Chapter 159 - She Hugged Him
"Stop staring at me like that, I didn't say I like you but I said I like spending time with you," Jasmine emphasised when she saw the way Jackson was staring at her.
"I didn't say anything," Jackson said before he turned to look out of the window. He was scared that he might do something inappropriate to her if he continues staring at her after all the awesome words she said to him.
A few minutes later the car halted in front of the busy amusement park.
"Take this," Jackson said as he handed a blue face cap to Jasmine standing beside him.
"You have a fiancee, people might understand our relationship if they see us together. You know you are more popular than a celebrity," Jackson said when Jasmine refused to collect the cap from him.
"You know I don't care about what others say. I am very familiar with all the titles they call me but I care less about what they think," Jasmine said as she turned to walk away but Jackson quickly obstructed her path by standing in front of her.
"You don't care but I do so be a good girl and just wear it," Jackson said as he helps her to wear the cap.
"I know you are worried about concealing your beauty with a cap but believe me you still stand out even with this cap on," Jackson said as he smiles at her.
"Ice Prince, what is wrong with you lately? Why are you suddenly treating me so sweetly? I don't only feel uncomfortable with it but I can't seem to get used to it so please tell me what is wrong," Jasmine said as she stares at the smiling Jackson.
"Didn't you say you want to play, stop overthinking and let's go," Jackson said as he approached the entrance of the amusement park.
"He is always so mysterious and the most provoking thing is that I can't read his thoughts or emotions," Jasmine thought aloud as she stares at his departing back.
"What are you staring at?" Jackson who turned around to see that Jasmine was still in the position he left her asked.
"I am coming," Jasmine said as she walked towards him.
"Let's go have some fun," Jasmine said smiling radiantly. The two of them headed into the bubbling amusement park where people of all classes and statuses frequent.
"So which rides do you want to try out first?" Jackson asked curiously after they had successfully entered the park.
"I want to try out everything," Jasmine said with glittering eyes. She behaved like a child who couldn't hide her excitement.
"Does that imply that you want to spend the night at the park so you could try out all the rides?" Jackson asked as he stares at the excited Jasmine.
"If you want to try out all the rides then we can come back some other time but today you will have to choose the one you want," Jackson suggested in a very patient tone.
"Are you indirectly asking me out on a date?" Jasmine asked curiously as she stares into his eyes. They were too busy talking to each other to care about their environment or the people.
She got me there! How do I save myself now?
Jackson thought when he realised that Jasmine has seen through his plans.
"You are the one who says you don't have friends to hang out with except Catherine. And you also said you feel comfortable hanging out with me and I offered to hang out with you but forget it if you are not cool with my offer," Jackson said pretending as though he was angry. His angry expression was so convincing that Jasmine fell for it.
"Who says I dislike the idea?" Jasmine asked sternly.
"Let's go, I want to ride that one first," Jasmine said as she pointed at the ride whose name she did not know.
"You mean the Ferris ride?" Jackson asked to confirm.
"Yes," the impatient Jasmine replied before she held his hand and pulled her along with him. Jackson just followed her lead, not reprimanding her. In fact, for some unknown reason, he loves this.
Jasmine and Jackson tried out the Ferris wheel as Jasmine wanted. After that, they ate Ice Cream. The naughty Jasmine smeared Ice Cream on Jackson's face before she ran away. Jackson pursued the playful Jasmine. While playing the two didn't care about their identity or status. It was as if they abandoned all that inside the car. If they had wanted to care about their identity and status they wouldn't have had any fun moments. After they were done chasing each other around they continued with their rides.
While Jasmine and Jackson were having the best moment of their lives Jeff and Catherine were also doing the same.
"Catherine, the special place I want to show you is far away from here, I don't know whether you are willing," Jeff asked after they had come out of the movie theatre. They continue walking towards where their car was parked.
"Didn't you say you wanted to show me something special? As far as it is worth seeing the distance doesn't matter," Catherine said to the delight of the previously anxious Jeff.
"One more thing, Jeff. Stop acting like you are scared of me because I feel uncomfortable when you act this way. I only rejected to be your girlfriend but I did not beat you up so stop acting this way. Let's go back to how we normally were before the proposal took place," Catherine said in a serious tone before Jeff could open the door of the car for her.
"I can't promise you anything but I will try," Jeff said before he opened the front seat of the car for her. He walked over to the driver side afterwards.
"I will take it over from here. Take the rest of the day off from work," Jeff said in a serious tone.
"Thank you so much boss," the smiling driver wearing a black suit said as he came down from the car. He only left after the car disappear into the far distance.
Back in the amusement park, Jasmine who had specifically saved the roller coaster ride as the last ride could not stop smiling after they came down from the roller coaster.
"That was super thrilling. I am so happy. Words can't describe how happy I am," Jasmine said as she turned and stand in front of Jackson.
"What is wrong? Why are you staring at me like that?" Jackson asked when he saw the strange way Jasmine stare at him.
"After Cat left with Jeff, I thought I would have to not only battle with my thoughts but also with my emotions but you saved me from myself today," Jasmine said as she embraced him out of the blues. Jackson was too shocked to react. He stood there like a statue.
"Thank you for making me so happy today Jackson, I promise to repay the favour someday," Jasmine said in a serious tone before she pulled away from him. She walked away afterwards without glaring at him.
Before Jackson recovered from the shock she was some distance away. He hurried after her so he could catch up to her.
"How about we grab dinner?" Jackson proposed after they had reached where his driver was patiently waiting for them.
"Sorry, but I will pass. I have to go home and prepare for my next appointment," Jasmine said before she stretched her hand and open the car before Jackson could open the door for her. It was after she talked about having an appointment that Jackson recalled that she told him the previous day that she wanted to visit her parents.
Jackson entered the car and sat beside her afterwards. Their journey from the amusement park to Jasmine's home was a quiet one.
Jackson dropped Jasmine at her mansion before he left. Although he felt sad to part ways with her, he consoled himself with the fact that he did not have a choice.
The moment Jasmine reached her bedroom, she freshened up and got set for her appointment.
Meanwhile, while Jasmine was getting set, Jeff and Catherine arrived at their destination. Since the road in which the place was located could not accommodate a car, Jeff and Catherine came down from the car and trek the small distance to their main destination.
On almost reaching the special place, Jeff asked Catherine to close her eyes but the sceptical Catherine refused. After so many minutes of convincing she finally agreed.
The lovestruck Jeff was more than happy to led her by the hand to the place. After about fifteen minutes of walking, Jeff finally asked her to open her eyes.
Catherine on opening her eyes wanted to scold him but the words refused to form when she got a glimpse of the beautiful flowers.
"Wow...," Catherine remarked in amazement as she let her eyes wander far from where they stood. Jeff was so happy to see the smile on her face.
