Chapter 350: It Is You, as Expected
It Is You, as Expected . . .
The man couldn't suppress a chuckle and remarked, "The poor Sunlight Sect. I was right about your blindness. You actually mistook me for the Boundless Saint. Hahahaha... How amusing! You have eyes, yet you are blind. Pitiful souls."
Ji Chengfeng responded with a stoic tone, "Oh really? We've confused you with someone else?"
The man in black retorted in a humorless voice, "Absolutely! How could the Boundless Saint possibly be in the same league as me? Are you so certain I am that man?"
Ji Chengfeng coolly continued, "There's no need to employ tricks. If you're not the Boundless Saint, proving it is straightforward. I doubt you'd dare, though."
The man in black sneered, "And what would that be? You want me to remove my mask?"
Ji Chengfeng regarded the man in black with disdain and uttered, "We've never laid eyes on the face of the Boundless Saint. Even if you unveil your mask, we won't recognize you. I have a simpler method. Just say something, and we'll determine whether you are the Boundless Saint or not."
"What should I say?"
Ji Chengfeng's eyes filled with mockery as he responded, "... Boundless Saint is a vile son of a b*tch!"
The man in black fell silent, his eyes emanating a chilling, murderous intent. The atmosphere grew suddenly tense and menacing.
After a brief pause, the man's gaze grew sharper and more sinister. Ji Chengfeng sensed that the man was seething with anger and swiftly readied himself for combat in case of an attack.
Nonetheless, the masked man in black spoke nonchalantly, "What? You think you can dictate what I say? I won't utter those words. What will you do about it?"
Ji Chengfeng nodded deliberately and enunciated each word, "Whether you say it or not, it doesn't matter. Regardless, if you intend to leave this place, it will be... quite challenging."
With a wave of his hand, fifteen superior cultivators from the Sunlight Sect simultaneously adopted offensive postures, effectively encircling the man in black.
The man in black let out a sardonic chuckle and replied, "You ignorant people. You truly underestimate the vastness of the world. If I want to come, I come. If I want to leave, I leave. Do you really believe you can stop me with your pitiful bunch of subordinates?"
As he spoke, he began to ascend into the air, evidently preparing to make his exit.
Ji Chengfeng fixed his gaze on the man and calmly stated, "It's perfectly fine if you wish to depart. I'm just curious why the Boundless Saint ventured to our territory, humiliated us, and even took the life of one of our own. Wouldn't it be rather dishonorable to leave without offering an explanation?"
The man in black snorted dismissively and responded, "I was merely passing through, observing to see if anything of interest occurred. I had initially intended to depart after witnessing your plight, but I never anticipated that a group of senseless individuals like you would dare to attack me. Thus, I had to deliver a suitable punishment. Now that it's done, I have no desire to linger."
He continued, "One last thing—I am not the Boundless Saint. Ji Chengfeng, you are mistaken. Your irresponsible remarks may incur the wrath of the Boundless Lake's people, and that would be your own doing. Do not blame me for any consequences that may arise."
Ji Chengfeng responded with a cold smile, saying, "Should I express gratitude for your counsel?"
Another member of the Sunlight Sect could no longer contain his frustration and yelled, "Boundless Saint! You son of a b*tch! What now? You're too cowardly to admit your actions?"
The man in black turned around, his eyes sharp as daggers gleaming in the dark night.
The cultivator taunted, "Sons of b*tches like the Boundless Saint have always been shameless and sneaky lackeys. Now that their true colors are exposed, they dare not even confess their name. What a disgrace!"
Although Ji Chengfeng had urged the man in black to utter "Boundless Saint is a son of a b*tch," the man's refusal to comply was an implicit self-condemnation.
All of a sudden, the Sunlight Sect members began chanting "Boundless Saint is a son of a b*tch" repeatedly and at the top of their voices. It became a sort of cathartic outlet for their pent-up anger.
They were openly and audaciously deriding a world-renowned master cultivator by labeling him as a "son of a b*tch," and he dared not retaliate. The satisfaction they derived from this act of defiance was palpable.
Moreover, after having been so thoroughly humiliated, they now had an avenue through which they could vent their frustration. The excitement grew, and they raised their voices even higher.
As they cursed, they keenly observed the reactions of the infamous figure, their newfound source of amusement.
The man's eyes blazed with an ever-intensifying fury, an anger that radiated palpable bloodlust.
It became evident that he could no longer suppress his rage when, with a deep voice, he bellowed, "You shameless wretches! How dare you subject the Boundless Saint to such humiliation! Die, every last one of you, die!"
His hands swept through the air, and in an instant, an abundance of frigid sparks erupted in the obscurity of the night. Beneath the faint twinkle of starlight, a seemingly infinite web of silver threads appeared in the sky, each one glinting brilliantly.
"Watch out! Flying needles!" Ji Chengfeng's urgent cry filled the night air as the needles shot forth. He swiftly alerted his companions to exercise caution.
Simultaneously, his sword radiated a luminous glow, and Ji Chengfeng and his blade merged into a radiant pillar. It was as if he was suspended in mid-air. In that pillar of light, he vanished, becoming a luminous dragon that streaked through the nocturnal heavens, bearing down upon the man in black who stood on the rooftop with an aura of unwavering determination.
A cacophonous clatter resonated through the air as countless needles were deflected.
The Sunlight Sect cultivators, although startled, did not lose their composure when faced with the aerial assault of flying needles. They united their efforts, transforming into glimmers of swordlight that darted about, striking down each incoming needle one after another.
However, the density of the needle storm was overwhelming, and two of their own were unfortunate enough to be pierced by the needles. Both were struck in the arms, and upon penetration, the needles appeared to remain stationary. But then, an agonizing pain overcame them as the needles embedded themselves deeper. Despite the excruciating torment, they refrained from hasty action. Instead, they employed their martial skills to isolate the needles, channeled their spiritual energy to halt the progress of the foreign objects, and ultimately incised their own flesh to extricate the intrusive needles. It was at this moment that they caught sight of the needles and vocalized their ire, declaring, "As expected of the Boundless Saint!".
