Chapter 383 - Bai Jun Warns Yang Peng

Chapter 383 - Bai Jun Warns Yang Peng

Quickly, Monday came and everyone was back to their various business. To Jia Li, it was a very long morning as the little bun clung to her and refused to part with her no matter what since she woke up.

Jia Li felt an incoming headache while staring at the little bun that wouldn\'t let her eat in peace. Since Jasmine saw that her mother was all dressed up, she knew she was leaving the house and refused to let go of her.

When Fu Hua tried to hold her, she refused and wanted only her mother to hold her.

"Jasmine, did you see me in your dreams last night?" Jia Li asked with a tired gaze on the little bun.

"If she wasn\'t too young, I would suggest we send her to the Fu house." Fu Hua said with his gaze on the stubborn little bun.

"She is 6 months old and yes, she is still a baby. Sometimes I can\'t scold her because I feel bad for having to leave her and go to work every day." Jia Li said in a soft tone as she kissed Jasmine\'s hair.

"It\'s not your fault, that\'s the situation we found ourselves in and we have to adjust to it." Fu Hua said from the side.

Jia Li tried to breastfeed the little one to see if she would fall asleep but her plans failed. Jasmine refused to be decided today.

"I have so many meetings today, otherwise, I wouldn\'t mind taking her to work." Fu Hua said while caressing Jasmine\'s hair that was packed in 2 buns.

"Are you planning to show her off at work?" Jia Li asked.

"Not necessarily. I can take her into my office and no one will notice but I have so much works to do and won\'t have time to look after her." Fu Hua said with a sigh.

"There is no need to bother yourself. I still have an hour to be at work, I will make her sleep. If she doesn\'t, I will just have to cover my ears and run away, so I wouldn\'t feel bad when she starts to cry." Jia Li said with a smile.

Jia Li didn\'t blame her daughter for being fussy and clinging most of the time because she was still too young to be left alone for several hours without her parents by her side, so she felt guilty most of the time.

Luck seemed to be by Jia Li\'s side today because when she was almost about to give up, Jasmine fell asleep while sucking.

Fu Hua smiled when he saw his wife sigh in relief as he knew what her prayer has been.

After laying Jasmine gently in her cot in the living room, Jia Li picked up her handbag and tiptoed away much to Fu Hua\'s amusement.

Jia Li got to work before Fu Hua and was in time to settle down before working hours started. Today, Bai Jun was not herself and ended up getting scolded by her supervisor for making some mistakes with the tasks he assigned to her.

After breaks, Sunny made Jia Li her assistant to help her reach out to the other 5 students in her team and to help her with some tasks.

As Saturday was fast approaching, news of Bai Jun\'s engagement to Yang Pen sprayed in her circle. Those that were still on good terms with Bai Jun called to ask her about it but she ended up not taking their calls after she replied to one of them.

FangSu was naturally happy when she heard the rumors and she couldn\'t wait to make fun of Bai Jun.

Since the engagement was a family thing, no friends were invited, so on Saturday afternoon, the Bai family and the Yang family met in a private room reserved for that occasion.

After Yang Peng slipped the engagement ring into her finger, it was time to make a toast but Bai Jun wasn\'t in the mood. One glare from her father was all it took for her to come back to her senses.

Bai Jun and her mother have been obedient since their family lost the bid they needed so dearly to help with their business. Any misbehavior from them was enough for a death wish to be sent to them, so they have both been computing themselves.

After the engagement party ended, Yang Peng called Bai Jun out to see her privately.

"Why did you call me out?" Bai Jun asked with a frown as she approached him.

Yang Peng smiled and said to her, "My instinct tells me that you hate me and I don\'t know what I must have done wrong to anger you."

Bai Jun sneered and said straight to his face, "I will tell you so you won\'t have to think too much about this meaningless union. I don\'t like you one bit and I will never like you because my heart is set on someone else."

The smile on Yang Pei\'s face vanished as he said, "Since you said that you will never like me and that your heart is set on someone else, what is the point in going on with the marriage? I will call off the wedding right away."

"Don\'t you dare!" Bai Jun said to him with a glare. If he called off the wedding because of what she said, wasn\'t that going to make her land in big trouble?

"Why can\'t I dare? Your grandmother told me on our first meeting that I can lay out any complaints I have, so do you think that you have the right to command me?" Yang Peng asked with a frown. He was starting to like Bai Jun because she was beautiful and looked well-mannered even though she didn\'t seem to be interested in their marriage. But with her saying that she will never like him and with her disrespectful tone, he decided not to be polite with her.

"Are you threatening me?" Bai Jun asked in anger. She was angry with Yang Peng mentioning her grandmother and reminding her about her words.. She felt that he had no right to threaten her since her family was in a better position than his, so she looked down on him.
