Chapter 96 - I Promise To Treat Her Well
Chapter 96 - I Promise To Treat Her Well
Jia Li was still in a daze when Fu Hua walked out of the library. She couldn\'t believe what she just heard.
\'Fu Hua agreed to the marriage?\'
\'What could make him agree to the marriage, did grandfather pressure him?\'
Jia Li had a series of unanswered questions, but she didn\'t have anyone to answer them. She sighed to herself before leaving the library.
After breakfast, Fu Hua told Grandfather that he had something important to talk with him about.
Fu Hee sat up immediately as she glanced at her Fu Hua. She was thinking if it was about negotiating with the old man to cancel the marriage.
It was that she would be very happy.
Jia Li glanced at Fu Hua before bowing her head. She knew what he wanted to talk about because he had already told her beforehand.
Grandfather Fu glanced at Fu Hua without saying anything. He too had his thoughts. He was thinking if Fu Hua asked him to cancel the marriage between him and Jia Li, he would really teach him a great lesson.
When Grandfather Fu left the dining table, Fu Hua followed him.
"Brother, I will leave before you then." Fu YingPei said.
"Mmm go ahead." Fu Hua said before turning away.
Seeing that grandfather was gone, Jia Li stood up to leave, but Fu ChunHua called out to her.
"Jia Li, how is your face now, is it still painful? I can see it\'s still a bit red and a little swollen." Fu ChunHua asked.
Jia Li caressed her left cheek before replying. "Aunty, I\'m fine now."
Fu Hee snorted when Jia Li left.
"Aiyah! poor child! If I was her mother who is already in heaven, I would not spare anybody that bullies my innocent daughter."
Fu ChunHua said with a sigh as she got up to leave. Fu Meixu followed her as well.
"Fu ChunHua! Were you referring to me just now?!" Fu Hee asked with an ugly facial expression.
"Did I call anybody\'s name? No, I didn\'t. But the guilty would always retaliate." Fu ChunHua said with a smile.
Fu Meixu left her mother and walked away. She has an outdoor shoot this morning, so she had no time to bicker with them.
"Fu ChunHua, who do you think you are to talk to me that way?!" Fu Hee asked angrily.
"As the Mistress of the Fu Family, I have every right to caution the evildoers." Fu ChunHua said with a taunting smile.
Fu YingPei glanced at the two women and walked away. He was not ready to stop any of them from quarreling. He was already tired of seeing them bicker every day.
"What mistress of the Fu Family you old bitch!" Fu Hee said through gritted teeth.
If it was before, Fu ChunHua would get angry because Fu Hee addressed her as an old woman. But this time around, she laughed over it.
"At least, I am the Mistress of the Fu Family. Ah! Don\'t you think it should remain this way? The oldest should hold the title, that should be the proper way!"
After saying that, Fu ChunHua chuckled and walked away, leaving the fuming Fu Hee behind.
Fu Hee picked up a teacup from the dining table to break, but she remembered the rules and kept it back in anger.
"What a nuisance!" She said before walking away.
The servants that were hiding from her, came out of the shell. They didn\'t know what was wrong with their former Mistress, and the reason she has a change of character.
To them, it was as if she swapped roles with their current Mistress, Fu ChunHua.
The servants immediately cleaned up the dining area and went to do their next chores.
"I agree to marry Jia Li, but under three conditions. The news of our marriage will be hidden. There will be no wedding, only signing our marriage certificate, and she will not appear in any public functions with me. If you agree to them, I will immediately register my marriage with her."
After grandfather Fu heard Fu Hua\'s conditions to get married to Jia Li, his brows were furrowed, and he was not okay with it at all.
"You want to hide her from the public, is she your Mistress?" Grandfather Fu asked.
"Grandfather, those are my conditions. As for other things, I will take care of them. I already promised to take good care of Jia Li, and I will not short-change her in other ways." Fu Hua said, staying rooted in his decision.
"How can you treat that poor girl like that? That will be unfair to her! When I asked you two to get married, I didn\'t mean for you to treat her this way. You\'re not even thinking of giving her a proper wedding!" Grandfather Fu said in an angry tone.
"That\'s all I can give her now. I promise to treat her well, but as for the perfect wedding, I can\'t give it to her." Fu Hua still insisted.
Grandfather Fu waved his hand, asking him to leave.? And after he left, Grandfather Fu began to ponder over the matter.
Butler Lu who was standing at the side chipped in a few words.
"Master, I think you need to approve of their wedding now, this is already the best the young master can offer at the moment. I\'m sure when he falls in love with Miss Qin, he would change his mind. But for now, we have to grasp this opportunity and get them married before he had a change of heart."
"You also think I should approve his conditions?" Grandfather Fu asked with his gaze on him.
"Yes, Master! We don\'t know what came over the young master for him to suddenly agree to the marriage, you have to take this opportunity and get them married before he changes his mind." Butler Lu said.
Grandfather Fu sighed and said, "I have wronged Jia Li. But as long as Fu Hua keeps his word and takes good care of her, I won\'t interfere in their relationship."
So, with this conclusion, Jia Li and Fu Hua\'s fate were sealed.
Grandfather Fu called Jia Li to speak with her, and he found out that Fu Hua had already told her about his conditions.
He knew Jia Li will not mention her grievances if she had one, and that was true. Jia Li was already happy there wouldn\'t have to be a falling out between Grandfather Fu and Fu Hua.
Grandfather Fu was a little at ease seeing that Jia Li didn\'t bear a grudge against him.
When Fu Hua came back from work, he spoke more in detail with Grandfather Fu, and an announcement about his marriage with Jia Li was made during dinner, and a date for the collection of their marriage certificate was fixed.
Fu Hee couldn\'t sit tight. She was so angry. She didn\'t believe her son would agree to this, but when she saw the neutral look on his face, she knew he had agreed to it.
Fu Hee was tempted to voice her thoughts, but what Grandfather Fu said next, immediately shut her up.
"If there is anyone that doesn\'t agree to this, just continue to keep your thoughts to yourself if you don\'t want to be punished."
Once they left the dining room, Fu Hee followed Fu Hua. Fu Hua got annoyed with her following him, so he stopped in his steps and turned to ask...
"Why are you following me?"
"Fu Hua, did you accept to marry that girl?" Fu Hee asked.
"Does it look like anyone can force me to do what I don\'t want?" Fu Hua asked.
"Since when did your taste reduce in quality? If you don\'t have time to find a woman, what am I here for? I can help you." Fu Hee said with creased brows.
"Mother, this is the last time I will be kind to you concerning matters about my private life. Please do not interfere with my life unless I ask you to."
After saying this, Fu Hua walked away.
Fu Hee was shocked at first, and then seconds later, she looked pretty annoyed.
Since the matter was settled, Fu Hua and Jia Li would get their marriage certificate on Friday.
Since it was three days to the time they would get their marriage certificate, Grandfather Fu asked Fu Hua to take Jia Li out and get to know her more.
Fu Hua found it a bit annoying because he had work to do during the weekend so he didn\'t have time for a date.
Before leaving for work on Friday, Fu Hua got Jia Li\'s phone number from Grandfather Fu, so he could call her later.
Fu Hua finished work on time and called Jia Li on phone. Jia Li didn\'t have his number, and so didn\'t know who was calling.
She has just finished her class for the day when the call came to her phone.
"Hello?" Jia Li answered the call.
"It\'s me, Fu Hua. Wait outside your school gate, I will be there in a few minutes."
When she heard the cold familiar male voice, Jia Li was surprised, but she responded to him immediately.
"Okay."
After the call ended, Jia Li wondered why he was coming to her school.
