Chapter 392 Discovered!
Chapter 392 Discovered!
By the time the two month timeframe was nearing its end, the sky of the hidden dimension where construction was done had become filled with many different airships of different sizes.
Leon had also counted the time, and was had paused in his efforts to have a moment to himself. After all, it had been just a bit over a year since he had arrived in this world. Time flew by quickly and he had almost lost his sense of time. He could not even remember the exact day he had come here, but he knew roughly how much time had passed.
But his mood soon returned to normal. He did not miss too much about Earth. The only things that concerned him was the wellbeing of his friends back there. He secretly rooted for James in his pursuit of Megan\'s heart and wished them happiness. On the other hand, he already had someone to occupy his mind. Although, at first, his interest in her was not quite direct and straightforward, but now, he truly liked her for who she was.
"That is the thirtieth one done now. I can\'t believe this!" Vera exclaimed from the deck of the latest airship that had been completed. It was an 800 meter long airship.
Over the past couple of months, she had worked tirelessly with her people to ensure that everything went as planned. Because of their need to rush, there were inevitably some instances where they left traces, and the forces of her father cracked down hard on some bases.
Luckily, they had prepared for that, and no one was captured.
"Preparations have already been made. In the next few weeks, we should be ready for the first strike." Leon said as he walked over to Vera.
"Yes, we are already done with our preparations. In fact, we could make the first move today. It is just best that we stick to our plans to make sure nothing goes wrong." Vera nodded her head as she took in her hard work.
Just then, the door to the separate dimension flashed once before opening. A panicked Mordred rushed into the place, his eyes instantly spotting Vera.
"Princess! We have a problem!" He declared.
"Seems I had spoken too soon." Vera\'s face crumpled and she got serious. She waved her hand and Mordred\'s figure instantly vanished and appeared in front of her. "What happened?"
"It\'s... It\'s Havenfall base. We\'ve lost it. The people inside were caught by surprise and were not able to entirely evacuate. Some people were captured." Mordred explained with a grave tone.
"I see. Who led the attack on the base?" Vera\'s frown deepened.
"None other than Dyson, the Emperor\'s right hand man."
"It seems out plans have been thrown out of proportion. We no longer hold the entire initiative. With Dyson\'s skillset, he should have extracted the necessary information by now. Send word out, all the auxiliary bases should be abandoned. Only our strongest bases should remain." Vera decisively said.
"Are-are you sure?" Mordred was taken aback.
"Yes. We need to cut off anything that could put us at a disadvantage." Vera said firmly.
"Won\'t abandoning all our peripheral bases put us at a disadvantage instead?" Mordred asked with hesitation.
"You are right, but I believe it is better to cut our losses as they are. Dragging anything on when it could implicate us will be our undoing." Vera sighed. She knew how much of a loss it would be to toss aside those bases. But she was adamant that it was the right thing to do.
She looked at Leon with a determined look. "With this new development, we might very well start the war at an earlier date than planned. Your Excellency, Leon, I hope you can remain hidden for a time and strike when they least expect it. That way, we can shock them so hard that they will be unable to form a proper response in time." She used honorifics to refer to him, showing how serious she was.
"I understand. I also look forward to my debut on the battlefield. Maybe I\'ll finally be able to test out my strength properly." Leon smiled and nodded his head.
Of course, he was quite eager to get into the heat of things again. He had not been in contact with Michael all this time, so he had not received any missions to dungeons to free some people that were turned into monsters.
Even when the war was being fought, he had not really used his full strength. The last fight where he had actually felt pressure was the time when he had fought against a copy created by the Nexus Being. Anything else was easy enough to solve by relying on his summons, or Divinity.
However, when it came to the Elven Empire, which had an accumulation that stretched over a couple thousand years, he would surely encounter old monsters that had very deep accumulation and power. From what Vera had told him, the number of \'demigods\', the term used to refer to those who were clearly above A rank, but were still mortals, in the Elven Empire was quite numerous.
While many of them had grown old or eventually died over the long years, quite a few of them still guarded Rivera. A few of them were even on her side!
Leon especially looked forward to fighting against these people. He was eager to test his mettle against them, as he was denied of that chance when his summons dealt with Garr.
Leon\'s gaze turned from Vera to his people that were spread out along the various airships, making some last minute touches or working with each other. In the coming weeks, they would see war.
