Chapter 495 Battle Of Valeant - Defeating Nuktar (8)
Thanks to her distraction from the injuries, her Domain was not able to exert its full force and completely suppress the power of Laws that were imbued in the beam, thereby allowing it to retain most of its power before it pierced right through and tore a gouging hole through her torso.
"Don't count me out!" It was then that Hannah appeared, having been preparing for this moment for some time now. Ten bright points of light revolved around her, radiating terrible power and might. In the next moment, all ten points of light turned into bright beams that traveled as fast as light, tearing holes in Nuktar's body.
In the span of just a few seconds, the situation of Nuktar's battle had been flipped on its head and she was riddled with fatal injuries.
When she came back to her senses, she immediately tried to flee. Her body began to resembled an ice sculpture as she activated a teleportation technique, but Dyson and the others were prepared for this.
"Not so fast!" Dean activated his own technique that he had begun preparing as soon as he had launched his earlier attack on Nuktar.
The world around him suddenly seemed to fracture and break, like a mirror. The fractured world rapidly spread and soon engulfed Nuktar before exploding in a flurry of light and energy.
"Argh!!" Nuktar's scream rang out as a new wave of pain wracked her body. Injuries bloomed all over her body and she turned away, wanting to flee manually rather than teleport away.
"Did you think you could escape?!" Light flashed and Dyson appeared behind Nuktar's his fists ablaze with light and fire. A flurry of punches immediately rained down on Nuktar, but she was not instantly overwhelmed. As a God who had fought and lived for countless years, she had all sorts of things in store.
An ice armor covered her body, made from her Divine Power as she crossed her wounded arms to block the flurry of punches. As soon as it ended, she exploded with power and the space around her seemed to freeze entirely, including the space where Dyson was, which instantly froze him in place.
She did not try to exploit the opening to attack Dyson and instead chose to run away, but before she could run away, another Dyson that was different from the one frozen suddenly appeared in front of her, fists blazing, and delivered a sucker punch right on the side of her face.
How did he do it?
Well, as someone who studied the Law of Light, it was not too difficult to use light to mess with people's perception and create multiple clones. But instead of simply messing with perception, he had actually created clones which held fractions of his power.
Half a dozen clones appeared around Nuktar and instantly started launching attacks. Blows rained down on the Winter Goddess with such intensity that it only took a single second for her ice armor to shatter into pieces, allowing the blows to land directly on her body, burning up large areas of skin and crushing bones.
With a sickening sound, Dyson's fist punched through Nuktar's skull and he ripped out the brain matter that was there. It was a fatal injury to any God, but it was far from enough to kill them. However, that was still fine to Dyson.
He grabbed hold of Nuktar's body, wrapping his arms firmly around her, before erupting in flames and turning into a spinning missile that rapidly rushed to the ground.
BOOM!
A massive explosion of light and golden fire shook the nearby mountains and turned the sky red. The landscape of this area of the Primordial Plane had been permanently changed.
Dust and smoke settled, revealing Dyson standing over a body that was charred black. He held an ice blue crystal in his hand. The crystal was shaped like a heart. It was Nuktar's Divine Spark. He waved his hand and it disappeared. He would take it as a spoil of war.
"That was intense." Hannah's voice rang out as she hovered a short distance away, eyeing Nuktar's body.
"Indeed, it was." Dean appeared beside her, his expression as soft and immaculate as ever.
"That was an impressive technique, Dean. What was it?" Dyson turned toward Dean and asked curiously, causing Hannah to pout.
"My technique was also interesting!" She complained.
"Let us discuss this later, shall we? It would be best if we provided support for the others first, before we discuss this later." He smiled slightly and turned to where the other Minor Gods were fighting.
A distance from them, Leon's three strongest summons, Kaladin, Nero and Grokus, were fighting against another God. It was a strange being that was mostly made up of a gaseous substance. Its body was like a mist.
.
.
Kaladin's eyes glowed and his hands spun as he wove an intricate spell and waited for the perfect moment to strike. His mind was open and his perception was at its peak as he tried to pick for any signs of the enemy that he and his fellow summons were fighting. He was sure that the enemy was close by, as he had already sealed the surrounding space with a spell earlier.
The space behind him crackled with lightning as a being that was wreathed in gray mist appeared behind Kaladin, a dagger in hand, only to get snagged by a protective technique that Kaladin had set up around himself earlier.
In the next second, a giant skull appeared behind the mist wreathed being and glowed with bright green light. A myriad of debuffs and other restrictive spells were cast on the enemy God, further trapping him there.
Then with a flash of red light, Nero appeared, each of his hands holding onto a thin, long sword. His arms blurred and the mist that wrapped around the being was parted, revealing black skin that was covered in slashes of all lengths and sizes.
Swish!
In the next moment, another wave of slashes landed on the skin, tearing it apart and causing bright red blood to rain down from the sky.
