Chapter 137 Unknown Fate

Michael marched forward with firm steps through the familiar castle that he had been visiting more frequently. His silvery gunmetal hair waved in the air behind him as he approached the large double doors at the end of the hall. The doors swung open on its own when he got close enough.

Fazir, the mighty God that he served, has summoned him. The God was seated atop his throne with a screen hovering in front of him. Michael was very familiar with what he was watching. It was a replay of the battle between Leon and the many monsters summoned by the trial on the third floor of the Tower of Trials.

"Michael." Fazir looked up with a smile. "Have you seen this?" He gestured to the image and the screen grew larger. It was large enough for both of them to watch it without any problems.

"Yes, Your Excellency. Leon has showed us that we did not invest in him for nothing." Michael bowed his head and responded.

"Indeed." Fazir looked back to the screen with a content smile on his face. Things were still going according to plan. They had a few years ahead of them before the calamity that was heading their way arrive, and Leon was already at Mid B rank. His growth was the absolute best that Fazir had seen in his long years of life. Only less than two months, and he was already at Mid B rank. That made absolutely no sense, but it was exactly what he needed right now.

"The boy is truly reality defying. I tried to look into his Fate some time ago, but it was too tangled to make sense of." He said calmly, but those words sent a wave of shock rippling through Michael. His head snapped up to see the smiling face of Fazir. He could barely comprehend the implications of those words.

Fazir was the major God that watched over and supervised the threads of fate that was linked to every living being in the world. While there were some lesser Gods, like Michael, that also watched over aspects of Fate, Fazir was the greatest of them all. He was the only major Fate God. This meant that he could tap into the threads of fate of any lesser being of the world and see their past, present, and futures. He could do all of this effortlessly.

Michael had always respected Fazir and served his faithfully. Because of that, he was one of the most powerful lesser Fate Gods. For him to hear that Fazir, the one he looked up to the most, had not been able to read the fate of a mortal had absolutely shocked him.

"How?" He could not help but ask. He found it hard to believe.

"I do not know. I can only think of one possible meaning to this. And that meaning is related to Leon's new Supreme Skill." Fazir replied calmly. "He will become someone whose destiny can not be measured. By the time he reaches A rank, then I can only assume that anyone aside from me who tries to read into his fate will receive a nasty backlash."

Michael remained silent as he digested this new information. How had that measly mortal that he had brought to this world been able to gain such power in so little time? It made his own rise to Godhood several centuries ago seem like child's play. And that was something!

He had taken the Gods by storm. Shaken their temples to gain their attention. A number of lesser Gods had even fallen to him. But now, his record seemed as though it would be broken.

'No, even if it is broken, I shall be remembered in the annals of history forever. The Temple of Gods shall bear my story till the end of time.' He reassured himself. It was not that easy to shake the will of a God.

"I called you here for a specific reason." All of a sudden, Fazir spoke up again. His voice was smooth, but it carried unprecedented power. As a Fate God, he might not seem like a person suitable for combat, but there would be very few Gods that could stand on the same level as himself. A Fate God was one of the worst enemies to have.

Michael bowed his head as he waited for his master to speak. He knew that whatever it was that Fazir had to say must have been important.

"I want you to..."

"Say, do you have any other secret that you think you should share with me?" Jet asked Leon as the two wandered through the fifth floor of the Tower of Trials. The fourth floor had been cleared not long after they had arrived in it, and luckily for them, there was a portal not far from their position at the time. Now, they were one of the earliest to come to the fifth floor, but even then, they were not in too much of a rush.

"Err... Well, I do have something else I haven't told you, but it is not too important." Leon thought for a moment before speaking. He planned to reach out to Jet after Divinity's Bout, so he did not mind revealing this tiny bit of information. Although, it could impact him in negative ways, he tried to hope for a positive outcome instead.

"What is it?" Jet immediately asked, then he raised up his hand. "No pressure, or anything, but I'm just curious." He laughed.

"Well..." Leon activated a skill he had not used since Divinity's Bout had started. Like water, a dark liquid flowed up and covered his bones, from toe to the top of his skull. The dark liquid solidified and lightened, turning into dark skin, while strands of black hair stretched out form the top of his head. In mere moments, the black bone that he had always been was covered up.

"Tada!" Leon grinned. He waved a hand and laughed at his friend's stunned expression. "Surprised?"
