped, running to him in an attempt to take his phone, but it was too late as he had already placed it back into his pocket.
"You can’t do that-"
"Well, you already gave me permission, so I definitely can." Yang Feng chuckled at her hands which reached for his pocket while he easily blocked off her attempts.
"You, you-"
"Incredibly handsome man." He finished the sentence for her, his eyes glimmering with amusement.
Did she not realize the intimacy of their position? She had one knee on the couch and with how stubbornly she was reaching for him, she had forgotten about her loose top and her cleavage was slightly revealed. He had felt his body heat up at the sight and he had to control the urge to yank her down while she was defenseless and wrap his arms around her.
"Handsome? Oh please, I’ve seen a dog that looked better than you!" She snorted, blatantly spitting out lies despite the fact that every fiber in her body thought he was gorgeous beyond words.
Instead of getting offended at the simple insult, Yang Feng chuckled and decided to play rough with her. She gasped when he suddenly reached out to pull the hand she had been using with her attempt to get his phone. He did it with enough force and fluidity that she easily toppled over. The other leg gave in, and her other knee fell onto the couch that she ended up straddling him.
