Chapter 394 The Five Cities

Chapter 394  The Five Cities

"He is right, Alvar. This matter seems to have blown up in your face. You had told us over and over that everything was in control. You had the rebels in the palm of your hands, but did you see that pillar of light? I reckon the rebels are ready to make their move at any moment!" An older Elf with long white hair and slight wrinkles on her face exclaimed, waving her hand in the direction of the pillar of light. Her name was Rita, and she was one of the older members of the council.

Alvar remained silent as several members of the council went ahead to berate him. Some others just remained silent and watched everything happen.

"Enough!"

Eventually, he had enough and flared his aura, causing silence to settle in the room. He looked around, meeting the eyes of each and every council member. He might be the youngest, but none of them could discount his ability.

"We are here today to discuss out course of action in the coming times, not argue about what should have been done. While we could have done some things better, we didn\'t and it is too late to lament about it. Now, we must plan for the future." Alvar said firmly, his voice deep and sure.

"You are right. We should think of how to deal with the rebels. They must not shake our foundation. Not even in the slightest bit!" An Elf with a smooth and young face that looked as if it was carved out of white marble said while tapping his knuckles against the tabletop. He radiated a charismatic aura that naturally caused people to look up to him for guidance. With his golden-brown hair, he looked like a hero out of a fantasy story!

"You are right, Elder Marvaine." Alvar nodded his head. "With that clear, let us begin on the first war council of this time."

Vera had a firm frown on her face as she perused the reports that were spread over her work table. Ever since the people had begun their transfer to Duskbloom and other larger hideouts, she had been very busy.

\'Darkhold has been breached and blown up... It seems we will need to push our plans forward even more.\' She hummed as she went over the last report that was tagged as the most important out of the stacks.

Things were progressing faster than she had anticipated, but luckily, everything was still within the limits of her expectations. Even now, she was considering pulling the lever and starting the war. Her people were ready, and striking now would cut short the planning time of her father.

"I need to visit father to allay his suspicions. He will also want me by his side as the war is about to start." Vera held her chin. She could leave a clone of herself here to manage matters and relay information while her true body will return to the palace to stay at her father\'s side.

"It seems the time to begin this war has reached." Vera stated firmly as she stood up from her seat. Her eyes turned distant as she imagined the near future where she could begin her dream of building an empire that would treat everyone fairly, whether or not they were of pure blood or not.

"Plans, plans. I need to make plans with Leon. With Mirabel\'s help, they should be able to hold down the fort before I contact them when the war starts." She began to make her plans on what to do. Her persona when in her father\'s presence was much different from that of when she was in the presence of her true friends.

Under the light that was produced by high quality crystals, Vera continued to work in her office, undisturbed.

"Relly, we\'re here!" Margaret stuck her head into the carriage that their group traveled in and shouted to wake up the slumbering man.

Slowly, Andrew woke up, his eyes opening blearily after the long hours of sleep. He rubbed the dryness in the corners of his eyes and sat up. A simple wave of his hand was enough to conjure up a ball of water that wiped his face clean and he stood up. The water evaporated and he walked out of the carriage.

The scene outside stumped Andrew for a moment. He had seen it many times, but this was the first time he was seeing it this up close and personal. The tall walls of Magair, the outer city of the Capital City of Rivera, Nylenor.

Nylenor, the ancient city that had served as the center seat of power of the Elves was divided into five sub-cities.

First was Magair, which was the outermost city. It was the place where most of the commoners of the capital lived. It consisted of many farmlands and graving spots for livestock.

Next was Alfador. This city was dedicated toward the middle class society, where most businesses and private owners lived.

The third and center city was name Helwan. It was dedicated toward the production industry where a lot of things gotten from Magair was processed.

The second city was known as Tiama. It was where the military operations of Nylenor was carried out. The training of new recruits was done here. A lot of resources flowed from the prior cities to this one, as a large amount of resources was needed to ensure the proper fostering of a powerful army.

Last but not least was Nylenor itself, the city that was known as the capital of Rivera. Even though the four earlier mentioned cities were considered as part of the capital, their very diverse functions and standings, along with the people that lived within them made it so that the people did not consider them as part of the capital city.

"We\'re really here." Andrew let out a sigh in appreciation as he admired the beautiful walls. Even though this city was mostly occupied by commoners, the Elves were so proud that even their commoners lived in a lifestyle that spoke of luxury in itself. Their higher class only lived more lavishly.
