Chapter 90 - Grandfather Fu Splashes Ink On Fu Hee For Disrespecting Him
So when Butler Lu came looking for her, that was when she went to look for Fu Hua.
Butler Lu saw Fu ChunHua in the living room and said to her...
"Second Madam, please I will have to trouble you with telling the first Madam she can come to meet master in the Study"
"Okay, I will let her know when she comes out." Fu ChunHua replied, and then Butler Lu walked away having been assured.
When Fu Hee came back to the living room, Fu ChunHua didn\'t immediately tell her she could see the old man now. She waited till 10 minutes were up before saying.
"Fu Hee, I almost forgot. 10 minutes ago when you went to find Fu Hua, Butler Lu came looking for you. He said Father will like to see you in his study."
"What? You let me sit here doing nothing till 10 minutes was over before you divided to tell me about it?." Fu Hee asked as she raged on.
"Tsk...tsk...tsk... Fu Hee, you really should watch your manner, you are not behaving like the Mistress of the house, what are you trying to teach your daughter-in-law?" Fu ChunHua asked.
"You...you...you dare to act all haughty around me?." Fu Hee asked angrily.
"Why are you angry, shouldn\'t you go to find out who your daughter-in-law is from Father?." Fu ChunHua said in a little reminder.
"Just wait till I come back, I will deal with you later." Fu Hee said before walking away in a huff.
"I don\'t think you will have the time to bicker with me once you find out the good news that has been waiting for you." Fu ChunHua said as she laughed out loud.
When Fu Hee walked into the old man\'s study, she greeted him and directly started speaking.
"Father what am I hearing about you finding a wife for Fu Hua, that must be a mistake right?."
Grandfather Fu glared at her and didn\'t say anything.
Fu Hee was not in the mood to care if we had offended the old man, as she was very curious about the whole arrangement.
"Father, you really have to say something to me."
"You walked into my study and started throwing questions all around, do you think you have that right? And how can you stand there and ask me questions, have you forgotten the rules?." Grandfather Fu asked.
Realizing her mistakes, Fu Hee apologized and went to sit in front of him.
Grandfather Fu glared at her for a few seconds before directly speaking up.
"I called you here to tell you that I had long arranged for a wife for Fu Hua since a year ago. And now, they should be married within a month."
"What? Father, you really did arrange a marriage partner for Fu Hua, ad that too since a year ago? How come you didn\'t tell us this important news soon?." Fu Hee asked in a bitter tone.
She felt so uncomfortable where she was sitting and her heart, felt a pang of pain, as she couldn\'t believe what she was hearing.
"Am I to tell you every one of my intentions step by step, and why are you so worried about it?." Grandfather Fu said as he looked over.
"Father, you don\'t know, but I have already arranged a suitable marriage partner for Fu Hua, and you know the family. She is the daughter of the Bai Family. I have been making so many arrangements with my friend Mrs. Bai for the last three months. And we already agreed the children will get engaged once her daughter comes home in a few months from now."
"Who gave you the right to make important decisions such as marriage in this family?! Grandfather Fu asked in a heavy tone.
Seeing that the Old man was angry, she stammered, "Fa... Father, I am Fu Hua\'s mother, at least I have the right to make a little contribution."
"What nonsense!!! Who told you that? Do you want to step on my head now?! Did you tell Fu Lei about this matter or did you go ahead to make this big decision on your own?." Grandfather asked.
"Father, I\'m sorry. You know Fu Lei has been busy and hardly comes home, so I thought I would do things on behalf." Fu Hee said.
"What nonsense! You are the mistress of this house, but you don\'t know the rules?! Should this old man teach you?." Grandfather Fu asked in a raised tone.
He was very angry that Fu Hee made such arrangements without telling anybody.
"No, I\'m sorry father, it won\'t happen again." Fu Hee replied in a hurry.
"Of course it won\'t happen again, do you dare?! I don\'t care about what you did. And since you made the whole arrangements and settled the matter yourself, go and explain things to the Bai Family." Grandfather Fu said to her as he waved her away.
"What... father, how can I do the explanation? The daughter of the Bai family ready knows about this, in fact, the entire Bai family knows about this, so how can I explain this matter to them?." Fu Hee asked in a solemn tone.
In fact, she was angry with the old man for keeping such a matter to himself, and now he wanted her to cancel the perfect marriage partner she arranged for Fu Hua.
"You and the entire Bai Family are senseless, more especially, the Bai Family! How could they know and accept this arrangement without us the Fu Family knowing about it? And when they saw you were the only one making such arrangements, they didn\'t bother to ask of our opinion, they must be blind!."
"Father..." Fu Hee called out desperately.
"Don\'t call me. You, go and fix your mess. If you know the way you started with the whole arrangement, start ending it from there. Clean up your mess, so next time, you will know your place in this family." Grandfather Fu said to her.
"Lu, come and grind the ink for me." Grandfather Fu said to Butler Lu who has been atoning at the side.
Grandfather Fu Has already brought out his calligraphy paper, and the ink was already on his desk. He only needed for the ink to be smooth before he could start writing.
Seeing the Old man was already ignoring her, Fu Hee could only swallow her grievances.
Grandfather Fu glanced over and saw Fu Hee still sitting there, and he said to her
, "Do you think you still have the time to be sitting here and idling about? You better go and settle things with the Bai family and come and bond with your daughter-in-law. Jia Li is an obedient child that I raised, so you don\'t have to worry about her not following the rules."
Fu Hee looked confused when the old man mentioned Jia Li in this matter, so she asked, "Father, what does Jia Li have to do with this matter?."
"You\'ve been sitting here for long and you didn\'t care to find out who your daughter-in-law is. Jia Li will be your daughter-in-law in a month. You have known her for such a long time, so you wouldn\'t find it troublesome to bond with her." Grandfather Fu said as he picked up his calligraphy brush as Butler Lu was done grinding the ink.
Fu Hee thought she had just heard the biggest Joke in the world. \'
Wait...wait...wait, the wife the old man arranged for my son is that girl?!\'
Fu Hee thought she was going crazy, and suddenly, something sparked in her head. She stood up immediately and said to Grandfather Fu in a furious tone.
"Father, what kind of joke is this? The woman you arranged for my distinguished son is that girl?! Father, as Fu Hua\'s mother, I refuse to accept it! My precious son can never get married to that ordinary girl, never!."
As Fu Hee screamed the last sentence, she felt something wet splash on her.
Grandfather Fu could not condone her nonsense any longer and splashed the ink on her face and dress.
"How dare you stand there and challenge my authority? You have really grown wings to think you can stand there and talk to me like that!." Grandfather Fu said as he pointed at her angrily.
The old man was very furious.
When Fu Hee discovered it was the black ink Butler Lu ground that was poured on her face, she shrieked.
"Ah!!!...."
"What are you screaming for? Even Fu Hua didn\'t dare to raise his tone on me even when he didn\'t agree to the marriage, but you don\'t know the rules. Now, you made me waste my quality ink on you, make sure you refund the money before dinner today, now get out of my study!!!." Grandfather Fu commanded.
"Father this is so unfair of you, how can you treat me this way?!." Fu Hee cried out.
"You still have the guts to talk back? Butler Lu, get me my cane, I haven\'t used it in a long time.
